Review: Amazing Phrase Book & More! - If you want to learn Lebanese Arabic, I strongly recommend not only purchasing the Phrase Books by Hiba Najem but also following her YouTube videos and taking one-on-one Skype classes with her. Hiba Najem's phrase books are unique in that she places important phrases into context, such as phrases that you might use at the airport. I also find her transliteration more accurate than that found in many other publications, especially in terms of distinguishing between subtle differences required for conjugating verbs. An example is her distinction between 1st person singular and 3rd person feminine singular as in "ana akalet" (I ate) vs. "hiyeh akalit" (she ate). Anyone familiar with the Arabic script knows the importance of such a distinction, especially when in writing the two words appear the same. She also provides the Arabic script, which I believe helps the learner relate more closely to the spoken word. Hiba Najem is a gifted instructor, which is apparent in her Phrase Books. Through them, she completes her effective package for learning Lebanese and/or improving your Arabic in general. (by Ann Ainlay Chebbo) Review: Will certainly use this book to teach my kiddo Arabic!!! - Looking for something that can help and encourage kids and adults to learn Arabic in a fun and easy way? This is the right resource! The author does an outstanding job making Arabic lessons very practical and interesting!!!! An iteresting and instructive work!!
This is an interesting and instructive work that opens the door to the Lebanese Arabic dialect. It takes up useful phrases that are used in the daily life. The work is well-structured and is divided into chapters such as traveling, airport, directions, money, accommodation, shopping, greetings, family, friends, relationships and much more. The phrases are linked to educational videos that are accessible on Youtube. I can highly recommend the work!

Works great with the YouTube videos
For someone trying to learn how to speak Lebanese Arabic, this book, along with Hiba's YouTube videos are very helpful. The chapters are well-organized and each word or phrase is referenced to a particular YouTube video in Hiba's YouTube channel.

Thumbs up!
Although the book does not cover grammar rules it is a good look into common Lebanese phrases and pronunciation! Additionally, it is helpful to see these phrases written out in Arabic as you can deduce for yourself the grammar in these sentences :)

Very useful.
It's definitely not easy to learn any type of Arabic language, especially for those who are unfamiliar with the Arabic letters. But somehow this book makes learning the language quite fun, particularly thanks to the access to the video lessons. A direct link to pronunciation for each sentence might be of greater help. A quite practical book anyhow.

Not a phrasebook by my definition
For me a "phrasebook" is a type of language book meant to be used for travel containing common phrases needed while staying for a short time in a foreign country. It should be very logically arranged according to the situations one encounters while traveling. See the Rick Steves or Lonely Planet phrasebooks for examples. Phrasebooks typically have a handy dictionary as well. According to these expectations, this is not a phrasebook. It is primarily a list of links that go along with some videos on Youtube. As Youtube is required for the use of this book, it is not helpful when trying to purchase goods in a market in Lebanon or trying to order in a restaurant. I would not recommend this book for these reasons, and I believe the title is misleading.

Sigue los videos de youtube
El libro sigue los vídeos de youtube, sin embargo, el formato es bastante feo. Parece como si hubieran imprimido un Excel (y mal). Hay algunas faltas de ortografía. Para lo que es, es caro.
