House Foods Vermont Curry, Curry with Touch of a Apple and Honey (Hot, 8.1 oz (230g) x 2 Pack)

I love these Vermont Curry flavors and they have the Apple and Honey in my local Asian Markets but not in Hot. I do not think this curry is as hot as some other I have used and taste a slight hint of the apple. It is not to bad of a curry mix and may get it again in the near future.

I've only ever had the S&B curry rouxs because I live in the upper Midwest where you don't generally see any other brands and I wanted to try a different oneto see if they're as good. This one is definitely a little different than what I'm used to, it's got a slightly more sweet and savory flavor than S&B and less curry spice taste to it. It's still delicious and I think I'd order this brand again in the future. Even though it says hot, I'd put it on the same heat level as S&B's hot flavor, so not very hot at all.

It has gluten and MSG but it's made in Japan without nearly as many chemically modified ingredients as in the US. Is there a difference? Yes. One of our family members has food sensitivities and is gluten free but this product does not cause sickness or irritation or discomfort.

House Foods Vermont Curry was a Balanced mix of a nice curry flavor, mild spice and hint of sweetness. If you are looking for a slightly different Japanese curry, look no further. I tried this with potatoes, carrots, and onions over steamed white rice. It was delicious, I will be buying more to keep on hand. The portion size yields a large amount of curry, I would say half would be a good portion size for two people and the whole package could make enough for 4-6 people, especially if you add more ingredients than I did or a protein.

This is a great curry brick. In a dutch oven with some potatoes and carrots cones out amazingly well. Pairs perfectly with rice and chicken.

We found this brand from the Morimoto Recipe and we love it! The Hot is not american hot. My husband loved to get spicy level 10 at Coco Curry. this would equate to a spice 2 or 3, if that helps as any kind of reference point. Best with a fried pork cutlet, carrots, onions, potatoes, and green beans!

Not bad tasting. But it is not, by any stretch I'd think, HOT. Black pepper is hotter than this stuff. I'm not one of those super hot loving people, Tabasco is my upper preferred range. And this is just not triggering any sensation of hot at all.

I can't say enough good things about Vermont Curry. Sweet, savory, customizable. I like to blend it in with other roux blocks, but it always ends up in the pot.

I fell in love with this type of curry on a trip to Japan. One of my favorite dishes was curry Katsu. This makes a curry sauce that is perfect for curry Katsu. We use half of the cubes in the box per meal for a family of 4 when we make curry Katsu. Delicious and it is not hot.

A diferencia del S&B Golden Curry este tiene un sabor mucho menos especiado y aromático, lo cual no es malo de ninguna manera; tiene toques más dulces y a pesar de que es la versión "picante", no lo sentí así. No hay necesidad de agregar manzana rallada y/o miel, como acostumbro "tunearlo". El curry queda un poco más espeso que la otra marca, lo cual me gustó mucho. Me falta probar el Java y el Kukumaro para poder comparar y decidir cuál me gusta más de estas marcas más comerciales.
