Best upgrade for baseboard heaters
In the house we recently purchased, we had 6 electric baseboard thermostats throughout the house. Only one of those thermostats controlled 2 baseboards, so we had to be diligant every day to adjust all 6 thermostats as we came and went. These almond baseboard heaters we almost 25 years old so we were going to repaint them. After looking into options to wirelessly combine the existing thermostats with modules - I gave up when it was almost $500. After stumbling onto the Dimplexs heaters, I realized we could replace all the baseboard heaters with new digital ones and centrally control them for around $500.The main benefits of the simplex baseboards and wireless controller:- digital thermostat at each heater (this device just sets the set points throughout the day)- combine heaters in up to four zones- four unique set points per day (wake, leave, arrive, sleep for each day)- temporary overrides and full holds per zone- wireless thermostat can mount anywhere and can be carried around the houseThe main problems with the unit are as follows:- linking the controller with the units require a specific button sequence that can be complicated at first- the touchscreen on the unit isn't the most responsive which is frustrating during the maim setup, after that the touchscreen isn't that badOn a side note, this only works with certain Dimplex heaters (wall and baseboard units) that have the wireless capability. The Dimplex baseboard heaters are smaller than traditional heaters length wise because they are more efficient, so baseboard may have to be patched.

It can be a fairly complex set of steps to set up, and you may not succeed
This item is a little like going back in time 5 or 10 years to the way software used to be written. Definitely not intuitive. Just imagine yourself on the floor with your heater and this device and the instruction book painstakingly following the directions to try to get them to connect. Good luck. I have not been successful yet, but will keep trying. Perhaps others may be more successful. It is a nice looking heater, I almost wish now I had bought a simpler model of heater. I was able to program it for all the good it does when it cannot connect.

A bit tricky at first.
This controller is a bit tricky at first to use. You will need some patience the first few times you go to program it. But like anything else, once you get the hang of it, it's easy to operate. But I would hang on to the manual for the future. The wireless signal isn't the strongest, and it sometimes doesn't commiciate with the farthest room, so I had to buy a second one for back there. For clarification, it can control 4 zones, not just 4 heaters. Meaning, if you have a zone with more than one heater, like a family room/dinning room, it can control both heaters and only use up 1 zone.On a side note, I LOVE the dimplex heaters! I didn't buy them from Amazon so can't leave a review for them, but know that they work great! I replaced all the old, almond, metal, clunky ones with white Dimplex. Because they are more efficient, I could get smaller, and help save wall space. And they put out a lot of heat.

Big Drawbacks
This controller runs on batteries not AC power, lose batteries lose programing. Way to complex to setup and could never actually get it to pair with wireless heaters.

IF-big IF you can get your heaters synced, then this thing is worth it.
Wow. I'm pretty tech forward and don't usually have a problem setting stuff up. I purchased 4 Dimplex baseboard heaters and then ordered this so I could use this controller, rather than bending over to adjust the temp on the tiny, tiny barely readable digital display on the baseboard. The instructions for syncing this to the baseboards are simply all wrong. It's a crime. You can spend hours following the instructions to a T, to no avail. Then you call Dimplex. Then they pretty much acknowledge that there's a problem with the instructions. In the meantime you've aged 10 years and would prefer to freeze to death in your own house, rather than program this controller. Finally, if you get it done, it works okay. I pretty much suggest not buying this and trying to set it up. Seriously. It will take years off your life.

Wireless thermostat
We use these in all our basement renovations. They allow wireless control of the dimplex wireless electric heaters. There is no wiring needed which allows you to mount it almost anywhere and it controls up to four different zones.

Very hard to set up, works well tho
Very hard to syn and set up. Almost smashed this thing. Once it was set up works well. Definitely use this with a touch screen pen. This screen is like the 90s touch screens. Finger won't work well

a little funky to program but if you've programed a watch or VCR in the old days not too bad.
Does the job, a little funky to program but if you've programed a watch or VCR in the old days not too bad.
