White Noise Sound Machine - Real Fan Sleep Aid, Noise Cancelling for Office Privacy, Home, Baby & Adults - Portable, Travel Friendly Sleep Machine

This noise machine has worked very well, and is a great value for the price. It was initially purchased to serve as the travel unit. This is the second one of these I've purchased. From what I have researched, this is the most affordable natural sound noise machine. There are cheaper noise machines that use an electric speaker, and we prefer something more natural sounding. The quality of noise is much higher than an electric speaker, this machine makes enough noise to "fill up" a standard size bedroom with Omni directional noise vs. an electric speaker which cant really do that. Pros: Lightweight, affordable $24, Prime Item, 2 noise levels, noise volume adjustment within each level of sound, natural fan/steady ocean wave sound (very similar to what a sonogram sounds like without the "woosh woosh" sound of it moving around without and the heartbeat). Fits perfectly into a Crown Royal bag for traveling which keeps the cord from getting all over the place. Cons: It doesn't get super loud...but so far its been plenty loud enough for my 3 year old and for me (much louder and fuller sound than an Iphone or similar). The cord could be a little longer (easy fix if you purchase a $2 extension cord). Since im not a fan of the electronic noise, I went with this unit and liked it so much I bought another for myself. Overall I am pleased with it, enough to give 5 stars. I would never pay more than $40 for something like this when a simple box fan is $18. I would definitely purchase again. I purchased this for my two boys bc ever since they were born I always believed in some sort of white noise, I used fans though and then I had to face them away from them bc I was worried they would get too cold, but they always slept so well from babies until now ages 4 1/2 and 6 1/2.... I always pondered on an actual white noise machine but I was afraid it wouldnt be loud enough, the cost, and how good it actually sounded,,, then I researched these bc I hated the cold air from the fans on my kids... and lugging them around and if they stayed at grandmas they wouldnt be able to sleep comfortably and I cant lug the fan around or rely on people to have one... so bc of theses reasons and the incredibly low price of this machine we decided to try this... and we all love it... first the noise is generated from an actual fan and for its size is mighty powerful in my opinion... its so small we can take it on sleepovers to grandparents... and its so small it doesnt interfere with the decor in my childrens room... its not obtrusive and large like a stand fan... we loved it so much we bought a second for when our daughter was born... she also a great sleeper which i attribute partially too the white noise...its very calming... I will purchase another for husband and I... only slight on is the initial "new plastic smell it omits for a couple days but... its not a big deal... and it went away... I recommend these great little machines to anyone looking for a good white noise machine!!

It is hard to believe that this thing actually works. To be quite honest for this review, I did not purchase this item for myself. It is for my wife. My wife takes medication for her sleeplessness. She was on Ambien, but now she takes a different med that I can't remember the name. But, here's the real story behind this review: I snore, and even with the meds, my wife can't sleep. I've tried different snore reduction techniques, but for one reason or another they don't work well for me. So back to the Sleep Easy. I bought this during Amazon Prime day, so the price that I paid was no big loss even if it didn't work, and a great deal if it did work. The first night we had it, my wife had it on [high] and took out both ear plugs, and she slept through the night. The second night, she put it on [low], and with both ear plug gone, had an okay sleep, but not as good as the second night. She is currently sleeping with one plug in, and the Sleep Easy on [low], and getting a real nice night of sleep. Who would have thought that something that sounds like a small constant fan would actually work. My wife is much happier about her sleep with this device.

Works very well, at a great price. Let's face it, it's a knockoff of the original Marpac machine, at a fraction of the cost. But it works well. Pros: - fair amount of sound tone adjustment: the sides at top of the case move independently and open/close various holes, changing the sound tone a bit. I didn't expect this, and produces a fuller sound. This is a big deal to me, because I wanted a sound source in the lower frequency range, like a box fan produces. This doesn't replicate a box fan, but it is much better than a typical small fan or electronic white noise sources I've tried. - two fan speeds: the high speed can be really loud given the right hole settings with the sides of the case, much louder than I want (if this thing was on my nightstand at the loudest setting, I couldn't sleep). I use it on low speed, that's plenty loud for me. Moving it across the room is always an option if needed. - size: smaller than I thought it'd be. Easy to pack in a suitcase Cons - like other reviewers have mentioned, mine did have a "hot plastic" type of smell for the first few minutes, then it went away. It's been odor free for about a month now. I'm guessing there's a resistor inside that allows for two fan speeds, and the resistor needed to be "broken in". - fused plug. This thing has a fuse in the plug, similar to Christmas tree lights. Very weird, and will be a big deal if it ever blows. How many people expect fuses in their appliances??

When I was initially on the hunt for a sound machine, I came across the Dohm, but at $50 each, they were a bit pricey. I purchased one anyway (I was desperate for a way to get my baby to sleep!), and liked it so much that I wanted to another. However, I didn’t want to spend the money. I was happy to find this product—it is functionally the same and a lot cheaper! After using both of them in different rooms for quite some time, I will say that the Dohm is slightly better in overall sound quality, but the difference is not negligible to be noticeable. The timbre of the wind sound is slightly different as well, but again, I don’t think that it’s a problem. There are 2 sound settings: a “low” and a “high”—but within each setting, you can adjust the output to increase or decrease the volume by turning the outer cover (blocking/unblocking sound holes), and you can adjust the timbre/pitch by turning the top of the machine. My biggest complaint with this machine is that it is a bit fragile: when one of them was dropped, it stopped working completely. As I have young children who are learning boundaries, this scenario is likely to be repeated, so I replaced that machine with the Dohm, which was dropped but continued to work. We had 2 of this version, and the second was dropped as well; it continued to work but on one of the settings, you can hear the motor a bit (takes away from the white noise aspect). It can be a little bit irritating but tends to go away the longer the machine runs. So, ultimately, it is a good option if you don’t want to shell out the money to get the Dohm, but you must be careful or you will end up spending more money than you intended.

I got this because I live in a century-old rental house that sits RIGHT on one of the most heavily trafficked streets throughfares in my city--cars constantly passing by all hours, day and night and my house is right by a busy traffic light so... cars getting backed up, stopping, going... and on an emergency vehicle route too no less... old windows so sound just coming right through. My master bedroom is on the second floor overlooking the street and after 9 months of being awaken constantly by the noise of it and not getting used to it, I was at the end of my rope. I'd tried everything. Blackout curtains. Ear plugs. Moving my bedroom to a different room. I'm a VERY light sleeper, so short of taking melatonin to knock myself out, nothing was helping. This machine DOES help me though. There are two ways to adjust this machine, one is by spinning the base of it to open and close the holes on the sides, another is by adjusting the top to open and close the holes on the top. If you open all of the holes, it'll be at its maximum volume. I found the max volume to be about the same as running a large fan or maybe a little bit louder than having the AC on. In my case, there were a few different types of noise disturbances and this machine helped each of them with different levels of efficacy: Swooshing sounds of wheels passing over the pavement as they went by? Completely drowns that out. If a car is just driving by without changing acceleration, you can't even tell. Noises like an engine suddenly accelerating? Doesn't entirely block it out, but it softens it dramatically. Emergency vehicle sirens? Sorry, you'll still hear those! Bass-y type noises from cars? It helps a little, but you'll still hear this. People can be real jerks! Random people yelling outside and noises of that nature? If you're the kind of person whose mind is always sort of mentally alert scanning for noise, you'll probably still hear things like this--I'm one of those people. If you're not and your problem is just that noise in general gets to you, this might help drown that kind of thing out. This isn't to say I think there's a better machine out there that could drown these noises out--this is probably your best bet if you're in a similar situation other than "MOVE AND DON'T LOOK BACK." If you're in a similar situation but own your home, you might want to try this in combination with installing triple pane windows (though, that can be expensive so this is a good cheap solution!) This machine operates on a 2-prong 110v electric cord (batteries are not an option)... so I guess if you were thinking about getting this for a camping trip with a snorer, this wouldn't be that great! If you're using it in your home or in some modern indoors place, totally fine. The machine doesn't really produce air or anything that you're going to feel so it has absolutely no impact on the temperature of the room--it just generates noise. I'm not the kind of person I'd ever have imagined to find peace in a white noise machine but it makes me feel calm(er). It's one of the cheapest ones on Amazon, but don't let that put you off--a white noise machine doesn't have to be costly to be effective!

░░░░░JUST AS GOOD AS THE MARPAC DOHM░░░░░ ❖ I have had the Marpac DOHM (the more expensive more popular white noise machine) for a few years. I wanted to add white noise to my daughter's room. This Sleep Easy machine is just as good. ❖ The actual fan inside, rather than a digital reproduction of a fan noise, makes a huge difference in the value of these machines. The sound is more pure, more consistent, and doesn't flake out at time like I've experienced with digital units. ❖ It's loud. This may seem like a detractor, especially if you use it for sleeping, but within minutes you are completely immune to the volume of the machine and forget it's there. Yet it's still providing a steady background noise that keeps you from hearing every bump and creek of the house at night. (On in this case, keeps my daughter from hearing every cry and scream from her baby brother's room) ❖ For technical specs, it produces a single tone air blowing noise, similar to a fan. (Similar, because it IS a fan. It just doesn't make wind.) It does not getting louder and softer like the sound of waves crashing on the beach. It's a steady noise. It's kind of hypnotic. ❖ If you have a need for a white noise machine, get this one. I've gone through 2 digital versions prior to this and both broke quickly, never performing well before they broke. This one is similarly priced to the digital ones anyway. ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°

This Review will be comparing the Marpac DOHM-DS with the Sleep Easy. I'm a light sleeper and I live on a busy street so I decided to purchase a noise machine for some white noise during the winter months when running a fan or A/C unit is not practical. I initially purchased the Sleep Easy because it was so cheap compared with the Marpac and initially I was really impressed. It put out a really consistent white noise and I slept great. After about a couple weeks, however, things started to change. I noticed a slight unevenness to the sound that wasn't there initially. There was this subtle rattling noise that would wake me up and it would drive me nuts! Remember I'm hypersensitive to noise (I'm the guy that takes clocks off the wall when I go to my grandma's house because they drive me bonkers). So I decided to hop back on Amazon and purchase the Marpac and I can tell you the quality difference is noticeable. The Marpac produces a CONSISTENT noise which is paramount for a sensitive sleeper like myself. I've had it over a month and it sounds just like the day I first turned it on. My wife can't tell the difference between the two because she just isn't as sensitive as I am. Conclusion: If you just need something to keep your baby asleep get the Sleep Easy If you just want some background noise, but don't care so much about subtle inconsistencies get the Sleep Easy If having consistent, high quality sound is really important to you (you know who you are) get the Marpac because you'll wind up getting it anyways down the road. Basically the Sleep Easy feels like it is built cheaper than the Marpac (reflective in the difference in cost). Only pay for the increased quality if it matters to you. Answers to some negative reviews: They are both plenty loud for sleeping purposes. I used the low sound setting on both.

It's perfect! It has more than 2 volumes because you can adjust the holes where the air comes out. Constant fan noise keeps my little guy sound asleep. Can't wait to buy another one!

La unidad funciona a 120 V, no a 230, y no hay advertencia al respecto en la caja. Arranqué y el motor pronto se averió. Si sabe que está vendiendo un producto a un país donde los enchufes funcionan a 230V, debe notificárselos. Muy decepcionado, no lo recomiendo!

Cumple su función, solo que tiene poca vida útil, al año deja de funcionar, ya me paso con dos aparatos iguales.
