Flaky relay terminals
Bought this for the relay function. As another review has noted, the relay terminal is not sturdy at all. Mine broke off the first time I attempted to connect wires to it. Opened it up and one terminal leg was off (cold solder joint), and the second leg had ripped off the circuit board trace. Not worth my bother to get an RMA, repacking, and mailing it back, so I'm going to try soldering it back and see if I can get it to work. If not....it will probably just be an ordinary water alarm (albeit more expensive than my other ones).

Good to find a product that exactly meets my needs.
I wired this up as an auto shutoff for my well pump. Our water softener plumbing is getting on in years and we are a little paranoid about any leaks quickly overwhelming our small sump and French drain system. I tested it a few times and it works well.

relay works but primarily it was designed as alarm
Relay portion of the allarm is not well designed. I had to unscrew five screws to get to the section that allows one to choose to have relay normally open -NO- (default) or NC, battery is in a way of relay terminal and terminal itself is not very sturdy.Alarm portion is less sensitive and loud than $10 water alarm from Home Depot. For relay output to work well water detector should have, preferably adjustable, delay to engage it's relay to avoid short cycling. I would also like a way to lower alarm volume to conserve battery so the relay stays engaged for longer since I'm using the detector in NC position and want it to disconnect when water is detected.Since I could not find anything better on the market for under 25 bucks I give this device four stars even with shortcomings described above.

It works.
It works. You can also open it and switch the relay between normally open and normally close. The only thing I expect is for it to also provide a socket, maybe a 3.5 mm mono earphone jack or in other standard so that I can plug in my own sensor line, in addition to the one comes with the unit.

Works as Anticipated
Works as anticipated. I use it to monitor the control circuit of a water pump in the basement. If the senses water, it sounds an alarm and shuts down the pump to prevent flooding.
