The Ecstatic Experience: Healing Postures for Spirit Journeys

Beautifully written informative book, that came to me very quickly and was well packaged. Because the item came to me today, I immediately dived into the book and I am half way finished (couldn't put it down).

I own several books from Felicitas Goodnman; Where the Spirits Ride the Wind and Ecstatic Trance A Workbook and one other that does not focus on body postures but glossolalia, this book is the first I've bought on the subject of ecstatic postures from Belinda Gore. I have practiced many of the ecstatic body postures for several years and only some of them have worked, others I've struggled with but have seen results, and yet others have been down right uninviting as if a "do not enter" sign was hung on the posture; perhaps the culture your from does play a part in which postures works best because the ones Ive explored that are most similar to my culture have been almost instinctual as if it was something i remembered after forgetting for a long period of time, at least that seems to be my experience. I have 5 or so postures that work incredibly well for me, the vast majority of them being divination and metamorphosis. These books are a incredibly valuable source of information that should not be lost, but do not fret or get frustrated with the postures, learning to achieve trance either with a rattle or drum takes time a practice.

So I bought this to read VIA kindle app for android. Nowhere did amazon mention that you do not receive the included CD (or as one would assume purchasing digitally, an MP3). This extra perk was a large part of why I even purchased the book. I hope others will be informed by this if the CD is part of the reason for considering purchase, as Amazon clearly does not inform it's digital customers of such things.

I bought this book here because I lent my original out and never got it back. This is a staple book for me. I have met and trained with the author herself. Great techniques. Easy to understand. And extremely useful.

Ok, i hate to ruin the party, but i am into "ineffable experentiality" also. And it is absurd to say that specific postures will create particular experiences. I do stuff: yoga, chant, meditate, fast, drum, etc., so i'm in a good position to call on this "emperor-with-no-clothes" situation we've got here in this book. And that naked truth is sad to proclaim. But if you want the book for a joke, or perhaps as an example of extreme new-age wack-a-doodlism, it would be OK. Just make sure you also get the lame CD with the book. The CD, at least is just pure non-ideological sound.

Kindle version of the book is fine but customers miss-out on the rhythm CD that comes with the hard copy - surely in this day and age the CD could be streamed along with the book?

This book is easy to understand and very interesting. The cd contained with the trance rhythms is mesmerizing. I haven't found the courage to attempt one of the postures yet, but will in the near future. Wish me luck!

A book that carries on/brings forth more ancestral knowledge that the book Ecstatic Body Postures brought to us.The included CD is very good as it reinforces a more Heart Centered type of drumming and rattling that I have already been introduced to by Spirit.
