Looking around at manual juicers, this model was expensive, but it seemed like good quality and less bulky than the others, so I chose it. After a few days of use, I'm very pleased. It's really easy to use and makes great juice. I was concerned about the size of the pressure cup and strainer cone which some reviewers thought was too small and which is not as wide diameter as some other models, but it has worked fine for me even with extra large-sized oranges and average-sized grapefruits. Maybe with extra large grapefruits, the cup is a little small, but it hasn't been an issue for me. The machine is very sturdy and the build is high quality. The only flaw I noticed is that the inside of the pressure cup is made of aluminum and didn't have the clean finished look of other parts. It seems to me that the manufacturer in China took a short cut there and it would have been better if that part was also stainless steel or chrome like the other exposed parts. However, since it only touches the skin of the fruits and is not visible, I don't think it matters much. All of the parts that need cleaning (4 pieces including the pressure cup) are easy to remove and clean. Overall, I highly recommend this juicer, especially considering its compact size and high quality!

This is one of the best designed pieces of equipment I've ever encountered. Virtually every piece of it is replaceable if necessary, but I've never needed to replace any of its parts. From the gearing to the drip catcher that springs into place when you need it to the way the parts disassemble for cleaning, everything about this juicer shows that a lot of thought went into making it easy to use. I use it on lemons, oranges, and limes. And it's great for juicing pomegranates if you're willing to juice them a quarter at a time.

Really great addition to kitchen appliances. Juicing is easy, quick and gets every bit out of lemon and limes, even hard ones. Everybody needs one!

Been using this every day since I came back from Mexico October 9th. And I mean *every* day. One 8lb bag of oranges from wherever I can get 'em (not so easy in the NE). This unit is well constructed and works almost flawlessly. It is indeed quite easy to clean - just 4 pieces and you don't even need soap just fingers and water. It gets about 95% of the juice out of an orange. If the orange is too large, however, like those horrible navels from Chile, it's very difficult to use in this press. The sides of the peel get cut up by the top piece squeezing down and then not only do you get that bitter rind oil that gets squeezed out but then the peel gets stuck inside. Stick to medium sized navels and you will be fine. As others have pointed out doing grapefruits will not work. As a work around I had to cut a slice out of the middle which made the whole process more tedious and also more juice waste from extra cutting. Also the base is not the sturdiest thing in the world. I know they tried to conserve space and weight by making it as small and compact as possible...but I think they might have been better off if they had made a solid base. Since the handle is off to the right side the unit always wants to twist and thus teeters on the 4 rubber pads. The other slightly annoying thing is the drip cup often times will just slam into your container. If the container is somewhat filled it's not a problem but it did flip over once at the beginning of juicing which was massively annoying. I do like the fact that all parts are serviceable. I plan on using it more often than most people. I also really like the sieve cup - that thing is solid stainless steel and you'd have to be really careless to break it.

This is a very heavy duty unit, vastly superior to the household juicers I have owned previously. Some reviews I had read indicated that the juicer diameter was too small for grapefruit, but I have not found that to be the case. The juicer will easily handle a half of a normal sized grapefruit. The leverage provided by the mechanism is ideal for getting the maximum amount of juice out of a piece of fruit, while the strainer does an excellent job of keeping pulp out of the juice. This is a large unit, so storage could be a problem. It is designed to be easily cleaned. My only quality issue with this juicer is that the metal cap that applies pressure to the fruit is made of a metal that immediately turns dull and gives off a black residue when cleaned. For $200, I would expect this piece to have a better finish that did not make a mess when used. Overall, this is a high quality product that I believe will last indefinitely in a household setting.

Love this juice press. Perfect for all citrus fruits. Have pressed pomegranate too. Other fruit may not work as well but I bought for fresh orange juice. It is strong and stable and easy press squeezes all the juice out.

The juicer does an excellent job at oranges and lemons. I have not yet tried pomegranates. A few reviews mentioned the issue of the head becoming loose and not being able to tighten it. It works like this: The head has a threaded hole (1/4" x 20) with an allen set screw. The wrench needed is a mystery-- it doesn't fit metric and it doesn't fit American, except poorly. If you follow the path of the set screw which is about 1.5", it attaches to the column by first entering a 5/16" hole in the column. It then goes all the way to the other side (the side facing the operator) and the head is locked by the screw pushing against the interior of the column. In other words, it is kind of clamped to the column, not attached mechanically the way it should be. That's why it loosens itself so easily and why no amount of tightening is going to be permanent. Any side to side motion will serve to loosen the grip, not by causing the screw to loosen, but by deforming the end of the screw slightly. Locktite will make matters worse -- you will simply not be able to remove the screw, but there will still probably be head movement. It also serves to beat up the threads of the set screw, as they rub against the column hole, so when it is taken out it also somewhat damages the thread of the aluminum head. There is no danger of the head falling off or becoming disconnected. It is simply ANNOYING and not a good mechanical design, and is not up to the standards of the rest of the juicer. I'd bet the original ones did not have this connection and instead had a threaded hole in the column for the head screw to snug up against, which would be the proper way to design it and would have cost a little bit more. I removed my set screw and replaced it with a stainless steel allen socket head bolt which is easy to tighten; I think the head will not be a problem again or if it is, it will be easy to tighten the bolt, unlike the set screw which easily strips. If this doesn't work, I'll figure out how to put a nut inside the column for the bolt to snug up against and remove the threads in the head. This would be the best solution. Again, the mechanical aspects of the juicer are elegant and make for efficient and enjoyable (and quiet) juicing. The drip catcher is very clever. The parts are easy to clean. I'd buy it again, but it's too bad it needs a bit of modification to make it nice. ******UPDATE******* I uploaded a video showing the side to side play. Once in awhile I tighten the screw. It is better than the old screw because it fits an allen wrench properly and is larger and less likely to strip. All the problems above, remain, and there is no way to make a permanent fix using their system. If I have time someday, I'll rework it so that it is a pull to connection rather than a push away, as it is now.

This unit performs quite well with any fruit that is 3.75" or less in diameter. I have used it for lemons, oranges, grapefruits, and pomegranates. For those of you considering whether to buy this model or one of the cheaper knock-offs, keep in mind that this model is the grandmother of all the others and has performed well for several decades. I believe that, in the past, the strainer was aluminum. It is now stainless, and this is where all of the juice passes through. As another reviewer indicates, the plunger is aluminum and not anodized on the inside as it should be. However, the majority of the juice does not come into contact with the plunger and thus I think that concerns about citric acid and aluminum contact, in the absence of a heat source, are over-stated. This model is stable on the counter top. It takes a forceful, two-handed pull without moving or stripping the gear. The strainer and basket are easy to clean after use; just throw them in soapy water and brush the strainer on the inside to remove the pulp. If I want pulp in my juice, there is often enough on the inside of the strainer that I can spoon it out with a teaspoon and add it to my juice. The construction (high-density plastic, steel, and aluminum) strike me as a little looser and less robust than the model my family had in the 1970s, but I can't say that for sure. I have been using this model almost daily for 9 months and have not had any issues.

Very sturdy and well built. Super easy to clean and easy to figure out even if you don’t read the instructions. It’s simple. It does take a bit of arm strength, so some may find that part “hard” but you can turn it around and face it the other way to use your opposite arm and give the right arm a break. It’s gets more juice out in less time than the elective citrus juicer I have.

Este exprimidor es simplemente genial. Ocupa algo de espacio, pero con un movimiento de la palanca obtienes todo el jugo de una naranja. Es bastante caro, pero la mejor opción para tener jugo fresco (no espumoso) y con un poco de práctica uno se vuelve bastante rápido exprimiendo. La única desventaja, a mi parecer y además del precio, es que no le cabe una jarra grande.

Very nice product, we are soooo happy with it. Easy to use, it doesn't trip over, easy to clean. I make about 1,5 l of orange juice with it daily.

Bought this model years ago, now my child moved out, so I purchased another one for her. Great quality, very durable, easy to use! Don't waste your money on cheap juicers.
