I was hesitant to buy this, because I’m unfamiliar with the Techsmarter brand. Checked a few other products of theirs and found they got generally good reviews, so decided to buy.I bought this instead of the Energizer Qi Ultra, which is recommended by The Wirecutter, because it has the same options as the Energizer (for a little cheaper) and also has waterproofing & wireless charging of the battery itself.Waterproofing• Yes, it seems to be sealed and has a rubber cover over the ports. I won’t try to submerge it, because I really just want something that could stand a decent rain. The rubber cover does seem to be attached with a flimsy band & sticks out ever-so-slightly, but it seals tight.Wireless charging of the battery itself• This is a cool feature I only found on one other Qi battery pack, which retailed for $99. No thanks to that price. I tested this on a Samsung Qi charger, and it worked without an issue.My only gripe (and why I almost gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that the charging pad area doesn’t have a rubber/tackiness that would keep my phone from sliding around. The sides are rubberized, which does help with grip, but not where the phone wound actually charge wirelessly. This is a minor annoyance at home, but may be more annoying when traveling. I didn’t deduct a star because the product images obviously show it doesn’t have that, but it’d be a good addition.As for charging speeds, I can’t measure them exactly, but I’ve observed it charging my iPhone XS Max by 1% every 30-60 seconds, which is better than my non-fast-charge Samsung Qi pad.Overall, I like it and don’t regret buying an unproven brand. I like that they included a USB-C cable and micro-USB cable.

EDIT: Techsmarter has reached out to me trying to understand the issue and they have tried their best in making arrangements with me to provide me with a replacement unit. I therefore decide to change my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars due to their superb after sales customer service. Techsmarter is now another brand that has win my business for life after Anker. It would have make me even more happier if they did correct the issue on the replacement unit to have “mAh” printed, but at least I am assured that they got my message about it and hopefully can do something about it.* * *ORIGINAL POST: I would have to say this is one of my favourite power banks as it is truly a wireless charger where it can charge and be charged wirelessly as well. There are only a couple other options that is doing both as well but the price is much expensive and I am happy with this one.Yes the indication lights are very dim and I always have to put my hand to cover ambient light to be able to see the lights (red light indicates when it’s wireless charging ready).I have been using it for months and it has been working flawlessly. However, right now am at the Beijing airport transferring to Milan and about 15 minutes ago the custom has taken the power bank from me just because it only says “10000 PD” on it and not “10000 mAh” and therefore the capacity is not known without the “unit” and they have to take it away from me ;( I no longer have it with me so I cannot take a picture of the writings on it but please refer to photos that other people have posted.I have been travelling with it a couple of times with no problems, but I just want to raise the issue to you who may decide to bring it abroad.It is a 5 star power bank. But I have to take stars off when the custom gave me a 🤷🏻‍♂️ And took it away from me.

AFTER WRITING the below review, I was contacted by Techsmarter. They were genuinely concerned about the back experience. At this writing, they are sending me a replacement. I appreciate good customer service, and these guys win hands down. I went from one star to five for this!I was so excited to get this. I don’t use it much, but having a portable wireless charger to use and not being tangled with a cable is fantastic. However, I find the status lights too low. Now, it’ll charge for under a minute and disconnect - both wirelessly and tethered. $40 wasted for a paperweight now. Very disappointed.

This power bank has outperformed my expectations. I charged it overnight and used it exclusively to charge my phone while camping. It was able to keep 2 phones charged for 3 days and there's some juice left.It has 1 standard USB port and one rapid charge USB-C port. I used the USB-C port and got full charge in less than an hour.The water proofing seems to work well. It got rained on quite a bit, but I've had no issues with it at all.The build quality feels solid. I have no doubt it will travel with me for a long time.

I have tried several power banks and this is my favorite to date. I have used a power monitoring app for all the charging methods. This one does "fast" charge wirelessly and if a phone is wired to it. It also can charge a device and be charging itself at the same time. I can't seem to get it to fast wireless charge while it is also plugged in, but that is not a big deal. I would also recommend on a future model that the front surface and back surface were perfectly flat instead of having a slight curve. The power bank reminds me of a smooth stone. The phone can wobble a bit on it, but this does not seem to affect charging rates.

The concept of this is great. Two things that could be improved in execution:1. The lights showing charge level and charging are very dim and quite hard to see2. The wireless charging requires a long press on the button which is then tough to tell if it’s on due to dim lights. Only way to confirm Qi is in is to place phone there. After lifting off, the charging stops and cycle needs to repeat.Otherwise, the charger is great and functions as expected.

Charges well. Only gives me 2 full charges. Bulky but not more bulky than others of same power.Had to get used to phone being placed correctly. But now I got it. It was just my not being used to using wireless charging.Yes the lights are faint. But you used to that too. It’s better to have the fiat light in a dark room that very bright lights when you are trying to sleep.
