In love with this bike
After thinking about for some time I decided and bought this bicycle: it looks wonderful and I received compliments from many other riders. As the box arrived I brought it to a local bicycle store to have it mounted and set up for me (less than 60$ for a great job that I wouldn't be able to do at all, so I'm happy with that). I am 5'5", inseam 30, I bought the 52 cm but I'm really on the limits: maybe a 48 would have been better. At the shop they had to cut a bit the seatpost because otherwise my leg would have been completely extended while down. For sure it will be needed some few adjustments but I'm really happy with this bike: light, fast, beautiful, the 105 that shifts wonderfully. The only limit is the guy who rides it :D

Very poor quality-fall apart after 1 year
Great bike in beginning first year i enjoyed ride and I rode hundreds of miles. After 13 month crank shaft and screws started to come apart and now i have to replace middle crank shaft which got twisted from biking. Frame is great but shafts are very poor quality. After spending $1500.00on this bike I feel that I should go for proven brands. Keep your money or by better bike.

What a great bike. I'm fairly new to the sport and have only owned one other road bike so I don't have a lot to compare it to. I will say that it's very comfortable to ride and really smooth. I would recommend this to anyone!

Excellent bike for the $$
Worth every penny! My first Road Bike, and I love it, the frame built, the look the feel...I hesitated to buy it from amazon, when you ask most bikers they tell you to go to your local bike shop, especially if you don't know your size. I went to the bike shop with a tight budget I could barley afford aluminum frame bikes, the good thing is I was able to get them to size me... but end up not buying the bike selection they had, the one was a giant and the other was a trek 1.somthing, not sure why they are so darn expensive, and they were aluminum, the carbon fiber where out of reach at the shop, so I found a website called bikesdirect, almost got Motobecane Grand Record with carbon fork only but didn't have the shimano 105, by selecting better components the price tag got higher and higher,...I honestly couldn't make my mind or justify the prices of some of the bikes I saw, until a clicked on Today's deals on Amazon and stumbled against the Kestrel Talon 2015, it was love at first site, it was still a lot of money which required me to stretch the budget, and a it was kind of a gamble in case it didn't fit me, , but Boy oh Boy I'm glad I did, I couldn't been happier, and have no remorse.Make sure you get a bike fitting, either yourself of at the bike shop. I started the assembly myself and did the bulk part, but I realized that it was more complicated than I thought it would, so I had to take it to a bike shop, to get things tuned correctly. Keep in mind that it doesn't come with a step by step assembly instructions, an other reason to consider taking it to a bike shop for a professional tuning, especially if you're new to this.If you're in the market for a road bike/tri don't think twice, get the Kestrel talon, and don't look back, you will be very pleased.100 miles later still rides smooth, thanks to it's quality carbon frame that helps absorbing socks and vibrations. Hats down to Kestrel for making such quality carbon fiber affordable bikes, and thanks to amazon and it's Today's Deal for making shopping a pleasant experience! If it helps anyone this is the General Sizing Guide for this bike:48cm - 5'5" to 5'7"52cm - 5'7" to 5'10"55cm - 5'10" to 6'57cm - 6' to 6'3"60cm - 6'3" to 6'5"This is a general guide, please consult the geometry chart, or get fitted at your LBS .Sizing is a personal preference, the final choice is up to you-----------------------Over a year latter, still looks and ride like new, just keep with the maintenance every 100 miles or so, cleaning the chain, oil (I use Dumonde Tech), check the tire pressure and any loose components, enjoy your ride

I bought my Kestrel Talon 105 4 weeks ago and 500 miles ago. I could not be more impressed. Finding a carbon bike for less is impossible. Kestrel has a long history in carbon. You add the Shimano 105 groupset w/oval wheels. this bike is as close as you get to a high end bike at a reasonable price. this is 1000 less than anything comparable. I get compliments all the time.

Love this bike!
Been wanting a Kestrel for 20 years and I finally got one. This is a great bike. It is very lite and responsive. The seat is no good though for skinny butts. Put a Sella SMT TRK seat on it and I no longer have saddle fatigue. Takes a bit getting used to how lite it is, like floating on air.
