When I first tried the Epiwand, it just did not seem to work. I read reviews here on Amazon from some people who loved it, and some people who didn't. I ordered it anyway, hoping against hope that it would be useful. Once I received it, I bent it into the U-shape as instructed, and rolled it on my face. Nothing happened. I reread the directions that came with it in the box, applied it again to my face, and still nothing happened. Later that day I received an email from the company who manufactures this instrument. Hannah offered her assistance, and wanted to have my feedback about the Epiwand. I told her I didn't have any success with it, and she sent me a link to a video so that I could see how to correctly use the tool. Finally I watched the video, and I could see what I had been doing wrong. I believe that many of the people who did not give this item good reviews here, may have been missing a very important aspect of using this tool, which I picked up on when watching the video. I've taken some photos to illustrate the missing link. What I had been doing wrong, was that I had maintained the tool in a U-shaped position as I applied it to my face. I turned the handles of the wand, but nothing happened. When I watched the video that was sent to me, I could see that the girl in the video flattened the spring part of the wand (which is the part that removes the hair) against her face, and she maintained pressure so that the coiled spring formed a straight line on her face, rather than a U-shape. This is what makes the tool work! This is what I had NOT been doing! I've attached some photos showing both the incorrect way of using the tool, as well as the correct way. The INCORRECT way of using this item, is keeping it in the U-shape. You do NOT want to do this. I've also attached photos showing the correct way to use the Epiwand, which is to push it firmly against the face AS you also rotate the handles, causing the coiled spring to form a straight line across the face. Another important tip: Faces may be different, and hair growth may be different. I found that if the tool did not pick up the hair with me moving the FLATTENED spring against my face in one direction, it would remove the hair if I moved it in another direction. I not only go up and down on the facial surface, but also side to side. I move the wand at several different angles, to pick up hairs that may be growing differently, or just don't get caught by the tool when moving it in one particular direction. My experience with this company, and with their product has been excellent. Hannah stayed with me, emailing regularly to check on my progress, and was consistently in good communication. This company has superior customer service. I truthfully was very disappointed with the product initially. I just thought to myself... Well... more good money down the drain.... However in this case my conclusion turned out to be wrong. I can truthfully now say that I am thrilled with this product. Before using this wand, it was a tedious job of using tweezers and a magnifying mirror, and even holding a flashlight sometimes! to see and get all the hairs. Plus I couldn't watch TV as I was doing it. I had to be looking into the mirror to figure out where to put the tweezers, or where to shine the flashlight. Bummer. Now I just sit in the recliner, pick up the wand, and move it gently all around my face as I watch a movie or a show. With tweezers, I never got as many facial hairs as I do now with this Epiwand, and never was it so easily done. You can see from the pictures that I'm older, but I know many older ladies who would love this for Christmas. Women of all ages could benefit from the correct use of this ingenious device. I'm a fan! I'll be using only this from now on.

I've experienced pretty much every type of hair removal system for the face and without a single doubt, this is the best home product I've ever encountered. Bending the device into a loop shape, you rotate the handles between your thumbs all while moving the device along your cheek, chin, where ever you want to remove your hair. The hairs are caught between the edges of the spring and pull out without much ado. Yes, it takes a bit of practice to get the motion down, but it's not rocket science and you catch on quick once connect the feeling of the hair being caught and the motion it takes to make this happen. A couple of other points; yes, it hurts, but a whole lot less than threading. I've endured a lot of threading over the years and the slap of the thread against your skin is as uncomfortable as having your hair pulled out. I didn't realize until this little nifty device that half the discomfort of being threaded is the thread slap. Bottom line, the hair epilator is MUCH less painful than threading. And...this even applies to those tender areas like under ones nose... The welts and blood spots from being threaded? Doesn't happen with this device. I've got super sensitive skin (redhead) and threading and waxing always leaves me with blood spots and welts, especially on my jaw edge. I used the Epiwand to do my entire face and not a single welt or blood spot. Very impressive! Bottom line? Excellent product and highly recommended by this menopausal red head. How much do I recommend it? I purchased one as gifts for all my girl friends who also combat facial hair.

Tricky at first. I like to use it while watching TV since you don't need a mirror. I have a compulsion to use my fingers and pluck facial hairs and this thing gets the job faster and saves my fingers from getting sore. The spring holds lots of dead skin and wiskers and haven't found a good way to empty it! I put it into a U and try to blow through the spring, but that only gets some of the dead skin out. It would be useful to have the handles pop off in order to empty it. The handles are a hard smooth plastic which are easy to lose your grip. A rubber grip would be a great improvement. The description says a "gift box" but it is just a paper sleeve. The spring is fragile and it would be nice to have a sturdy protective box that could keep it safe in a pocket or purse. If there was a way to make this operate with one hand, that would be ideal. I'm going to get a small low-speed battery-powered motor and attach to the handles so I can use it with one hand while my other hand can operate a computer or phone. I'm a man who enjoys plucking wiskers, and have gotten tired of shaving. I have to use this every three days. I haven't shaved in a month since I bought my first one. I have two now for convenience. My wiskers are still stiff and black so I don't see them lightening up after a month. It says you aren't supposed to pull your hairs out with this, but I find that you have to slightly push the wand across your face once the hair first gets grasped. Slow and controlled is the key to this. The upper lip hair is quite the painful experience. Plucking a chin hair is satisfying, but a lip hair is like pulling a nose hair. It stings, makes your eyes water, and then you sneeze a couple times. You then have to dry the tears and mucous off you face since the wand isn't supposed to get wet, so you can keep pulling the hairs. It takes time, so don't expect to "shave" in a minute and run out the door. I recorded myself using this for the first time, but am reluctant to post it since there is so many tears and sneezing going on. After I'm done with a session, I'll look in a mirror and use tweezers on any random wiskers I missed. UPDATE: I've been using this thing for over a year, and while it is fun to pull a bunch of chin whiskers out, the hairs don't come back any thinner or lighter. I haven't shaved since I've used these, and I still have exactly the same whiskers as before. Other than that, it does a really nice job pulling out hairs!

Not sure where manufactured and they don't tell you what the metal is... My first one was the bellabe that I bought many years ago. I am trying this one now. There was no user guide with mine and the supposed carry case gift is a complete joke. COMPLETE joke. They really should include a brush to clean out the inside because the hair it pulls out stays inside the coil and trust me when I say it starts to smell pretty offensive as the peach fuzz root stays lodged inside the coil and does what ever it does inside that closed capsule space. Be it ferment or tries to break down. The alloy or metal used on this one is not the same as the bellabe and it effects the grab. See pic. Bellabe is matte and this one is glossy and it doesn't grab as well as bellabe. What should take a few minutes takes about 10 and I still have loads of peach fuzz. If I pass after with my 10 year old bellbe it's like this epiwand didn't pull anything. It's a waste of money. Both this one and bellabe are lacking. They do get out the peach fuzz that is long enough but they don't get out the errant thick strange hairs that come out randomly at a certain female age. You need to do tweezers for those. The root of those is too massive for this to handle. See video

After misplacing our REM Facial Hair Spring Remover, I purchased the Epiwand Facial Hair Remover to see if it was as effective as the brand-name version. Unfortunately, despite having a very similar design, the spring doesn't seem to grab hair quite as effectively as the REM Spring does. To use, simply rotate the two pegs at the end of the spring while light grazing the spring on the surface of your face. The springs catch hairs fairly effectively, and after a few uses, I found that the pain really isn't all that bad. I didn't have any issues with red skin, bleeding, or pain after the hair was pulled out, and like most hair epilating tools, it gets more bearable the more times you use it. For those who have gotten their mustaches threaded, it's about the same pain level, except not quite as shocking as you're doing it yourself. To clean, simply wipe the spring with a clean cloth and some alcohol and it's ready to go for the next use. While this does work it doesn't grab hairs quite as effectively as the REM Spring. I found I had to go over areas more times to get all the hairs, and while it does a good enough job, I would ultimately have to use this spring more times to ensure all those little face hairs are gone. When I ended up locating my old spring, I used it after using the Epiwand and found my suspicions were correct - the REM spring got those smaller, shorter hairs. After a few weeks, I used the REM spring first then went over again with the Epiwand and found the Epiwand didn't get anything else. Overall, while this is a decent spring for the price, I would still not buy this one again simply because there are other options that work more effectively. Overall, this is worth considering if price is an issue, but if you're only going to buy this thing once, I would pay the additional cost for the more effective spring.

It works incredibly well! Yes it caused quite a bit of stinging the first time I used it on my upper lip. It's around the level of using heated wax and yanking. Read the directions and look at the videos to reduce the stinging and really know how to manipulate the tool. Keeping the skin taut is a great tip otherwise there seems to be more stinging and less hair removal. The hair is removed thoroughly and quickly. I cannot use any kind of chemical due to sensitive skin. The first time I used this tool I did a small patch and waited 12 hours to see if my skin became red or irritated. There was no problem. Lately I've found wax of any kind simply isn't working well so the tool is good for me. After hair removal I used a gauze pad soaked in homemade vinegar toner and pressed it against my skin. This works well for me. Buy one and give a try or 2. It's certainly easier, quicker and less messy than other methods. Since it's reusable for quite a long time you will be saving money over other methods.

I bought this product because tweezing all of the individual hairs on my chin was super time consuming and my skin is too sensitive for facial hair removal creams. The Good: -As other reviewers have noted, it is kind of tricky to figure out how to use the Epiwand correctly, but once you do you can breeze over your entire face pretty quickly--definitely much faster than tweezers. -For the most part it left my face feeling baby soft after using it. The Not So Good: -I woke up the next day and sure enough my sensitive skin had broken out, primarily on my cheeks, and after almost a week I'm still struggling to clear it up. -It can get really painful, especially on your upper lip and cheeks. The instructions say that this should become less and less of a problem as you use it more, but to be honest I think it hurt enough to not want to give it another try (I have never waxed before either, so I'm definitely not used to this level of discomfort). -After less than a week I can already see my hairs growing back in. Maybe the hair follicles take longer to grow back with repeated use? But again, it's hard to justify putting myself through the breakouts and the pain for something that may or may not happen. -While it was really effective in removing the finer hair on my cheeks, it was much harder to remove hair on my chin, which is what I was really hoping to use this for. I found myself having to use my regular tweezers for the rest and to still keep having to go back every morning and do touch ups. This could be because I didn't quite get the technique down though. Who knows? Bottom line: While this did a really good job of giving me that baby face feeling right after, the results didn't last long, and because I have sensitive skin, the breakouts and the pain associated with using the Epiwand make me really wary of trying it again in the hopes that it will become more effective and less painful with time as the instructions state.

I was not expecting to be so delighted with this product! It took me a few tries to get the proper technique but it is so worth persevering with this. I used to go the salon every two weeks for lip and chin threading, which was a $30+ a month commitment. Plus, it was painful and always slightly embarrassing. When I first got this product it was a little uncomfortable pulling all those little hairs out, but I have found that if I spend just a minute or two every other day with the Epiwand then the discomfort is absolutely minimal. The less hairs to attend to, the less pain. I would advise anyone to use this for the first time a couple of days after they have had their usual depilation treatment and then use the Epiwand regularly for maintenance. I have had the Epiwand for over two months and I cannot forsee any need to ever visit the threading salon again. Technique wise, you form the Epiwand into a horseshoe shape and then turn the handles inwards whilst SLOWLY moving the curve of the wand against the areas of your face you wish to remove hair from. It's easy and it really works. It has saved me money and time. I wish I had found this product sooner. I recommend it 100%.

Normalmente me hacía el labio superior con cera, pero siempre me dejaba rojeces y ahora en verano me daba miedo que se me pigmentase la zona con el sol. Este producto es la caña, estoy super contenta y se lo he recomendado a mis amigas. Te arranca el pelo de raíz que es lo importante para que no crezca más fuerte y tarde más tiempo en volver (duele un poquito, pero nada comparado con la incomodidad de la cera o de ir pelo a pelo con las pinzas). En mi opinión es más fácil y no tardas nada en hacerlo. Recomiendo ver el vídeo donde te enseñan como hacerlo, que está en YouTube

I have bad facial hair, it comes back every few day... I've done laser, I've naired, I've waxed, and I've plucked...nothing compares to the epiwand! I was concerned that it would hurt or it would be ineffective. However, it does not hurt on the chin, jawline, or neck. It does hut on the upper lip. I am getting some numbing cream to help. But holy smokes, this thing is AMAZING. I was able to remove all my facial hair (chip, jawline, neck and checks) in a matter of minutes and it didn't hurt. Yes, it is uncomfortable, you are pulling hair out, but it grabs many pieces at once and you just roll it out. It is the most expensive one on amazon, but based on how effective it is,...I would have paid more. Life changer.

Si j'avais sû je n'aurais pas attendu d'avoir 60 ans pr essayer l'épilation de mon duvet (beaucoup plus important depuis la ménopause) sur la lèvre supérieure . (je le décolorais avec un produit, j'avais essayé l'épilation à la cire mais plein de petits boutons rouges et blancs pendant 1 semaine , c 'était l'horreur , la pince à épiler demandait beaucoup de temps et le duvet repoussait en poils ) Avec ce ressort c 'est ultra facile , une fois que l'on a pris le coup, efficace, rapide, se transporte partout et ne prend pas de place, ne demande aucune préparation . Aucun bouton dans les jours qui suivent l'épilation, on peut même sortir tout de suite après . ( Mais Je complète l'épilation avec l'huile à base d'huile d'oeuf de fourmi (gutto) et franchement pratiquement plus de duvet et qd je tire sur un poil avec une pince il tombe tout seul )) Ce petit ressort est magique , bon c'est pas très agréable mais au bout de 2 a 3 fois on s 'est adapté a cette sensation on ne peut pas dire que c 'est douloureux ; (la cire à épiler fait bien plus mal et la douleur dure longtemps) . Enplus on peut le faire à tt moment pour être impeccable Rapport qualité prix imbatable

I'm wouldn't normally leave a review, but as someone who has tried every hair removal product under the sun for my upper lip hair, I had to tell future buyers how worthwhile this purchase was for me! Not only is the Epiwand very effective at removing even the smallest hairs on your face, it's really easy to use and doesn't take long to get the hang of it. At just over £10 this product is great value for money considering I was contemplating spending £40 on an electric epilator. I love that it's just one little item, which you can use anywhere as it doesn't need batteries or a mains charging point. The best part about it, is that despite getting those white bumbs after threading and waxing previously, I haven't experienced that with this product. I have already recommended it to my mum and friends! Side note: be prepared to inflict some pain on yourself when using it. Luckily I have a good pain threshold so I soon got used to the sensation.

Vi spiego come si usa, per prima cosa piegate epiwand con entrambe le mani dando una forma a U con la molla verso l'alto. Premete la molla saldamente sulla pelle e girate i manici verso l'interno spostando e facendo rotolare la molla sul viso; in questo modo i peli saranno rimossi dalla radice man mano che finiscono nella molla. Fa un po' male ma poi ci si abitua ma comunque è sopportabile come dolore, è semplice da utilizzare e fa ilsuo dovere.
