Great book for my Dyslexic son
My 8 year old son has dyslexia. He has short term working memory issues on top of other things. However these books aren’t repetitive and don’t use the same words on every other page which is great for him and helps alleviate a lot of his frustrations. Plus they are entertaining to him and read like a book, not a comic book style. Comic book styles are hard and not fun to read to your kid, these are great.

My Book Hater Becomes a Book Lover
(This review refers to the books as a group/series and not this volume specifically) We got two Ricky Ricotta books from a neighbor. My seven-year-old son, going into second grade, has trouble reading and does not like books. He barely likes to be read to. The only book of any size he actually enjoyed was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but he lost interest in James and the Giant Peach, The Wind in the Willows, Howl's Moving Castle, and many others. When he saw these Mighty Robot books he immediately became enthusiastic, and so we now own all seven (and are looking forward to the last two in the series), and we read every night, at least one chapter, sometimes five chapters. He stares at the pictures, arranges the books in order, carries them around the house, and we have long discussions about the stories and the characters. As some of the reviewers have noted, the books are constructed cheaply, and the flip-o-rama (where a page is flipped back and forth to give the illusion of animation) makes short work of the bindings, but they're not expensive books to replace (just buy them new). I need to send Dav Pilkey a thank-you letter. I don't know how he knew how to get my son interested in reading.

Ricky Ricotta wins again!
I didn't read this book. This book was for my kid. They love Ricky Ricotta and reads and re-reads these books often. I'm excited for there to be more volumes because these stories keep my kid reading. The book itself comes in great shape, had no damage at all.

Great begining chapter book for young readers - 5-6 yrs old.
Ricky Ricotta's Might Robot is an awesome early chapter book series. My son who started reading this easily at 6, found them fun to read. He loves the series and ability to go through chapters. With the series you follow a mouse - Ricky, who makes friends with a giant robot. They together stop the evil bad guys from the other planets. Too bad we didn't have more planets, or I'm sure there would be more books in the series. Overall, its a great book, and I have even enjoyed the stories as my son has read them to me. Additionally, the coloring and artwork on these newer color books are a total step up from the original black and white versions. Trust me, if you have a little boy who likes to read, this would be a fun book for him.

Good
My visually challenged child can read the words, and it’s a chapter book.I’m so glad the author spells the words correctly. Mr. Pilkey, if you ever read this, I want you to know that my kid reads your books and loves them. I appreciate that the words are big enough for a child who is legally blind to read, but would appreciate it if he would recognize that kids his age who only read Pilkey books eventually become horrible spellers.

Awesome book
We loved it. It’s cool. It’s a really good book the best part was the pizza. and you might want to make more in the future. It was good. We liked the part when the robot changed the heads. It’s funny. Good job, Mr. Pilkey.

These books are on the shorter side, but the Ricky Ricotta series is one of a very few series of books my 7 year old, who was a stubborn reader, would actually pick up and read on his own. He loves to read these books to me and tell me all about Ricky Ricotta's latest adventures. I credit these books with encouraging my son's newfound love of reading by making reading fun for him with stories that entertain him - and the few flip book style pages that seem to be incorporated into each book.
