Why do you show the sleeve length when they are short sleeve shirts - can you show the chest size ?

I think the "size chart" shown for this shirt is a type of universal chart suggested by the shirt maker and/or Amazon, irrespective of whether it is short- or long-sleeved. When buying a shirt (and I've bought 100s of them), sizing is typically by neck and sleeve length. Only when a shirt is sold by the more broad S-M-L-etc. sizes do they get into chest measurements. Rather, in dress shirts, in addition to the sleeve and neck sizes, you will see they are full cut, tailored fit, slim fit, etc. There must be built-in presumptions that stated neck sizes are always associated with an accepted chest size, too. I take a 15 neck in a full-cut shirt, and I think that equates to a 38-40 chest, which is usually called a Medium. It works for me. I just scanned the Internet and there all kinds of neck/chest conversion charts, so I don't think that you can automatically presume that a given neck size for this Van Huesen shirt will surely be a given chest size. In my personal case, the 15" neck I ordered was quite roomy in the chest and torso, probably more a 40" chest than a 38-39. I doubt that you will be given a concrete answer from anyone regarding this specific shirt; it probably varies upon which factory and country of origin the production order went to! This may not be a helpful answer, but I think most people would order a shirt like this based on the given neck size, and just hope it fits well all over. Again, this is a full-cut shirt, so I think you can expect it to be on the roomier side.

My son is 5’8” and 210lbs with some bulk around the belly. What size neck would fit his overall size?

My husband is about the same weight and description but about 5' 11" and the 17 1/2 fits fine. I thoughts the actual shirt size was quite generous.

Nice, comfortable shirts; maybe no iron, but still do up nicely if ironed

Cameo Blue is a little darker than the Lake Blue, which was unavailable when I ordered. I have white, yellow and his blue. All fit great in this classic fit, if even a little form fitting. I am a little between sizes and need the 16 neck, so it’s not to be helped. So … very comfortable short sleeve for summer, with or without a jacket, here in Florida except for a few months in the winter season, or an exceptionally formal business or social occasion. I still iron and starch my shirts regardless. These might get by as permanent press/no iron, but I am picky. At a $5 a piece for laundry, I have the time in retirement to do them. It’s was many years into my career before I could afford for anyone else to do them for a $1.25 @. So, I am not that far out of practice, and I bought a new iron a couple years ago …

Best value in short-sleeve poplin dress or semi-dress shirts

It is difficult to find a decent short-sleeve poplin semi-dress shirt in nice colors or patterns. I used to buy Stafford shirts until J.C. Penny closed their stores. These Van Heusen shirts are the best match for what I prefer to wear on a daily basis. They are comfortable, fit well, and have good collars.

This shirt looks good for summer and any occasion. It is lightweight, breathable and opaque. The care is easy, just follow the care instructions and remove from your dryer promptly to keep it from wrinkling. It is cut well for the indented use. I like this brand and will buy again as the need arises.
