Garrett ACE 250 with Water-Proof Searchcoil and Headphones

I bought this detector in early 2017 just starting out based on the reviews for new users. I am extremely happy I chose this model. It is very user friendly and easy to learn the tones. That being said you can't just buy it and expect to go anywhere and find good stuff. You have to be in the right location. My cousin went with the AT Pro and it is sweet, definitely a nicer detector, but also comes with a hefty price tag. I have been finding just as much stuff with my ace 250. If you're new to the sport and don't want to dump a butt load of money because you're unsure of you'll be into it or not you won't be disappointed with this metal detector. Buy yourself a good digger and a pin pointer and you'll be all set. Happy detecting!

I have only used this product 4 or 5 times since I bought it, but it works pretty well.I like being able to switch it to different modes depending on what I'm searching for.The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the beep is waaaaaay too loud and obnoxious, and I can't seem to find a volume control button to turn it down.I just deal with it when I'm using it in my back yard. But if I go out in public, I always wear the headphones so that other people don't get annoyed.Aside from that I really like it. It's fun!

I bought this to find property line markers. I researched and this is the one that slot of people recommend starting with because it is a good quality unit that can be used for more than just playing. Not a kids toy kind of detector.I like the pinpoint option and that it tells you what kind of coin your detecting. Found 3 coins under our gravel drive pretty quickly. For property lines I may have issues because the place was fenced in the past and the old bar wire is barried under the ground over the years. Pretty cool though regardless.

Love this detector already and haven't even figured it all out yet. Love the setting, very easy to distinguish the sounds, light weight and easy to handle.

Great machine, easy to learn, suitable for adults, and kids. I have upgraded to a water-proof unit. But the 250 remains #1 for the most Gold and articts I have found. I still bring it when I go with friends so they can learn.

First off the package deal is weird, cause two pairs of headphones come. I guess it already has headphones, then the package deal comes with another pair, which are a touch better. Videos are the same ones that are already on youtube. The package deal is not really worth the extra money. I bought a couple of these for the salt water beaches here in southern california to find little treasures on the beach and around the water. I didn't do my research and found these aren't the right type for around the highly mineralized sand and the iron in the black sand. This machine sounded like a vegas slot machine going nuts. It should tell you this metal detector is horrible at any salt water beach, but it doesn't. Dont' get this if you want to go to an ocean beach. Think I may bite the bullet and get the Garret AT pro. This machine would be good for parks, and small digs. Good for a youngster.

We've only used this metal detector a couple of times so far, but it's certainly doing the trick. Took some time to figure out all the functions, but what we particularly like is the ability to adjust settings for the type of metal we're trying to find. Our main purpose was to find buried rebar that marks our property lines, so being able to eliminate superfluous metals made our job so much easier.
