Great book with great pictures and story. Bought this for a Christmas gift

This is a wonderful book about the passing of Abe Lincoln. I read it to my first graders but it is certainly pertinent for every grade level.

It gives the readers and listeners a sense of Abraham Lincoln's enormous importance to America. This is definitely a book out of the ordinary. It is a refreshing book to read to your kids.

This is an informative, poetic telling of the fact that after Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, his body was returned to Springfield, Illinois, on a special funeral train (a map is provided) that traveled through as many Northern cities as possible, so that citizens could come to show their respect. The author chooses to tell the story through the eyes of one boy, who with his father makes a special night-time buggy drive to where citizens will gather to view the train as it passes by. A beautifully told story.
