Great addition to my Model Y
Took me a while to get this set up and finally on to the car, but now that I finally did it will be on and off every week. This is the perfect addition to my Model Y, I was looking to not put garbage, grass clippings, and other junk in the back of the new car. I got it with a tow hitch so this was the perfect solution. I needed a hand getting it assembled and had to purchase a hitch pin but once it's on it works exactly as promised, holds two full garbage cans on grass clippings or whatever else. Folds down nicely was able to mount it to the garage wall. A good purchase for a reasonable price.

Great setup easy to setup
Great product. Was easy to setup on the back of my chevy van. It adds a bunch of new storage. I also ordered the lid with a chain and lock to be able to lock up my gear in it. Got a big plastic heavy duty tote to put in there. I also ordered a solar backup camera to put on, as it did block my vans built in camera. The only issue is it limits how much I can open the barn doors on the back of my van, but so far I can manage. Otherwise seems well made and secure. Have traveled a few hour trip with it and everything was nice and safe.

Nice and easy assembly
This is really nice, haven’t used it yet but love the higher side walls for the extra security. Only issue I had was while putting it together on the nuts is stripped and will be contacting the manufacturer to see if they will send a replacement.

A lotta work for not a whole lotta usefulness
I have mixed feelings about the product, though not necessarily the fault of any manufacturing or design problem. Plus, I'm pretty sure this is one of the best ones on the market, so it only goes downhill if you choose others. The initial assembly is fairly simple. The sides fold up and are held in place with pins. I added zip ties to keep the pins hooked to the corners when not in use. It's a tad tricky to determine which way the Z-shaped tongue goes in relation to the hitch and to the basket anchoring; you could easily hang it upside down.Attaching it to my trailer hitch takes a good 10 mins each time. You have to hold all 50# of the basket level while sliding it into the hitch then holding it with a cross bolt. It helps to mark (i used a thin paint marker) the optimal insertion point where you can easily push the pin through to hold it.the black paint, as others have noted, scratches or rusts easily and quickly, so over time this could be a problem. The square tube that slides into the hitch also is prone to rust and scratches.I spent 5 bucks and added more red reflective tape for safety. My biggest gripe involves the limitations of having something hanging off your hitch. My Subaru Outback can only have a "tongue weight" of around 270# total. A normal trailer could weigh a ton or more, but that weight is distributed onto the tires. Anything too heavy hanging off your car probably will snap the hitch off the frame. So in my case, a 270# max minus 50# of basket means my cargo cannot exceed 200#. At 40# per damp bag of yard mulch, that's no more than 5 bags yet the volume of the basket probably could hold 8 bags. Again, not necessarily a product defect but a problem with devices of this nature hanging off the car.Oh, and if you have a camera that protects you from backing into something, it will see the basket and slam on the brakes as you back up; disable the camera while using. In the end, I'm having second thoughts and think that maybe i should have bought a small, short trailer instead. Though it would present driveway storage issues, i would have a significantly higher cargo weight and volume limit with something balancing the load on tires instead of hanging off the car frame and hitch. This product is generally well built, but the difficulty in installing or removing it quickly discourage frequent use and make me wonder if i didn't really want a small trailer as i initially thought.

Great, Sturdy Carrier
We have now taken this carrier to hold our dog fencing (about 120 lbs. worth) behind our 35' 5th wheel on three trips, each between 3000-4500 miles and it has worked really well. The gate folds down nicely (it would be nice if it dropped straight down) to load and unload and I use a hitch clamp to solidify the hitch so it doesn't sway at all.In addition, we installed tail lights for added safety in low-light situations which we experience most trips at some point. This is a great carrier for a good price and I highly recommend it.

Very useful cargo carrier
I did a lot of research on this cargo carrier. I had a low lip cargo carrier that served me well for several years. I wanted a high wall cargo carrier so I could transport my 2 camp cots. This carrier was perfect. Not only did I fit my two cots I fit 4 duffle gym bags, a fan, backpack and a large sleeping bag. I really like the feature of it being further out from my hitch from my previous carrier. (Previous carrier caused exhaust burns on a piece of luggage.) I also like the ease of putting up and taking down the walls (don’t lose the pins - I keep mine in a ziplock bag in my cargo strap tie-down bag). Also you will need a hitch pin. I had one from my previous carrier. When at camp I simply remove the carrier from the hitch, bungee the side walls in place and use by bicycle lock and secure it to a tree.

Broke during road trip but seems like a good product
Very inconvenient that it broke during our road trip had to pack everything inside our car as we were afraid to use it as we didn’t want it to break more during our trip. The customer service people say free returns, but they tried to charge me for the returns. They created labels for me and when I went to return them they deducted money off of my return for shipping which isn’t free returns. I had to call Amazon and file a claim and they took care of it and gave me back the money these guys tried to take. Misleading.
