A Modern Reiki Method for Healing

This is one of the most comprehensive Reiki books out there. It reveals the perspective that Reiki is not only a healing art, but also a profound path of spiritual development. Included in this book is a detailed history of Reiki, discussion of the differences between Western and Japanese Reiki, description of Reiki training and the use of the four symbols, as well as an extended instruction in how to use Reiki as a spiritual practice. This is a major difference between Western and Japanese Reiki: in Japanese Reiki it is acknowledged that one's ability to transmit and be transformed by Reiki happens over time through consistent practice. After practicing Reiki for over 20 years myself, I can attest that this is indeed the case. I highly recommend this book for every Reiki practitioner and teacher.

I’m currently learning Reiki and this was the first book recommended by my teacher. I’ve only taken Reiki 1 so far so I’ve only read as far as what I learned in class, but I take Reiki 2 this month so then I will continue on through that section. All in all it’s a great, easy to understand book for Reiki students and really helps you absorb the information that you might need to review again once your class is over and you are studying/practicing on your own.

Hiroshi Doi is a wonderful Reiki master, who also talks about self-realization. But Reiki can only be a transitional stage and not the final truth. I myself am a trained Reiki master in western style and a teacher in Japanese Reiki (here it should be clear that Life is the only true master and teacher). I realized that Reiki is just a help, a crutch that you have to let go of at the right time. If you are interested in enlightenment or awakening from the illusion of separation, I can recommend Dirk Hessel's book 'Awaken to Life'. This author has realized what he is writing about and goes far beyond the knowledge of all Reiki techniques. He popped up recently, and for me he is 'the new Eckhart Tolle' combined with the radical depth of Nisargadatta.

I use this translation in correlation with the manuals I got from my teacher. I am a Gendai Reiki Shihan (teacher) since December 2015. This a wonderful updating to the traditional practices that combines the simplicity of the Japanese styles with the practicality of Western style. There is always a little something lost in translation, but I use it mostly for self-healing right now and the practices are powerful.

This book IS AMAZING. I'm so thankful that they translated this work into english. I love this book so much that i immediately purchased another copy of it because I lost sight of my first copy for a few hours! The information in this book is invaluable to those of us attuned to reiki and those of us who have yet to be so attuned. It really is priceless. I would highly recommend this book to all people interested in subtle energy arts such as reiki. It is a goldmine of information.

This is a great book about Reiki. Easy to understand this spiritual way by Hiroshi Doi Sensei's guidance. There are very powerful practices for Reiki practitioners. Especially to me as a Gendai Reiki school student.

As a reiki master of long-standing I didn't expect to learn much, but it was recommended so I bought it. Now I am recommending it in my turn. The author brings so much excellent history to light, the hours slid by as I read, but I didn't even notice. You will be glad you invested your time as well. Every master, no matter how well trained, should read this .....

This book was recommended to me by my Reiki teacher. It is all the he said it would be. "The true meaning of Reiki". Easy to read. Easy to understand .

Dissappointing not what I expected. I am on a Lineage from Hiroshi Doi for reiki and from the title and decription I was expecting a translated book in English of Hiroshi Doi. Instead it was a William Rand spin and William Rand book on reiki. Not what I expecting from title, not worth buying better books with more substance out there

Perfect book for learning reiki. I completed my level 2 reiki but needed something more to study. Fantastic. It should be supporting all reiki courses. It translates reiki from its Japanese root and applies it to the western world.

Libro arrivato in perfette condizioni e in tempo. Questo libro lo consiglio veramente tantisssimo! Contiene informazioni molto interessanti che sono state scritte bene e in modo chiaro. Un must have.

Et oui la dernière version du livre de Hiroshi Doi est disponible uniquement en anglais. Mais pour les praticiens et enseignants de Reiki, toutes écoles confondues, il représente un véritable trésor, vraiment riche en informations, Hiroshi Doi nous livre beaucoup de secrets suite à son parcours de 1993 à 2014 au sein de la GakkaÏ, l'association de Reiki fondée par Mikao Usui au Japon en 1922.... Bref un excellent ouvrage qui m'a apporté tellement d'informations vraiment importantes. Par exemple nous apprenons qu'a l'époque de Mikao Usui, le Reiju qui était transmis par Mikao Usui Sensei et qui est encore transmis à la GakkaÏ ne connectait pas le Seika Tanden aux autres corps énergétiques, nous apprenons alors que Hayashi Sensei à du mettre à jour et adapté le Reiju pour impacté l'ensemble des corps énergétiques et les chakras. Le Seika Tanden était déjà connecté chez les Asiatiques et la plupart des élèves japonais de l'époque, mais pas chez les Occidentaux. Ce n'est qu'une information parmi tant d'autres que nous explique Hiroshi Doi...
