Sennheiser Presence Business (506066) - Dual Connectivity, Single-Sided Bluetooth Headset for Mobile Device Connection (Black)

This headset is amazing and well worth the purchase price. I can hear and understand people very well and they hear and understand me very well! The talk time is more than I need for a day, so there's no recharging mid day anymore! The controls are simple to operate. I had to learn to speak at a normal speaking volume with this headset because people at the other end don't hear most background noise around me and so there's nothing I need to talk over for them to hear me--very different from previous headsets! So if I don't speak at a normal volume, they tell me I'm almost too loud at their end. The volume is great at my end. I keep it set about mid way. Otherwise people I'm talking to start becoming too loud for me. I am guessing some other reviewers saying they can't turn the volume up as loudly as they wish sometimes must be a function of their phone and not the headset. I am assuming everyone hears normally of course. I am amazed people can't hear fans, doors, other people, wind, etc. from my end. They tell me it simply sounds quiet where I am when I ask them if they can hear these things. I can drive up to 55 mph with my window all the way down with this headset on my ear away from the window (quieter and safer for the headset), and people hear me clearly and don't hear the wind!!! Over 55 mph they begin to hear some very quiet wind. In the past, I had to use the car system with my window rolled up for people to hear me better while driving. To restate, I no longer have to drive with my window rolled up during phone calls!!! I no longer have to switch from my headset to my car bluetooth system and back again when getting in and out of the car during phone calls!!! These two benefits alone are HUGE!!! A griddle standing against a wall fell over on my stove top while I was standing right there. It made an enormous clatter and, when I asked the person I was talking to if they heard that, they said no, it had been silent at their end. I strummed an electric guitar (not plugged in) and they couldn't hear it. I strummed a nylon string guitar loudly, and they heard it a little bit. My final test was flushing the toilet, and unfortunately, people can hear this perfectly at the other end. (Sennheiser, you need one more sound filter on this!) This as an absolutely beautiful headset in looks, ease of operation, quality, and functionality. It's a wonderful, wonderful headset. It is totally worth the price. For those trying to understand the different purchase options, if you don't need this headset to work with anything but your mobile phone, you can skip the UC hardware bundles that cost more than the simple Presence Business bundle.

Not an upgrade to the Blueant Q2 I already have. MAIN BIG ISSUES: 1) Even the smallest ear piece hurt my ear after only a few minutes of wearing it. 2) The sound was fine, but others could hear the noise-cancelling effects as a light squealing. 3) Also, they could hear strange silences when I would speak and then a static when they talked. 4) You CAN'T say "answer" or "ignore" - NO HANDS-FREE answering or declining a call like my Blueant. 5) It doesn't announce who's calling or read text messages like my Blueant does. 6) It is bigger and heavier than my Blueant, too. Overall, quite a crappy bluetooth for the price.

Clarity. yup that's all you need to know about this headset. Radio going window down and the person i am talking to cannot hear any of it. I can still hear them though :) the ONLY real draw back to this one is the ear hook as it's gotten a little more use starts to disconnect from the headset itself. They should probably have designed it with a barb so that is goes in but takes more effort to come off. Not off your head but out of it's little hole. ***UPDATE*** I have owned this headset for good while now.. I must say that the noise cancelling is awesome and the clarity is very good. How many reports and review sites have it as the number 2 headset. I have to say it's at minimum the number 2. I also have purchased the Plantronics 5200. But I have not had it as long as the sennheiser. , I have used dual connectivity between multiple devices. I'm a contractor so I'm always around noise and people I'm talking to on the phone usually can't hear it unless it's a saw that I'm within 5 feet of. When reduction is on point. The clarity of being able to hear people is awesome. I really only have 2 knocks on it. First is the over-ear attachment really is a poor design. It's about the only design flaw I can see in the piece. The second one and it's not necessarily a flaw but something that I've noticed that over the course of time is that battery talk time is definitely diminishing. With that said however I don't think I've kept a single Bluetooth headset as long as I have this one it's durability and sound quality have impressed. I bought some headsets that I've stop using after a month.

Update: Bottom line - the volume on this is just too low. Despite my best efforts to change out the rubber earpiece and adjust the hook on the side, I just couldn't hear clearly, especially if there was any background noise at all. I did end up returning it and replacing it with the Plantronics Voyager 3200 which works much better. First and foremost, the best feature on this device is the sliding boom. Simply put, I am so tired of accidentally calling people because I forgot to turn off the device when I put it in my pocket. The sliding boom makes it almost impossible to forget to do that. Second, this device has without a doubt, the best voice quality for making calls of any device I've owned. It may be even better than my actual phone. Those are compelling reasons to like the device, but here is where it really drops the ball; first, it is not particularly loud. I swapped out the rubber ear piece which was helpful, and it's not unusable, but in loud environments, it may be a little quieter than you'd like. Second, it has a strange glitch where, if you are listening to music or a podcast and someone calls, the earbud will not go back to listening after you hang up. For some reason, you need to turn bluetooth on and off again on your phone to reestablish the audio connection. Lastly, it does not announce who is calling by name or phone number, as some of my previous devices have done. Given the cost, I had expected that feature. So there it is. Works where it is most important, but not as refined as you'd expect given the cost.

Let me just start by saying WOW! I have used several Bluetooth devices in the past but this one EXCEEDS all of them. The clarity on both ends of the call is just crystal clear. Keep in mind, I am a Field Engineer and I work in a loud environment. So, my co-worker and I put them to the test as I told him on how clear this device is. I was working next to a freight train and was talking to him during this time and he told me he could not hear the freight train, quite astonishing. The volume can get loud (I keep mines between medium and low) depending on the work environment. My co-worker was so impressed he compares them to the big and bulky Parrot Blue Parrot headset w/o the big and bulky. I cannot say enough on how well these are made of. The only problem I saw (minor bug) was the mute button. You have to hold down the + and - buttons simultaneously to mute the call. With the device on your ear its kind of hard to press on both buttons at the same time, just easier for me to mute it on my phone rather then the device. Love how the boom turns on/off the unit compared to my old Plantronics. As I said before, the voice quality is incomparable, hands down the best wireless Bluetooth I have owned. Lastly, the other downside other then the mute function are the earpieces. Many reviewers rant and rave about how uncomfortable they are and yes it is true, I had to play with mines and finally got them to work. I removed the ear loop on mines because it does bother my ear with them on. I only use them when I'm in my truck so I don't use the ear loop and the medium ear cushion keeps a tight fit on my ear so it wont pop out. If your thinking about buying them, think no more! Purchase them as you will not regret them. Guaranteed!

I rated this unit 5 stars for noise cancellation, battery life, and sound quality, but only 3 stars overall. What gives? Mostly the in-ear earbud, which refuses to stay in my ear. I have been a devoted user of the Motorola Boom mics for years, but the quality control has slipped so far over the last couple of years that they now break with alarming frequency. The last broke just days out of the box, and I could no longer justify the expense. This unit received excellent reviews, and Sennheiser has a great rep, so I took a chance. Weeks later I'm still not sure it was a good bet. The sound quality and battery life are excellent. Operation is simple, though a bit awkward at times—the volume buttons are poorly placed in my opinion, resulting in finicky adjustments, and the multi-function long-presses don't seem to work as intended. (I cannot for the life of me disable the voice prompts, for instance; the 6-second double-button press described in the manual simply doesn't work. So I'm stuck waiting for the headset to say "Voice dial" before activating Google Assistant, which is a nuisance.) But by far the biggest problem is that the unit does not sit securely in my ear. As a petite person, I find ear hooks uniformly uncomfortable. This one is downright painful, and a recent injury leaves me unable to manipulate anything that finicky next to my ear anyway. I prefer in-ear gels, and one of the things I loved about the Boom was the ability to just leave it in and know it would stay. I leave this in, but I have to fiddle with it a lot. It often feels like it's falling out, and when I reach up to check the fit it's 50/50 whether or not it is. Often I have to reseat it. Sennheiser's buds are useless for me, so I scrounged out the Motorola tips from my last purchase; they work on this unit, and improve my fit somewhat, but do not substantially improve the security of the fit. It's possible it is just too heavy to stay securely in ear without a wider or longer tip to catch more of the ear folds or ear canal. I manage, but it annoys me. A headset this expensive should not be annoying. If you have larger ears, or are comfortable with the ear hook, you will probably love this. If you have smaller ears, are fussy about fit (as I obviously am), or are very active with this headset on, you may be frustrated by it. See if you can try one for a few minutes first. Rating: 5 stars for performance, 3 stars for insecure fit that leaves me unsure the performance will be there (literally) when I need it. Users with larger fingers or who have difficulty with fine-motor adjustments may find the volume buttons difficult to operate as intended.

I am one of those people who don't like keeping my bluetooth earpiece on my ear constantly. So, whenever I am not using it on a call or listening to media, I keep my earpiece in my pocket. I used to use the old Motorola Elite Flip because I could keep it in my pocket and whenever someone would call, I'd pull it out, flip it open, stick it on my ear, and it would turn on and automatically pick up the call by the 3rd time the phone rang. However, those Elite Flips had a very bad build quality. The rocker button that controls the volume would ALWAYS fall off eventually. And the mini USB port would eventually break and cause the unit to go into a factory default mode and I'd have to re-pair it to my phone every time after I charged it. Between losing a few and the others breaking as described above, I must have bought about 10 to 15 of them over the last 10 years or so. I could never find another bluetooth earpiece that I could keep in my pocket without it turning on and/or butt dialing. Then I saw this Sennheiser Presence and liked the sliding boom concept that it presented. The 10 hour talk time also had piqued my interest. However, beacause of the rather high cost as compared to most other bluetooth earpieces I was initially hesitant to try it out. But...I found one on Amazon for the rather reasonable price of about $90. I thought to myself that because it was a Sennheiser product, it must be well made. So, I decided to give it a try. I have not been disappointed in it at all. It is well made, works great, sounds great, and also looks pretty sharp too. I can keep it in my pocket, and when I get a call, I just pull it out, slide it open, and stick it on my ear. I can usually do all 3 steps and have the call connect within 2 to 3 rings. Sound wise, you may have to play with the 4 different sized ear inserts to find the right one. I personally use the ear hook together with the large size ear insert and it works and sounds perfectly. The unit looks kinda big when you see it in photos that show it on people's heads. But as big as it looks, you may hardly even know it's there. It is super lightweight for its size. I did see some reviews that said the sound wasn't loud enough for some people, but that has not been my experience at all. My only guess is that either those people were using the wrong size ear inserts or they did not have the insert properly inserted into their ears. Well, I know that there must be a few people out there who like keeping their earpieces in their pockets just like me, so if you are one of those people do yourself a favor and give the Sennheiser Presence a try.

I am disappointed. I know Sennheiser/Neumman as a purveyor of great audio products. I bought this headset after wading through several lower quality devices. I had hoped that this would prove to be a good investment. Well, it hasn't. Less than 60 days of use and the sliding switch has failed. Device will not remain on in the "on" position. The aluminum slide appears to be of inadequate strength to hold tension on the switches inside the device. The result is that in a short time the device won't switch on due to the poor mechanical contact. I expected better from Sennheiser. I guess I'll go back to the cheap Jabras. In fairness I am returning it to Sennheiser for warranty repair/replace. If the replacement gives better results I will update the rating and review. -- UPDATE -- I did get a replacement. It has lasted over a year but the microphone in the sliding element has failed. I take good care of my tech stuff. I am a bit disappointed and am once again looking for a new headset.

Best quality headset I have tried (at this budget level...) I lost my first one and bought a second after trying a number of others... It's nearly perfect. Pros: Great call quality. Better than the speaker/ mic in my Nexus 5x. The background noice reduction works really well. Seldom can people tell I am driving while using it... I love the simple switch (by sliding the silver part) and the ear hook is very, very comfortable. Neutral: Battery life is decent. No trouble to get a full day of use before recharging. Cons: The rubber cap on the earpiece occasionally comes off in my pocket. A little annoying and will need to be replaced when I inevitably loose it. Occasionally there is some interference/ distortion. I've found turning it off and on again seems to reconnect with a better connection.... It is so good that I don't want to use my phone without it. I look like a dork who talks to myself all the time. Is it possible to buy replacement ear piece rubber covers?

Im using it since long time. Very good. Fast charging, battery ok, Only thing i dont like is the on off slide button. U may switch off by mistake while on call.
