Dream purchase
Wanted a scribe for marking pavers and slabs that wouldn’t roll away. With a magnet on one end I can leave it with my trowel and it’s still there next time. Brilliant.

Sharp, Durable, and Very Handy Tool.
I purchased this carbide scribe for marking tile, metal, glass, and other hard materials during home renovation projects, and it has worked extremely well. The carbide tip is very sharp and leaves clean, accurate lines without much effort. It feels solid in the hand, and the pocket clip makes it easy to keep nearby while working. The build quality is excellent, and it has held up well after repeated use. It's a simple tool, but one that makes measuring and marking much more precise. If you work with tile, metal, or other hard surfaces, this is definitely a useful addition to your toolbox. Highly recommended.

Perfect for glass
Bought this for an art project which involves scraping landscapes into mirrors, and this was a perfect tool! Apart from the loud noise and smoothness, it worked great! If you are careful with your hands then this should work great for you!

Possibly there is an original good one, mine was not that.
If you look at the photos that accompany this product, flicking between them, you can see there are at least 3 different versions. The first image looks like a really well made, tight tolerance, engineering tool. Some of the other ones look a little less so. The one I got was even more "less so". It just feels cheap and poorly made. The General stamp on the barrel isn't even lined up right, sitting at a slight angle. But the worst has to be the collar which holds the nib in place, it never tightens enough, so if you shake it upside down, the nib just falls right out. I've now tightened it with some pliers, and it just about hold it in, still not secure like I'd like. But in any case, this is rubbish, look elsewhere. Personally, I can't work out if the one I got was a fake, a copy, or if General have just given up trying to make good tools and now just get it made as cheaply as possible in other countries. Either way, pretty disappointed.
