Leather Jump Rope

This product is amazing, I love the weight on it. When I first got it, it was a tad bit too long, but it is resizeable which is great compared to the last rope where I had to tie a knot on it making it a bit unbalanced. I do have to put a little bit more effort in turning it than my last rope which is great because it gives me a bit more of a push. Maintenance on the cord is a pain though because of the leather, but I still think it's worth it. My nephew also fell in love with it, so I am planing on giving it to him and buying a new one for myself. Haven't had any problems with tearing or nicks on the cord. Overall high five King Athletic.

First leather jump rope. New to jumping rope and found it is a easy way to get your heart rate up for a quick, easy workout. Not much prep or room needed. I have a heavy braided rope, a metal cable speed rope, a vinyl speed rope and the leather jump rope. They all are different as far as feel and speed. Didn’t know there was so much difference in types,speed and behaviors, Lol! Got the leather because traditionally boxers use them. Great product and awesome price!! First timers, here’s some tips. The rope should be conditioned to make it supple and keep it from drying out. I used mink oil applied with a rag. After several applications over several days it is darkening and the rope has a little more weight to it now. After one more treatment, once or twice a month should do it for maintenance. Also hang the rope up in the middle, do not coil it up and tie it. Start slow and work on technique and speed and proficiency will come, never thought I’d be jumping rope-love it! Highly recommend, going to buy another. Overall the leather is my favorite.

The jump rope was much lighter than I expected, but it does the job. I've read some of the complaints about difficulty adjusting the length, but I found it to be easy - the end caps are easily removed with a thin screwdriver blade and the crimped washer that holds the rope in place can be slid to change the length. I also read complaints about the rope having folds and kinks in it. While this was true at first, the more I use it, the more straight it gets. Plus I treated it with some leather conditioner and hung it handles down from a coat rack, which helped to get some kinks out. I have an above average fitness level, but found jump rope to be very challenging. I plan to do it regularly to improve my fitness! I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I haven't had a jump rope since I was a kid, although I've used my daughter's one on occasion. This one is waaaay better than the one I used back in the day! I use it on my wooden deck and driveway and it is terrific. The length is easily adjustable, and the weighting of it seems perfect. I was going to get one elsewhere, made of wire cable but was afraid it might be too loud for my neighbors or would mar the deck boards. But this one is leather, and is perfect. Highly recommended! Time to get out there and use it; really gets my heart and breathing going.

Nothing difficult about this review. I'll be 33 in a few days and am tired of results of eating and drinking too much. 6'0, 220 lbs. My goal was to add rope a daily routine and this seemed like a high-quality product at a good price (though I don't know the market for ropes that have handles on them). 1. Shipping - I had UPS notices on my apartment door days before I expected them. The rope arrived faster than I expected, even as a Prime member. 2. Description - Item arrived new in box with no defects, packaged appropriately. I like the look. Though I did not manipulate the length of the rope, it looks like it'd be very easy to pop the tops off the handles, feed the rope through, and tie off wherever you need. The leather rope is lightweight but has no response issues and has that classic sound. Bearings in the handles seem to be fine. A high quality product and easy to use at home.

When I think leather jump rope, I see myself going full Eye of the Tiger, warming up with the jump rope, preparing for the fight 100% in the zone! While I can't guarantee this jump rope will transform you into Rocky, it will give you a great workout! The handles are padded which makes it easier to keep a good grip, the rope feels very sturdy and of good quality. And as I learned, after being slightly more ambitious than my calves were prepared for, you will get a workout that you wont soon forget! The cherry on top of this great product is the warranty and guarantee! If you are in the market for a jump rope, you can't go wrong giving this one a try!

Received it yesterday. It's junk. Here's my issues: 1. Very unflexible leather. It's not conditioned, and is dry and brittle. It also holds kinks, and is very inflexible. Reminds me of leather shoe laces on a work boot. 2. Cheap handles made of flimsy, thin plastic. I'm afraid to use them, because they will probably break. 3. Very light. In fact, too light. I like ropes with weight to them for feedback during a workout. This rope is too light. I tried spinning it, and I had to wonder if I was even holding a rope. No feel. No weight. No work out. Save your money. Find a rope that has weighted handles and a strong cord. I have to question the previous reviews. I wonder if they were paid to give it 5-stars...

When the rope needs to be made shorter, the extra slack goes inside the handle but this will not spin with the bearing. To maintain the functionality of the bearing, the extra slack of the rope needs to be cut so the rope can spin freely inside the handle. The rope stays inside of the handle through a bent washer so cutting it shorter requires bending another washer or just simply tying a knot. The thickness of the rope is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the bearing but will engage the bearing when jumping rope. Other than these things, the jump rope is as to be expected. The handles have a nice thickness and padding and are comfortable.

I love my new skipping rope. I have only used it a couple of times so far but I really enjoy the material and the handles when I do. It is firm and it allows me to exercise very efficiently.
