Better than expected
I'm using this table for calligraphy and always have it tilted as shown in the photos. The legs and cross struts are all beech and the top appears to be medium density particle board with beech veneer. It's very well made and finished; it's almost like a piece of furniture rather than just a drafting table. It went together smoothly and everything fit very well. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. There was an error in specifying which screws were to be used for the feet and which to use for the foot braces, they were switched. It was immediately evident since the length of the screws is different and would not be usable as specified. Other than that it was an easy assembly. The packaging was great, there was no way that it could suffer any damage short of being run over by the delivery truck.

Very well made drafting board.
This is extremely well made and much nicer than I thought it would be. Takes a while to put together but well worth the effort. Wood is nicely finished.

Quick and easy to put together
Very easy to put together. Looks great. Very sturdy. The size is perfect for my daughter. She uses it due homework, uses it for drawing and Legos. The table is very easy to move and angle.

I am very happy with this purchase
What a great drawing table. With all the choices available on Amazon, nostalgia won out as this is table is similar to the kind we had in my high school art classes, many years ago. After I placed my order, I was a bit concerned of the quality of a solid wood table at this price. It turns out that the quality is very good. It's a very solid table when put together. It's not a huge table but its size is more than adequate for most people. The height is adjustable. I'm six foot, and it didn't take raising it much to make it comfortable for me to use. It still has another eight inches, or so, before it would be fully extended. I really like this table. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the assembly instructions. The instructions are fine as assembly is fairly simple. However, my issue is with the hardware list. They give you no info on the sizes of the screws and bolts. I have a cat who is a kleptomaniac. She has a thing for coins, screws, nails, and bolts. When I took everything out of the shipping box, all the hardware was there. When I was nearly finished putting the table together, I left the room for a couple of minutes. When I returned, I soon discovered a bolt with a star knob attached was missing. I'm assuming my cat took a liking to it and made off with it. I'm sure it's somewhere in the house but who knows if I'll ever find i? A trip to a hardware store will solve the problem, but the instructions do not include the diameter or length of the bolt. I'll have to remove and measure the other one to get that information. The second picture shows my temporary solution. The screwdriver that is included with the table fits perfectly through the hole and in the teeth of the adjustment arm. Still, most assembly instructions include the sizes of the included nut, bolts, and screws. Other than that minor issue, the table is great, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a similar product. Just make sure your room is cat-free when putting it together.

I love it despite a major disappointment
This is a beautiful piece of furniture. As others have noted, it is challenging to assemble without another person, but I did it - and I am a small, older woman. I was actually pleased with the assembly as the instructions were fairly easy to follow and the pieces fit just as they were supposed to. The pieces came all sorted out and labeled, making it fairly simple to follow the pictures. I wouldn't have wanted to do it without my cordless drill/driver, however, as this is real wood and getting the screws in by hand would have been beyond me.I purchased this because I want to draw and paint while standing. A regular easel is more upright than I want for my current work. I had found myself using my kitchen countertop which was not really a good idea, given that I often mix my own paints from pigments that are toxic. I was able to adjust the height of this drafting table to be the exact height of my kitchen counter and tilt it to a slight angle so that it is easier on my neck than bending over a flat surface. Problem solved! So what is the major disappointment? It is very difficult to adjust the height of the table and the angle of the drawing surface. Somehow I had imagined that, once assembled, I could turn a knob or something to make the adjustments. No such luck. If I want to raise the height of the table, I have to be able to lift and hold the table surface at the desired height while tightening the knobs on both sides. This surface is heavy and wide - it cannot be done this way, at least with just one person. If a strong person was holding the tabletop up, the other person could tighten the knobs. But, even then, one has to be sure that the surface is held level or your surface will be slanting from left to right - not the kind of angle an artist wants. A similar problem occurs when trying to lower the surface, unless you want it at the lowest level (in which case you loosen the knobs and let the side pieces fall to the ground). It is possible to adjust the height with the table upside down - but one doesn't really want to have to turn a 40+ lb table upside down to adjust its height. And, even then, there is the dilemma of being sure you have raised or lowered it the same amount on the left as on the right.Fortunately, I found a way to get the table at the height I wanted and I don't anticipate needing to change it (or at least wanting so badly to change it that I would go through all of this again). I'll let you in on my secret in the event that you find yourself trying to do this by yourself like I did. I took 6 reams of printer paper that I had on hand and put 3 on each side of the table. I lifted the tabletop, pushing them under the side pieces with my foot, so that each stack held up one side of the table at exactly the same height. I then tightened the knobs and pulled the stacks of paper out. One could use 1 or 2 reams (or some other sturdy pair of objects of equal height) to achieve different heights.Adjusting the angle of the table has similar dilemmas but I got lucky and was pleased with the first angle I tried. I'm not going to mess with it.Given this significant difficult in adjusting this adjustable table, by all rights I should give it less than 5 stars. It seems that a company that can design such a beautiful table and make it easy for a non-handy person like me to assemble, should have come up with a better system for adjusting height and angle. However, I just can't given it less than 5 stars. I simply love the table too much.

easy to assemble but does take time and patience. Follow the directions step-by-step.
I put the stool together first then the drawing board. At one point I needed an extra phillips hed screwdriver and a rubber mallet to place one of the reinforcements on the stand for the drawing board. It took me a couple of hours because I was not in a hurry and I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I didn't want to have to take the drawing board apart again because I had assembled it incorrectly. It does not take a lot of strength to accomplishh assembly.I was surprised to see that they included a new t-square. It has measurements on it to be used as a ruler.I did not want a piece of furniture that was super big and heavy like a ranger table. This is just right. Heavy enough to be sturdy and light enough to be moved around if necessary.
