other than that this is an Excellent product.
My ONLY gripe with this product is that you can only used or the diffuser that comes with it OR the beehive grid that you purchase optional ( i did order one and received it ) BUT you can't use them at the same time.other than that this is an Excellent product ... did i say excellent? superb. the material feels robust enough for daily use the center shaft solid and yes yes yes... the ribs are of a plastic or fiberglass that WILL NOT deform .. i already had it topple over with my light stand and speedlight mounted and those ribs even absorb the shock no damage done not even to the fabric and the shape of the soft box? perfect.I highly recommend this product to all strobist photographers, specially speed lights. Oh... and did i tell you about the reflective surface it is AMAZING a speedlight with a diffuser cap when triggered that reflective surface send a HUGE blast of light down range... even with the diffuser it is amazing!

Easy to Set Up, Easy to Tear Down and Very Portable
As a light modifier for my Canon 580EX external flash, this Neewer umbrella/softbox really works well. The surface area of the front casts a lot of soft even light on the subject, though the depth of the softbox makes it a bit awkward in the tight confines in which I frequently have to shoot (I photograph newborn babies, usually in their homes). The umbrella opens up and closes down easily so that it can be inserted into the handy travel pouch for transporting. It is easy to drop it onto the light stand through the open slit on the bottom, and attaching the white diffuser panel is a cinch since it has strips of velcro all around the edges. I leave mine just loosely tacked in place because I don't want the loud ripping sound of the velcro to disturb a sleeping baby if I have to reach inside to adjust the flash head for any reason. I'm sure this won't be the last softbox I will ever buy, but for a fledgling professional shooter, this is an easy investment to make with an immediate payback in terms of the great light it produces.

Nice, big, versatile umbrella softbox for triple speedlights.
Very good size and construction for the price.Very easy to set up, including with the separate grid that can be procured for it, however caveat emptor:You will need to use speedlights in there and probably three of them to get decent power. Forget about your monolights - they just won't fit. This means that unless you want to tear out the grid and buffer for each adjustment, you will need flashes you can adjust remotely, either studio strobes controlled from the power pack or more likely manual remote flashes such as the ubiquitous YN560-III or -IV speedlights and the corresponding YN560-TX.You will need a triple flash adapter that will also hold the umbrella/softbox, and of course some light stand, if possible with a boom to allow angling the softbox as you want it. When using speedlights, make sure you use their wide-angle screen and have them aim at 45 degrees, not straight ahead, which gives a hot spot in the center of the softbox.

Excellent budget softbox
This is my first softbox, so I do not have much to compare this to. I do have a set of umbrellas that I use, but this lets me have a bit more control over where the light is being thrown. The diffuser adds a wonderful soft light that does some incredible things with skin tones.Set up is pretty straight forward and it opens up just like an umbrella. There is a zippered opening to get your stand through the bottom and then mount the flash on the inside.Pros:- Easy set up and take down, although there it is a bit of trick to fold the diffuser panel correctly to get it back into the carry bag with the softbox. I’m sure once you do it a few times, it will not be an issue.- Size – this thing is really large (over 4 feet diameter!) once you get it set up and you can direct a nice wall of light with this thing.- Diffuser makes a wonderful soft light.- Seems like it is well constructed for the price. I am not sure if it would survive a tumble in the wind, but I plan on mostly using this indoors.- Provides good lighting with both a speedlight and plug-in strobe.Cons:- The flash unit goes inside the umbrella. If you have a manual flash, adjustments are best dialed in before you Velcro on the diffuser panel. Having it on the inside really can’t be avoided with this style of softbox, but it’s something to be aware of before buying.- There is no articulating arm on the mount, so you will not be able to angle this unit. Your only option is straight up and down. Because it is so large, it hasn’t been a problem for me. One other reviewer suggested mounting it on a boom stand, which would be a pretty easy solution to adjust the angle.Overall, I am very happy with this softbox and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable, yet quality entry to expand their flash photography gear. I have had a good experience with the Neewer brand so far. I have this softbox paired with the Neewer 250W Studio Flash and I have been very happy with the results.

Octo-Butta
When looking for an Octo box I feel like I scoured the earth! I was definitely on a budget so the world was NOT my oyster. This is when I came upon the Neewer 47" Octo box for speedlights. This product got great reviews by current users, and the price was definitely right; not to mention that I had just received a gift card from work (the planets had aligned!). So I pulled the trigger, and man was I ever please. Delivery was fast, and the product came wrapped in bubble wrap like it was a crown jewel; so kudos to the vendor: standbyon. But wait, there's more! I could not wait to shoot with this "giant" cost effective light modifier and boy it did not disappoint! It was fast to set up and the light was like butta on a warm biscut. I used a boom arm so tilting was not an issue, so think ahead before you buy if tilting will be an issue for you and how you shoot. If its not, then this is pure butta baby, you cannot go wrong!!!

Great Low Cost Solution
Better than expected. I wanted a large soft box that could be used with either a speedlight or larger studio strobe. This will do both without a problem. It is very easy to deploy and set up. Simply set up your light stand, thread the vertical part of the stand through the zipper opening at the bottom of the umbrella and set it on the floor while you attach the light to the stand (you need either a light or a flash bracket that includes the ability to hold the umbrella stem,) now fully open the umbrella and slide the stem into the flash bracket or strobe, adjust the height, zip the zippers up to the stand, attach the diffuser and you are ready to go.Because the light stand has to pass through the zipper opening, the range of tilt is very limited. The conventional wisdom, as others have pointed out, is to use a boom arm to get any tilt angle you want since the tilting happens outside of the umbrella. The included travel case is well made as well, but lacks a handle. Guess what? I have some web strap and a sewing machine; problem solved!

Best lighting modifier I've purchased to date!
Bought this over the weekend, it arrived on Tuesday, got it setup and working w/ my Canon 430 EXII speedlight in a flash (haha), and took over a dozen headshots with it the next day. They turned out amazing! SO MUCH BETTER than the two-continuous lights setup I've been using, AND it helped resolve my glass glare issues, as well! I'm so impressed with it, and could not be happier w/ my purchase. Thank you Neewer! Quality product AND so very affordable! <3I did purchase the speedlight mount, as well, since I'd never used it off camera before, but already had a light stand. One point to note is that my light stand (from the aforementioned continuous light kit) is fairly light, so in order to use this softbox outdoors, I think I'd want to purchase something a bit sturdier for fear that this would topple over with the slightest breeze.

for the price, AWESOME
The good:it does a very good job diffusing the light, it folds up easily, its not too big to bring on locationthe bad:the stem seems a little cheap, and flexes under stress (I'm sure they all do). I wish there was a way to fold it up smaller, and I wish there was a better way to keep the diffusion panel attached while folded.

Gran compra
Es muy fácil de usar, muy útil, buen tamaño y fácil de transportar, he realizado varias sesiones con el y ha durado bastante, claro, cuidando siempre del equipo, si le dan buen uso será duradero. Buena calidad y precio.

Seems to do the job well!
I’m no expert in soft boxes but this was the biggest I could find for a reasonable price. I have come to appreciate the quality of Neewer products, and this lives up to what I expect. Nothing fancy and gets the job done. Easy to use. Easy to setup. Easy to take down. The bag is nice. Everything here is straight forward. I use a multi flash speedlite bracket with it.

Lichtwanne

excellent octobox
Quality octobox, good size for optimum light diffusion. Has extra diffusion panel inside to soften the light even further. Easy to set up. Love Neewer price tag, cost so much less than other brands but does just as good a job.
