Great 2m / 70cm antenna
I put this antenna up in my attic to connect to local 2m and 70cm repeaters and this antenna is working great. Its definitely extended my range but what was really impressive is how much more clear signals are compared to stock or even aftermarket HT antennas. I am slowly upgrading my radios and this was a very impressive first item to upgrade.

Excellent!!!
Well built and the range is good enough to hit the repeaters almost 50 miles away.

Excellent Perfomance
This is a great dual band antenna for my base station. At 35' on a push up mast, my range has been greatly increased.

Great Antenna
I use this with a Yaesu HT, and it works really well. My antenna mount is far less than ideal, and the performance is quite acceptable. The antenna is small enough that you could put it in the car for use at a remote site. I only gave 4 stars, because the mounting bracket does not match the other half for a pole mount. Not the end of the world. I used half the bracket and just screwed it to a pole. I had been through some serious wind, snow and rain, and is holding up very well. Without question, I would buy this antenna again.

Easy to Install and Very Portable if desired.
Very nice antenna. It is light weight and easy to install. I connected it to an existing TV antenna mast with a 5' pole which gave me a total height of 35' at the base. I use it with a Baofeng HP-82HP and a scanner. I am able to connect with 2 meter repeaters at quite a distance. I can hear police and state patrol units at over 50 miles away even though the antenna isn't tuned for those particular frequencies. This antenna could be used as a portable unit while camping or at events. I wouldn't recommend it to be permanently mounted on a vehicle because of the wind resistance.

Fantastic dual-band antenna
I purchased this antenna based on a recommendation from a friend and the overwhelmingly positive reviews on eHam. I'm very glad that I did. While I haven't connected it to a standalone analyzer yet, my radio is reporting a 1:1 SWR across the 70cm band and the majority of the 2m band, with a maximum SWR of 1.5:1 at the top of 2 meters. No antenna is magical, and there are so many variables that influence range. That said, I'm operating indoors in an area full of interference (a Chicago apartment with no balcony—far from ideal), and able to work UHF simplex at 35W with folks 30-40 miles away. The antenna is mounted to a section of PVC pipe, slipped over the neck of an inexpensive tripod with the camera mount sawed off. The connection to my transceiver is made via 50' of LMR-400 to a Daiwa cavity switch, with another 7' of RG-213 running to the X50A. The antenna's mast mount features a very cool design that protects the coax interface from water ingress. If only I could stick the thing outdoors.

Diamond/Amazon aren't being careful with delicate equipment and then delaying returns
I order this item and it arrived in a plastic/paper bag. There was no bubble wrapping or outer boxing on it. Unsurprisingly, it was damaged with cracked fiberglass making the antenna susceptible to water damage in the immediate future if used. I was given no option for replacement only a return which has been delayed from being processed today to 10 days later. Would be 0 if that was an option. I ordered a more expensive antenna with the same result. The Diamond Antenna V2000A Tri-band antenna is the 2nd I ordered with a similar result but better packaging. I don't know if it's Diamond's packaging or Amazon's storage/delivery but this is crazy. Check out the Diamond Antenna V200A that I had ordered and will be returning for a similar story. That order was delayed by a day meaning I wasn't able to install it on my day off and didn't get to check it until tonight.
