DLO Videoshell Case for 80/120/160 GB iPod classic 6G (Clear)

Been wanting a hard case for my Ipod classic for a long time now. This was exactly what I wanted and needed, for a very good price. I had not considered the stand part of the case an essential, but I find that it is awfully useful. I have no Ipod dock, so my Ipod always gets played on my laptop when I'm not mobile. The stand saves space and deters my cats from stepping on the Ipod.My only quibble is that because my Ipod's so old (it's a 30 GB, rather than 80/120/160 GB), it didn't even bother to list it in the instructions for the little insert meant to take up the extra room if your player has less memory. This is just a quibble, because it wasn't exactly hard to figure out.

This is an awesome iPod case that fits the 7th generation 180 Gig iPods. The negative is it's hard to turn on and off the lock iPod button. It also does not allow enough room in the bottom slot for my old iPod radio tuner (not created by Apple) to connect to my iPod so I can listen to music in the car. It does however allow enough room in the bottom slot for the Apple chords (i.e. battery charger).

I just got a 160gb ipod, and I bought this case to protect it. I'd bought a similar one when I got my 60 gig a while ago, and I really liked the protection that the hard shell provided.This case interested me because of this "kickstand" feature, and I couldn't seem to find any other cases closer than the one I used to have, so I bought it. Unfortunately, when I put my ipod in, it was a little too small for the case, so it jiggles around inside the case a bit. Then I realized that for this "kickstand" feature, half of the back of the case slides off and down to hold your ipod up. It stands good, but it also easily opens up like that when you DONT want it to, like when I put it in my bag or hold it in my hand the wrong way.All in all it's a pretty good case, but I think it could have been refined a little more so it doesn't jiggle so much or accidentally open.

I just recently purchased my 2nd DLO Videoshell Case for my iPod Classic. You might think that's a negative thing, but I feel like if I'd had any other protector for my iPod, I would have been buying more iPods, not just getting another case. I'm brutal with these things...and my first case survived my nonsense for almost 3 years. Considering the cheap price, that's more than worth the amount spent.I do have to mention something about the notion that this case keeps you from accessing the headphone/mini jack on your player. I have no trouble plugging my computer speakers into my iPod with the case fully closed. And the sync jack is easy to get to as well. I haven't had to open the case up for any reason other than when I want to use the 'stand' feature.All in all, this is an excellent and durable product - highly recommended.

I've been having a hard time finding a clear case to put on my 160GB iPod Classic (older thicker model), after I put my new decal skin on it. I finally found this one after contacting the seller (Tech for Less) to make sure it'll fit before purchasing. Which I was happy to hear it did. And it comes with a screen protector, which I needed. I'm not too fond of the kickstand feature. I thought it would be different. I have to slide the top part off then fold it back, and that's was used for the kickstand. I don't like that the top piece slides up and down easily. I'm gonna have to scotch tape it together. Because I already know it's gonna get annoying. The case I received looks like it was used. The back of it is scuffed up in the center. Which does NOT look good over the photo of my son on the decal skin, it's partially on his face. And the box was all taped up. Shipping was fast, I received it 3 days before estimated arrival date.

This case is a decent enough one for the price, but I had a few issues with it. 1. The case does not cover the screen or the click wheel, the most sensitive parts of the ipod. The case comes with a screen shield that is a thin layer of plastic film which adheres to the screen, protecting it from dust and light scratches but not from anything major, which was my whole purpose for purchasing the case. There is no protection whatsoever for the click wheel. 2. I have the newest 160gb classic and the case is slightly too big, even with the added insert, causing the ipod to shift slightly. 3. The hold switch is completely inaccessible when the case is shut. The plastic is so thick that it cannot be reached. So, if you're looking for something that protects the whole ipod, this is probably not the one to chose. If you are looking for something with minimal protection, this is a decent case at a great price.

Just got a new iPod Classic 160GB. I like this thing... makes it so you can see the engraving I got done. Not sure if I am going to stick with this, however. I can't seem to keep it locked closed. The "kickstand" looking thing you see in the photo doesn't lock down when it is covering the top of the iPod and is continually slipping around. I bought a few cases when I got the iPod and am going to try each for a week or so and pick one to go with. This one so far, I would give a 9/10 if it locked. Since it doesn't, I'd say 5/10. I am afraid someday the iPod will just fly out!

When I worked in an office and was doing boring, mindless paperwork, I would pop this open and listen to movies on my iPod to keep myself entertained. The only downside was you couldn't plug in the charger while the kickstand was out. Other than that, handy little case! :-)
