I recommend
Okay, first thing is, make sure you shake the bottle/container before you use. I didn't do that and it came out a bit lumpy. I used it to waterproof two cotton bucket hats in the synthetics cycle of my washing machine. I used about 200ml for that (twice what was recommended, as I was a bit sceptical). One of the hats was quite a heavy cotton (a Barbour hat) and the other was a light/thin Berghaus walkers' type hat. Anyway on removing from the washing machine there was quite a bit of the white residue left on the heavier cotton had. Could be due to the fact that I didn't shake the bottle and used double the amount. Anyway, I rinsed/washed out the residue by hand, just using cold water from the tap. After I let the hats dry, I tested them both by pouring water from the tap onto the top of each hat. Not a bit of water came through. I then attempted to us both bucket hats as buckets. Filled both to the brim with water from the tap. Result: not a bit of water leaked, so I now have two waterproof bucket hats, and two make-shift buckets, if needed 😊Pretty impressive!

Still the best
Most recent use was my heavy old army coat. I got it soaking wet then sprayed this onto it ang hung it by a radiator to dry over night. I've included a video showing how the ancient old heavy canvas coat shrugs off the water. Now out in the rain the top layer of the coat is going to soak up a little rain BUT it doesn't get through and the coat still breathes perfectly well. Also use this stuff on waterproof coats and tents that need a recoating. I've waterproofed a thick cotton bucket hat and Craghopper Kiwi trousers, all good. The trousers don't last as long because the material is very thin, moves a hell of a lot and brushes against everything. Works great on canvas trainers like Converse Allstars, confused my wife and daughter when we got caught in a downpour. Use it on all sorts of footwear and is really good for older boots (leather included) that leak slightly around the lace holes. If you're going to use on something like gaiters then you need to be really generous with it, you'll need to refresh it more often there too. I don't like plastic coats, I hate GoreTex stuff, the environmental impact of it is not justifiable for me and plastic coats are so so sweaty when soaked, yes even GoreTex. Very noisy too. You do need to recoat jackets and I prefer doing it by hand, find the washing machine method to be hit and miss. This has so so many uses. Once you've got it you'll find loads of uses for it.

Great job on canvas tents
Easy to use, waterproofed two large old canvas tents effectively with half left in bottle yet! Diluted and sprayed with vacuum pump. Good value, there hasn't been much rain to test true effectiveness this summer but happy with results so far. Plenty left for further applications.

Works ok
Although it works ok. It does not lift dirt and says not to wash item first. I had to then spot wash the dirty parts of the coat. Another item I pre-washed dried and then washed with this stuff and it worked well.

The washing was fine, no fading or spotting on the jacket
4 out of 5 stars. ~ Basic Overview ~ This product is meant for the washing machine and works as intended. The product picture shows a bottle however if you look at the description of the product, it states the product is 4 oz; I did not notice that. When I received the product I had a small pouch ( 4oz as listed ). The washing was fine, no fading or spotting on the jacket. I let my jacket hang dry for 2 days and tested it, worked great. My only con and the reason I gave the product 4 stars was because the instructions on the back of the pouch are extremely tiny. Normally I wouldn’t take away due to labeling but the micro-print instructions may prove challenging for those with vision problems. ~ Recommendation ~ Buy it, use it, give it to friends. It works. you can wash up to 2 garments with one pouch of the concentrate and is worth the price point, rather than using otter fax or something. Nikwax is a great product and if you’re looking to waterproof a cotton garment , this is all you need for at least a year. I definitely found a new product for all my misc. outdoor gear that needs a touch up on water proofing

Waterwerken, niet waterdicht
Verhoogt windweerstand en verhindert waterabsorptie. Getest op Polykatoen. Maakt kleding in ieder geval sneller drogend en grotendeels waterafstotend maar niet waterdicht.
