A Consecrated Work
If you sympathize at all with the Charlotte Mason method, buy this book. It is not a read once and be done, but a delightful, heaven blessed work to help those plodding along their home education journey. You'll want it to have it at your fingertips when the many occasions it was written for pop up in your daily life. It has hours of caring instruction, anecdotes, and encouragement. Do not quibble about paying the price asked. It is worth every penny and then some. This book is the fruit of a holy deprivation turned blessing to all homeschooling mothers. If you know about Charlotte Mason at all, it is most likely the result from the labor of love begun by Karen. She is now offering those using the Charlotte Mason method her many years of wisdom, friendship, and confidence in a format that is available any place or time it is required.

Another wonderful book from Mrs. Karen Andreola
Karen Andreola is my homeschool mentor. Although I have never met her in person, she has guided me along this homeschooling journey. She has been my source of inspiration when the days were long and I needed a friend to cheer me. I have all of her books except one. It is hard to choose a favorite of her books, so my advice is to buy them all! She is so gentle in her approach and it seems as though she is sitting beside me offering me tidbits of advice just when I need them. She speaks to the heart from her heart and that is why I really do find her a friend. The pictures are beautiful just as they are in all of her books and the cover design is stunning - designed by her very talented son. Keep this book handy because you will want to read it over and over again. Thank you, Karen, for another wonderfully written and illustrated book, and may God bless you as you continue to inspire mothers all over the world for His glory.

Inspiration for the weary mom
This book is like sitting with an old friend after a long day, and having that friend tell you to not grow weary in doing good. If you are the mother who, like me, needs encouragement today, then I think you will appreciate this kind of format. There are little nuggets of wisdom in each chapter combined with scripture, history, poems, and vision for who you will become. There were only a handful of negative reviews for this book, most of which complained that it was not for secular mothers. They would be correct. If you’re not a Christian you will find this book greatly lacking. This book is the Norman Rockwell of homeschooling.... instead of exhausting us with the difficulties of homeschooling and lamenting the realities, we have a fresh set of eyes on what beautiful things can happen, possibly even an idealized version of what life can be. But I don’t buy art that reminds me of the harsh realities of life... I buy art because it reminds me of the beauty that I long for. This is a book of hope. Enjoy it for what it tries to do: raise the bar, give us a vision, and set our expectations high.

Much needed advice from an old friend
I cherish all of Karen Andreola’s books. I am a homeschool mom of six years but just like everyone else I am always learning something new. Karen’s book gives me encouragement and guidance. I tell my husband while I am reading in the evening after all my children have gone to bed that reading her book is a breath of fresh air. She writes as if you are long time old friends having chat over tea on a wrap around porch. Thank you again for this wonderful book! I highly recommend this book along with all her other ones.

Balm to a mother’s heart
I have admired Karen’s Andreola and her contributions to the Charlotte Mason philosophy for a long time. This book is just what a mother needs (for me, anyway) at the end of a long day. The chapters are short, you can pick up and read small bits of encouragement at a time, and while uplifting, it never comes across as unrealistic ideals. There are enough books that are set out to help us do better, but ultimately make me feel as though I don’t measure up. I love the way this book reads, as if chatting with a long time friend, a wise mother that has gone before me. I was hesitant at the higher price for a paperback, but am extremely pleased with the purchase and feel it is absolutely worth every penny. If you’re on the fence, I encourage you to go for it. It won’t disappoint.

O how I love this book
This book has been so live giving and calming. It's exactly what I needed to start our homeschool year, and just what I needed in Motherhood. Every chapter has been relatable, all of the quotes and little stories in each chapter are easy to digest in small sittings but also lovely enough that you may end up reading a few chapters at once (ask me how I know lol)

Excellent Book, but Spine Came Apart First Time Opened :-(
Okay, I just LOVE this book. As in, I find myself having to read a few chapters before bed every night since I got it. Bad thing is, I'm a super grouchy mom now more than ever--but only because I can't put it down and find myself reading 'til midnight without the sleep necessary for the next day. It is such a counter-cultural way of looking at motherhood and homeschooling, and thus very inspiring. I was a bit upset with the quality of the book though. The first time I opened it, the pages started peeling away from the spine/glue. I've had it about a week, and it's slowly getting worse, so it may hold together for one full reading, but books as good as this, should last a lifetime. It was mailed during a very cold time, so maybe something happened to the glue during shipping?

This book makes me want to embrace Mother Culture as much as the author does!
‘’Mother Culture" by Karen Andreola is like a friendly conversation with someone who understands the challenges of motherhood. I love the illustrations in Karen Andreola's books. I have owned the Charlotte Mason Companion for years and enjoyed it as a study group with friends. It was time to get the Mother Culture book and enjoy some daily doses of good words for mothers and soak in the drawings. I don't know what took me so long to buy it.

Such an encouraging read with stacks of beautiful thoughts and practical ideas on a range of topics for the mother in-the-trenches. Wise, Godly counsel from a 'older woman in the faith' (by which I mean no slight on the author's age but rather the season she's now in). I love this book, have recommended it to friends and added it to my list of gift books for new mothers. Thanks Karen. 😊
