Sexy and fun read
This reader had the most absolutely delightful time reading V.A. Dold's book, "Cade: New Orleans Billionaire Wolf Shifters with plus sized BBW mates (Le Beau Series Book 1)" which is the first book of a series already available. Characters are described well enough to easily visualize and empathize with as well as being able to witness them go through various stages of growth. Protagonist Anna starts as a woman with no self-confidence and very low self-esteem and it was marvelous witnessing her begin to come into her own before her love interest, male-shifter Cade, officially meets her in person - and then we see her absolutely blossom. Added to Anna's scrumptious details is the fact this lady is in her mid-forties with college age children from a previous marriage... yowsa! Cade, an extremely drool-worthy male, (and is well over two hundred years old when he meets his lady-love) already has his own confidence, but it waivers in such a sweet, vulnerable way as he tries to not only win Anna's heart, but prove to her she is an exceptional woman. These two characters truly compliment one another! The majority of the secondary characters introduced were given enough detail of traits to visualize and really look forward to reading their own stories later. Antagonist Tim, Anna's ex-louse, actually reminded this reader of her own ex way too much and earned her instant disdain, by the way.Dialogue, for the most part, flowed nicely and helped move the plot along. Characters each had their own authentic voice, although once Anna and Cade mated they seemed to sound similar, to this reader's mind. That could very well have been intentional, showing another way as to how their bond strengthened and in a sense, combined the pair. Settings were lusciously described in rich detail; this reader easily envisioned strolling around in New Orleans - a place she has never had the fortune to visit thus far, yet now feels as if she has. Dold has a lovely story-telling voice that truly makes a reader feel invited in and visit for as long as they want. Add to that, there were very few grammar, spelling or punctuation errors, showing Dold loves her work enough to care for it after she has put it to page. Dold kept up a fairly decent pace with just enough lulls to allow a reader to relax, then wham! Something new comes along to start hearts a-racing. As a side note, this reader read some older reviews stating there was no plot to the tale, and I beg to differ. The plot was one of the oldest in the 'books of plots': boy meets girl; boy woo's girl; girl denies and/or struggles with feelings for boy; boy gets girl. For those complaining, they might want to consider there actually are no truly new and unique plots - only ways to tell them.Dold's story far exceeded this readers expectations - epecially after the last few books written by others, that she's read - and she happily recommends this book. Was it perfect? No. But it was an enjoyable read with few flaws. It was sensual, thrilling, a tad dramatic, and offered some action in the mix, as well. While this tale had a happily ever after ending, it also set up the second book in the series, without a cliffhanger, in an interesting and satisfactory way. Again, this reader does recommend this book for a fun read and plans to purchase the next in the series.

Plus size women and Shifters in New Orleans
As a whole, I can only give this book 3 stars, call me tight with my stars, but I have a systemand although I loved the story, and I will read other books in this series, some things in this onedid bother me, so it gets just 3 stars.Cade and Anna are Matesage, children, horrid ex-husbands nor mob bosses will stop this love affair.I felt there was decent world building in this, and maybe too many details about food, clothes, weather, ora persons body and how they look. It started really nice with Anna being a plus size women, she has low self esteem because of verbal abuse from the Ex for years. But in this book she gainedher self esteem way too quickly, and mainly only because she was shrink wrapped into a smaller younger bodywith less wrinkles once she was mated. .Of course then she felt great about herself and the fact she hada drop dead gorgeous man by her side. This is the part of the story that I took away 2 stars for.If your going to write about a Plus Size women, leave her a plus size, don't change her from a size 16 to a 10and still call her a plus size women. She doesn't have to rebuild her self esteem through the book, it is instantly therewhen her body changes.I will read the next book, I want to find out how things work out with Simon... If the price is right, from the previews I see his mate is also a plus size women, so if she is changed to a lower size as well thatwill be my last book in this series....Happy Reading Ya'll

Flat and Very Disappointing Mary Sue
I hate to say it but this is a total Mary Sue; any time you end up with a "BBW" who magically loses 4 sizes and 20 years, and has "glorious" red hair and "stunningly unusual" eyes, AND gets the hottest man in town without even trying...well. The world building is consistent, but heavy-handed -- there are much more subtle ways to introduce shapeshifting than to bluntly say "so you know those paranormal books? It happens" without any lead in, context, or follow up. I can see that technique working in some places, but it would require a much lighter touch and more effort for atmosphere than this received. The characters are rather two dimensional, and the plot is undeveloped. The few points of 'conflict' are barely conflicting and feel thrown in just to tick off a box on a 'this is how you write a romance' list. Overall, the actual writing is decent enough -- I can see this author has a lot of potential, good vocabulary, good grammar, good editing -- but its very flat. The entire book is very cliche'd and trite, which is disappointing, because from the blurb it sounded like it had a lot of possibility. I do not recommend this book.

Dynamic and Different
This book was different from the "usuals" and a very welcoming change. The usual have the young adult in the their 20's and and describe similar to models, etc; however, this book was about a mature middle age woman 45 yrs old and size beautiful, although she sometimes doubted herself or lacked self-confidence. I loved the story and pace of the book, exciting and interesting, I couldn't wait to finish it because it was so good, I had to get to the end. The author is a good writer the flow was excellent and I love the fact that I didn't have to wait for ever to find out what happens next, the story flows well into each chapter. It's great that it can be read as a stand alone or within the series, seems as though every book is part of a series now, sometimes I just want a stand alone book that has a beginning and ending in one book, this was well worth the read.

2.5 Inoffensive Stars (Some Spoilers)
Anna James having seen her two sons gain lives of their own has finally left her unfaithful and mean husband, she decides it’s time to live for herself and achieve her dreams.Attractive is a billionaire wolf shifter, who loves a curvy woman and lucky for his mate happens to be a delectably curvy woman, and the woman he has been dreaming about for years. He saw her briefly once but distracted he lost her in the crowd, so when he scents her the second time he makes his way to her, determined to claim and protect his mate. Anna’s ex-husband refuses to stay in the past and tries to cause trouble, what he doesn’t count on is the fierce shifter ready to do anything to protect his mate.I love a good shifter romance, so when I saw this was a freebie downloaded straight away. The blurb had me thinking this would be a tantalising read, with steam, passion and action but honestly the book lacked depth and energy.Plus, there were things that had me sighing in displeasure. For example, Anna’s husband has been repeatedly unfaithful as well as demeaning her looks etc, and she was aware of him cheating more than once but she stayed for her sons, my issue is that I didn’t like her staying in such a rubbish marriage, sometimes leaving whilst hard is the best for everyone (kids included). Also, despite having dreamed of each other for years, when they get to know each other in person, Anna seems to have no surprise that Cade’s life and family reflect what her dream guy told her!Potential Triggers: Anna’s ex-husband attempts to kill her and attack her. Plus, whilst married to the douche he was verbally abusive

Great start of this series
I met VA Dold at RT Round up in Houston, for what was a really lovely book signing weekend. As I went to get my photobook signed, VA Dold gave me a copy the first copy in her Le Beau Brothers series - Cade.I honestly thought I would put it in my suitcase and get around to reading it sometime; BUT I think the pull of learning more about these sexy shifters was too strong, and I started reading this immediately.I loved getting to meet Anna and Cade both very strong characters each with their own back stories.Anna was finally free from a loveless marriage but had 2 wonderful sons, Thomas and John, they both appeared to be very protective of their mother, but also she moved on with her life. And through some gentle coercion, Cade bumps into Anna at a bar, and the immediate attraction begins. They have been getting acquainted for the past 5 years through dreams and visions both thinking they were just that dreams.I loved how easy they were with each other, but also Cade's very protective and possessiveness coming to the forefront.Anna's ex Tim was a scoundrel, and I was wondering why he came over all alpha, when he really wasn't like that, he was a coward and used Anna's insecurities to belittle her.I was glad she gt to meet her perfect dream man, Cade was really something else.Whilst this is not my first paranormal book, I do believe my first fall shifter story. It really had me turning the pages and I shall now head over to get the remaining series, can't wait to read Simon's story. If Cade and Anna's story is anything to go by, the emotion I had with this book is only going to be intensified in Simon and Rose's story.A really lovely story about finding your very happy forever after.

Nice shifter read
Ok so I liked this book, nice story about parents who just want their sons to be happy. After many years dreaming about his mate Cade finally meets her. Anna can hardly believe the man she dreamt up and has been practically having a dream relationship with is right in front of her. Not wanting to ever lose his opportunity Cade makes the choice to finally make Anna his. With some drama, and family member issues, will both Anna and Cade get the HEA they've both wanted? This had a nice story, plot, and writing. The characters are nice and this is the start of a series for all family members. Lots of angst which made for good reading, lots of love and romance but also lots of sex which is sweet. A nice shifter story for paranormal lovers.

Enthralling. Romantic, hot and fun
Such a charming read. There's an almost slow and easy pace, I don't mean this as a negative, the flow of the book suits the rhythm of the setting and enhances the story. Cafe and Anna are such interesting characters. I loved the fact that Anna has a past, that she's a divorcee. It's a pleasure to read about a mature woman. Cade is drop dead gorgeous, so loving. He can star in my dreams or reality anytime! I loved the supernatural elements, they work well with the main story, adding tension and fun. Overall this is a heart warming love story with a sweet HEA. I look forward to reading the other stories very much.
