Charming!
So charming!THE SECRET INGREDIENT OF WISHES is a book about a woman who has a secret gift: the ability to grant wishes. In her childhood, though, that gift goes terribly wrong, leaving her afraid of her own ability and alone in the world. When she accidentally grants a wish by her best friend's child, she decides to leave town and finds herself in a magical place called Nowhere, where she's adopted by Catch--the town's magical baker--who says she has a habit of taking in strays. So begins a journey toward understanding herself, embracing her gift, and finding the family she lost. The book was a lovely read - well written, with gorgeous magical moments and lots of southern charm.

Truly A Heartwarming Read
This was truly a heartwarming read. I am a fan of Sarah Addison Allen, and this book was right up the same alley. The no-nonsense, magical pie-baking Catch was one of my favorite characters in the story. I was rooting for Rachel the whole time, and had a great time watching Rachel find her footing, some new friends, and another thing or two during her stay in Nowhere, NC.I liked the ending, and felt it was easy enough to infer the meaning of the events on the final pages. I closed the back cover having very much enjoyed the journey.Reader be warned, you will probably crave pie while reading this book!

NC Book Lovers Must Read
As a North Carolina native, I make it a point to seek out stories about my home state (other than the rinse and repeat Sparks books.) This enchanting story is not only set in NC but is written by an NC author! It's a great, easy read that is impossible to put down. Just enough whimsy without being unbelievable. Packed with plenty of romance and heartache to entice any romance novel junkie. This is a must for any summer reading list.

A magical book
I’ve been dying to read this book since I read the synopsis and it didn’t disappoint! A charming North Carolina town, magic, pies, secrets, a hot neighbor—what’s not to love? This magical story is about finding yourself and choosing to be happy. The characters are complex and memorable and Nowhere drew me right in. I loved the emotion behind Rachel’s desire to stop the wishes. The romance with Ashe was both steamy and sweet. And endings are hard, but I really loved this one. It was satisfying and wrapped things up without making it all unrealistically perfect. Also, this book made me want pie every day!

An okay novel, not for adults.
It seems as though the target audience was teenage girls, and I'm not a teenage girl. It wasn't very well written, the plot was thin, characters trite and predictable, and the interesting premises left unexplored.

Nice easy read
This was enjoyable. I loved the concept, but felt that the background story about her family was a bit disjointed. It seemed that it was going to have some darkness to it until she left her home. Then we entered a yummy gooey storyline. This new town is never fully explained, nor are the characters. It had such potential.

Magic is afoot
We all have a bit of magic in us...we just have to eat enough pie to find the wish or keep the secret. This is a lovely story, beautifully crafted. I’ll be reading more of this author.
