Suet Plus Bird Suet Cake 12 Pack of 11 oz Suet Cakes (Woodpecker Blend)

Unpalatable
I'm very disappointed with this product. My birds typically LOVE suet cakes, but they do not care for these at all. I can't remember when I put out the last cakes, but they are still there in the feeder. Any other brand, and it would be gone within a week. I suggest that you do not buy this product.I do give kudos for the suet packaging. The wrapping product is very easy to open without getting messy. Typically I have to use scissors, but these packages tear open very easily, and the cakes slip right into the feeder.

Just not that attractive
I buy hundreds of pounds of seed and suet every year. This is the only variety I have ever seen that just doesn't seem to be very attractive. Even my regular visiting Woodpeckers often choose the seed feeder over this suet. That's very unusual in my experience. It's only when all the other choices are exhausted that any of my local birds show any willingness to eat this stuff. I will not buy this again.

Something is wrong with this formula!
Something in amiss with these suet cakes. They were only about $1 each compared to the $5 each in stores, but not one bird has touched these. The squirrels stay away also. They do not appear to attract the woodpeckers, cardinals, Blue Jays or black birds who eat from every other feeder just a few feet away.

The woodpeckers love it, but many other birds also eat it
The birds in my backyard have been plowing through this stuff. I've got 2 suet tail prop feeders ( Suet Feeder With Tail Prop Hunter Green ). The woodpeckers love it, but many other birds also eat it. I originally started using suet feeders to distract woodpeckers from pecking the siding of my house and getting into the attic. This has worked really well and they now leave my house alone, content with the suet I leave out for them.

more and more birds started showing up like cardinals and blue-birds among other things
This suet cake has attracted several types of woodpeckers - downy, pileated, red-bellied, northern flicker. After a period of months, more and more birds started showing up like cardinals and blue-birds among other things. You'd think this is bird crack! Its interesting to see the cardinals trying to eat from the feeder since its not natural for them to hang vertically and eat, but boy do they do their best to hold on somewhat sideways with their tail bent around the side.

great stuff. birds love it. Woodpeckers wait for it.
Bought this based on reviews, and they're spot on. Woodpeckers especially are attracted to this, but all the birds like it. Ordering for a 2nd time today. I also like that there's less plastic involved - no plastic holders inside the plastic wrap. I wish they'd ALL wrap the cakes in plain paper though, and I could just throw the wrappings in the compost pile instead of having to clean the suet bits off the plastic wrapper so it can be recycled.

Great northern flickers love it!
My Flickers absolutely love this, in fact more stop by. However, my Downey and Hairy woodpeckers no longer visit me. The packaging is fab for opening, my arthritis thanks you. And the price, divine. Sooooo, I'll try another flavor.

My birds love this stuff
My birds love this stuff, especially the woodpeckers. We get lots of downy, some red-bellied, and even the occasional pileated woodpecker coming by for a bite. The titmice, chickadees, nuthatches, and blue jays also enjoy it. I have gotten other suet types and this one seems to be preferred. It is also cheaper here than it is at my local garden store.
