To preface, I NEVER leave reviews, but this product is excellent and deserves to have some light shone on its thoughtful features. I've seen others post negative reviews but with very obvious flaws, which I will go into a little detail about later. First, let's go over the great features of this ceiling fan: 1) It creates a lot of airflow given even slightly reasonable conditions. It puts out almost as much air as a 20" box fan... without the noise! Given the price, this is an amazingly engineered product! 2) Speaking of noise, it does hum. And that's not surprising given this thing does not have the mass and build of a normal wooden blade ceiling fan. The small bit of sound it makes is totally reasonable! Even a "real" ceiling fan will be noisy in the lower price range. 3) A lot of small details were put into this fan that make it very nice for the price point: -The top of the base is spring-loaded so that when the motor starts, it doesn't over-torque the hook you hang it on, the spring absorbs the start-up torque. -The fan's hook has an insulated cover for reduced noise transferring to the structure it hangs on. -The blades attach with machine screws (two screws per blade) instead of cheap self-tappers or clipping in to a slot. -You get extra blades. There are five blades in the package and you only need three, leaving two spares if any need replacing later (and the size is even stamped into the back) -You can take it apart and it fits back into the small box it came it for easy transport or storage. -The motor will slow down the blades quickly when you turn it off. -It has a very long power cord. -There's no awkward funky power bricks or voltage converters to deal with (typical of smaller fans or motors), just a normal plug with inline power switch. -It has a cosmetically pleasing design. Something that should be obvious is this is NOT a large full-size permanent mount ceiling fan - so don't expect the same out of this fan as you would a $600+ permanently installed fan. What you CAN expect is a lot of value for the price - it is definitely worth the money and you get a very thoughtful product! In regards to the negative reviews, there are some basics that need to be understood. So here's the nitty gritty you need to know about ceiling fans (and fans in general): 1) Don't put it in a corner - A fan in a corner can't move air because the corner creates a cyclone or dead zone. This means if you hang it nested up in the apex of a gazebo, don't expect to get much if any airflow below. There needs to be plenty of space above it! 2) Don't put it directly against something - A fan that is too close to something above it cannot push air down. It will end up throwing the air outwards instead. So even if its hung in an area with a flat ceiling, leave plenty of space between the blades and the ceiling (such as when hanging on rafters of a screened-in porch). 3) If you put this someplace that already has a breeze (such as an open-air porch), a fan of this size cannot overcome a force that large. Even if a wind is slight, its a lot larger volume of air than the fan is putting out and will push the breeze of the fan in the direction of the wind. 4) This is not an industrial outdoor fan or full sized ceiling fan, don't expect the same performance from a $30 fan that you would from a $600+ fan! With these basics understood, you should have a good idea what to expect and how to properly hang this fan to get the most from it. I am certainly happy with this purchase! May add some video of this fan later, but bottom line is: Its worth the money. I spent weeks searching and you can't beat the quality and value of this fan at $29.50!

I don't want to trash this fan and after paying (too much) for it I'm desperate to make it work. I put it together and quickly noted how noisy it is when turned on -- definitely not going to work for sleeping. I took the thing apart and found a nut caught in the magnet of the motor. After unsuccessfully fishing it out and putting everything back together, the noise is still there. It was NOT the nut, but perhaps just poor alignment and what can I say -- a cheaply made plastic ceiling fan. I then tried some oil with maybe a little relief but not going to be a quiet night as far as this fan goes. Hopefully other fans shipped will be better? On the positive side is it does push a good amount of air directly overhead. If it could not buzz or squeak, all would be well with this purchase, but not this time.

It's loud for a fan (it sounds like the bearings are missing), but it circulates air nicely. I'm not sure how long it will last, but it does work. I don't have ceiling fans in my RV, so this provides a decent solution and really improves energy management.

I have this in my bedroom. I'm renting so installing a ceiling fan just isn't going to happen. This was a great solution for me. It's pretty quiet and moves a lot of air. The instructions aren't very readable. They seem like they were directly translated from google or something. But it's simple to figure out how it works and how to put it together. It gives a hard jerk when it first comes on so you have to make sure your hook is secure in a stud or it will come falling down. Also the cord is really short and the switch is maybe 5 feet from the fan so it might as well not even be there. You'll want to make sure you get your self a little extension cord if you buy this.

I really don’t have anything negative to say about the fan. It’s small and it’s really for small spaces. I installed it in my 20’x20’ 2 car garage with a 14’ ceiling. The actually put out a decent amount of air if standing directly under it. I needed more CFMs to circulate the air. Now I didn’t want an electrician with there prices so I purchased 2 other fans 125 bucks each for my garage. If you have smaller room this would be ideal especially since it has 110v out plug. Easy to install, lightweight and actually nice to look at. Again this is for smaller spaces. It works well!!!

Very very small

It works yes it makes a little sound but for a hot kitchen it it works good. I have these fans in other sizes also they all make some noise but there light can be hung anyplace and only need a hook to hold it up.
