Great little unit. Straightforward. Pleasing result.
Great little yoghurt maker. The instructions are pretty poorly translated but they're still easy to follow, if all else fails look at the pictures!I did lots of reading beforehand both reviews on here and recipes on the Internet at large.I settled on 1.5 litre of whole raw milk. With 2 tbspn organic whole milk powder. Put in pan together, bring up to 85 degrees (stirring constantly) and hold there for 15 seconds. This pasteurises the raw milk as well as altering the milk proteins for a good set. Leave to cool to 41 degrees. When cooled mix in 150ml of Yeo Valley live organic yoghurt (small pot). Whisk in well. Fill jars to 180ml line. Pop their lids on. Pour warm water (41 degree) around the jars, stopping 1 cm from neck of jars. Put main lid on machine.Set machine to 43 deg, 8 hours.Remove jars after 8 hours and transfer to fridge for few hours at least.Job done. Lightly set yoghurt, or stir it to loosen it up. Smooth, no lumps. Slightly granular compared to store bought but marginal. Lovely and mild, not sour like shop natural yoghurt. Can eat it without sweetening. Use your 8th jar as the starter for your next batch.Super happy.I checked the temperature of the water bath twice during cooking, once it read 42.1 degree and the next time it read 42.5 degree. So allow a degree discrepancy either way.The unit arrived with a bent plug pin, I just bent it back into place.Important not to knock your yoghurt maker when in use! Don't knock it, or move the jars or try and tip them, this can all affect the set.Happy yoghurt making!

Not great instructions - Good yougurts
It was a bit tricky to start with. The instructions aren't very clear. My first batch was a disaster. After searching on internet I tried the below;I heated the milk up to 180 farentheit and let this cool until it reached 110 farentheit, mixed the yougurt and poored into each pot. I recommend 12 hours. The yougurts have a great consistency and are yummy! They're going too fast so bought a spare 8 pots so I don't run out of yougurt.

Terrible instructions but product does the job
The instructions have been badly translated into English for example "As for children, whole milk powder or fresh milk is recommended. But for fat person low grease or degreased milk powder or fresh milk is recommended." Really????????!!!!!! And "Please make sure materials not overdue or degenerative." This could do with sorting out.But with help of google I have made a couple of decent batches of yogurt so it does the job. I heated the milk to 180 degrees f before cooling for safety reasons and would not recommend starting with cold milk as suggested unless the yogurt is to be used immediately. I added the optional hot water to surround the jars which definitely makes for more consistent heat. While 2 of the jars were cracked on arrival the seller has been really great at sorting that out so customer sevice is very good. A small screw top jamjar also makes a good substitute for breakages. On basis of excellent customer service have upgraded my rating to 4 stars overall.

Amazing
I REALLY LOVE IT!I have no words, just try it.Tip: after different trying to get the best yogurt we stick with the "greek style" (thicker). We discover that the milk powder is the best to make a nice yogurt. 1lt of water, between 9 to 12 milk powder spoons (depending how thick you want it), sugar as you like, blender, 10h/42° ... Then you can add fresh fruit before eating. Just heaven!

Great, super easy homemade yogurt
It’s early days really, but we’ve done a number of batches so far using either fresh milk or uht milk, with powdered milk added, and they’ve all tasted fab. Really easy to make and very satisfying. Feels great to make your own pure, tasty, gut-friendly yogurt - no added gubbins, no waste, no plastic tubs and no pricey trips to the shops for yogurt. We’re addicted!I got this model as you can vary the timer and temperature settings considerably (going to go for kefir soon) and it seems to work well. Dead easy to use. Good sized glass jars (180ml) that are dishwasher-safe. Just need to get some more for back-to-back batches.

unfathomable but worth the effort of working it out
It’s exactly what I wanted but the instructions ( translated from Chinese) are unintelligible. Really. We’re both university lecturers and were defeated and ironically it’s pretty simple We checked with a friend who also has one ( different make) and using her tips and common sense we seem to have aced it. Would have been nice to have spare tops as within a week two had disappeared, probably into the recycling. Aside from that, a brilliant gadget with excellent and economic results

Makes delicious yogurts!
I really like this yogurt maker - it looks good on my kitchen work top! I have now made several batches of yogurt using this yogurt maker - all successful and delicious. It is great to be able to make 8 yogurts at one time. I find eating yogurts from the glass pots is adds to the enjoyment of the eating, compared to eating them from bought plastic pots! In my experience starting the yogurts from a bought plain yogurt produces a better product than using a yogurt starter. I have now bought a second identical yogurt maker so I can start a new batch before all 8 yogurts previously made have been eaten and it is good to have spare pots.It would have been better to have been able to buy just spare glasses instead of a second yogurt maker. The instructions for making the yogurt could have been more clear.
