Waddell MFG Company 2522 22" Round Taper Leg

I have ordered these legs in numerous lengths many times. They seem well made and give a nice mid-century modern look to a table. They are not very thick so they work best on smaller end tables, something that does not have a lot of weight. They paint up nicely. I even charred the legs Japanese style for one table and they turned out very cool. Most products from Amazon arrive quickly -- not these legs. Service is very slow. There are a number of choices of mounting brackets to these legs: straight up and down, a slight outward angle or a combination of both. Funny thing, the brackets cost almost as much as some of the legs. Easy to install.

These are decent hardwood legs for a DIY project, but be aware that quality control appears to be a real issue. Three of the four I ordered are the same color, but one is much lighter, and consequently, will appear noticeably different when stained. Also, one leg is split at the top, with a 1" long crack that runs down the outside of the leg. This appears to be the result of drilling the pilot hole too small for the attachment screw. This isn't an issue for me, as I plan on shortening these by several inches, but it is worth noting, as a 1" crack in a furniture leg can certainly be cause for structural problems. The wood itself is solid; it appears to be some kind of ash, or cheap oak, with a strong, open grain, and these should be fine once they are cut, sanded, and finished.At this price, it might be worth it to order a couple more than you need, just to hedge your bets on getting four the same color, and/or without cracks.

I needed legs at exactly this length. These were economical, and I actually purchase a second set of four.That said, these legs do not have a lot of friction on the bottoms (plastic) and they are thin and lightweight. They made a 22 pound table top feel flimsy. I had to purchase rubber table leg covers, and back the table against a wall to make it feel firm.But again, at this price point, I purchased a second set knowing all the drawbacks.

I bought these for a midcentury modern table I built; these were the 3rd set I bought and they are so easy to install with the Waddell faceplates. The wood stains very nicely and looks great after polyurethane is on. The grain "pops."

I guess three out of four ain't bad 🤔Three legs were fine, fourth was broken. I didn't check them in first 5 days, so no recourse. Examine them pronto

Central screw put into the legs were a bit off center, about 1/8”, so if you want the legs put on perfectly it wasn’t possible. But, that small defect was not noticeable in the finished table. (Frankly, inserting the screws right into the leg’s center is one thing I’d expect any woodworking shop to get right, hunh?!) Legs otherwise flawless; good grain, four of them matched well, stained nicely.

It is a great deal for the money! the wood looks fine (sometimes slightly different tones) and the upper screw works fine.The bottom part doesn't look high quality at all, but doesn't fall apart either. I use these for some tables i make. I use them vertically so I dont know how well they work in angle (the bottom part doesn't really seems to move much anyhow)

I love the waddell line of tapered legs. They have a very midcentury modern feel to them and look nice even unstained, unpainted, and unfinished. I use them in conjuction with leg plates from my local hardware store so I can just screw them right into the plate and have a finished piece. They make cheap ikea and prefab cubby units look a lot higher end and and are never a disappointment when I buy them.
