Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course Christmas Hits, Bk 1 (Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course, Bk 1)

I purchased this book in order to prepare to play Christmas songs in about 6 - 8 months. I'm currently teaching myself to play, and I'm at a very early beginning level. This book does not have the usual guidance information at the top of each page to show which page of the lesson book should be reached before attempting each song. I contacted Alfred's for information and got absolutely no help at all. As far as I can tell, it looks like I'll need to wait to try them until NEXT Christmas. The difficulty level of even the first few songs looks like it requires completion of the entire Adult level 1.

Beautiful pieces for adults and childrens

I bought this when I was about halfway through my level 1 book with my instructor and I wasn't able to play a vast majority of these due to their complexity. The book itself is great but it is really made to be played after you've completed level 1.

This is a great addition to the Alfred basic piano lessons book in giving you songs you can play and that you can sing. The book follows the progression of the Alfred lessons book by giving you progressing difficulty as you move through the lesson book with page to page references. Only downside is that there are songs unfamiliar to me - and not as fun to just start playing when you know the tune.

I enjoyed being able to play Christmas music that sounded complex but easy to sight read and play.

My 12 year old son is learning piano since 7 years and he is doing level 4 NYSSMA and his piano teacher recommended this book . She is a piano teacher in high school . And I have no background for piano .This book is a big help to my son . Thai book is a life saver . My is loving this book and according to him it’s a great book when it comes to self learning . I will highly recommend this book .

Beautifully arranged pieces that are easy to play.

This book is great. I'm almost half through the Alfred's adult beginner course, level 1, and these songs are about right. The songs become more difficult with each page, but nothing I can't read-- even if I can't play the harder ones very well. I find it fun and challenging. I would have given it five stars if not for the inclusion of Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer. I will never understand, nor support, that ugly tune!
