This approach not only transformed my own practice, it has transformed the practice of teachers I have taught from around the US and the world. We used her approach in the graduate program I developed at the University of Houston, and the teachers that put her approach into practice found their teaching, and their students’ performances, transformed.

I've read this book, and taken two classes with the author. Karen is down to earth, approachable, and her techniques are straight forward, easy to assimilate, and make so much sense. Until I read her book and took her class, I had no idea how to direct myself. This book is a must have for any actor. And if you live in the NYC area, take one of her classes!

Outstanding tool to prepare for a monologue.. Crystal-clear, very practical and thorough suggestions that will prepare you for any audition, and with tips to carry over to scene work. Extremely easy to follow and apply. I would highly recommend this book.
