Wilson NCAA Wave Microfiber Composite Basketball, Orange

The Wilson Wave is widely used in our local high schools. Needed a ball for my son to use at home outdoors, and this is the perfect ball for that. Has close to the same "feel" as game balls used at school. Obviously being an outdoor ball it is not as soft as the game balls used, but is great for at home use.

This basketball has a great grip...still. However, the big caveat is that I only use this ball on indoor courts. I relegated my previous ball to being the only one that I use on an outdoor court. Others in my league use basketballs that don't have as good a grip, including the league's "game ball." The former might be due to their using their basketball both indoors and outdoors, but I don't know about the latter. However, I'm happy with this basketball, I'd be even happier if there was such a thing as one that could be used indoors and outdoors without the latter wearing down the grip so fast (my present outdoor basketball is nearing the end of its practical life in that regard).

The professor.. aka the only white dude on the and 1 videos and arguably one of the greatest ball handlers this universe has ever known says that this is the ball to own.. so i went ahead and bought it. Best basketball that I have used to date.. the grip on this thing is sick... GET IT.

I played ball, and my kids play ball, so we've played with Under Armour, Wilsons, Nike Elites, and many other types of balls. My daughter needed a new ball, and I purchased this one for her for Christmas. The ribbing on the ball makes all the difference. Her teammates would start telling the coach they wanted "The Wave" to use for drills. I had to buy a second one, so my daughter could use her own ball, and her teammates could fight over the other one.Like any other ball, you'll have to add air - especially after major changes in the weather.FYI: Not all refs will allow this to be a game ball.

This is the only ball I've owned for the last 10 years. Absolutely love it. Bought my first one when I was 16 and never looked back.Positives: great feel, very good grip and very easy to shoot. The ball holds up well indoors. It'll last you a long time with no noticeable issues if only used indoors. The only balls that are better are the more expensive ones. Good value for your money.Negatives: The ball doesn't hold up too well outdoors and within 2-3 years of repeated use (3-4 times a week), you will notice the ball has significant scuffing and the edges ("waves") aren't as pronounced as the used to be. It's still a good outdoor ball despite that, but you'll need to be weary of the durability issues when using outdoors.

It's a decent ball, for indoor or outdoor use. I just use it outdoors.

Perfect outside basketball

I purchased this basketball for my 15-year old grandson for Christmas. He was specific about his desire for this particular ball. I did not think I could afford it, but found it on Amazon much cheaper than other places I checked. He was extremely excited to receive the Wilson NCAA WAVE ball and has played basketball every day since.
