Protection from sun and wind. Just make sure you get wine ready and practice the night before.
I absolutely love the sun canopy tent. So much so that I bought a second one for my daughter. Setting it up was so easy by just disconnecting the white caps and the black caps and it opens in three seconds. But let me tell you when it comes to folding it up, If you are trying to follow the directions on how to fold it, you’re going to need a lot of wine and more patience than we are all born with. You can forget the directions that come with it and you can also forget the video that is posted. Neither one of those are worth two seconds of your time. Before we headed out to the beach we did a practice run in the front yard just to make sure we knew exactly what we were doing. Thank God we did because that particular night we were not able to close it at all and fold it back into the bag. The next day I had to seek additional help and we found a very creative way to wrap it back up into the closed position by first laying the whole thing on the ground flat. Someone has to stand on one end of it careful enough not to break it while the other person brings the bottom end around in the shape of a cursive letter “e” so that when you are finished you have one loop over another making sure the piece closest to the ground is small. You have to be sure not to break it. Once you wrap it you have to connect the white to the white and the black to the black. Once you get the thick elastic band around the entire thing it easily slips back into the carry case like a charm. When we finally went to the beach the next day please set this up like a pro and enjoyed it even so it got rather windy toward the end of the day. The sandbags are a great asset and we used the silver stakes to hold it down additionally. It even got hit pretty hard by some boys playing football on the beach but it never affected the stability or quality of the tent. I think that was a pretty good test. When it came time to take it down I took a deep breath and practiced what we did at home and to my surprise we got a round of applause by people on the beach. They were amazed that we took it down and wrapped it up in less than three minutes. Of course I felt a little bit proud and happy because five minutes earlier another man carried his off on his back. He couldn’t close his at all. So my recommendation is to definitely buy the tent for the convenience and quality and Protection from sun and wind. Just make sure you get your wine ready and practice the night before.

Well made, good quality
I was very happy that this was a well made product. I bought it for the beach and it worked well. It's easy to put up, but you definitely need to practice opening it, setting it up, and putting it away before you go to the beach. I ended up setting it up in the hotel room because I didn't have time to try it sooner. There aren't a lot of instructions and I had never heard of a guy line so I had to watch a couple YouTube videos to find out what a guy line was and what to do. It turns out they are nylon cords that help secure the tent. The first time I set it up and took it down, it took me awhile, but take your time and use patience and it'll be fine. Once you figure it out, you've got it. It was very secure in the sand & it's actually huge inside. The one bad thing, there wasn't much of a breeze on the beach that day, so it was hot inside of it.

I think this tent is fabulous!
Okay, so I haven't taken it to the beach yet, but after reading various reviews complaining about how to fold it up, I decided to practice on my deck. Without watching the video, it was impossible. I had to put my ego aside, watch the video, and do it three times. Now I am prepared to not look silly at the beach! It's super easy to open, and after practicing, it's super easy to close! The trick is black to black and white to white. After you have resecured the ends to each other and resnapped the little locks, this leaves you with a big circle. Grab both edges in the middle of the circle, holding both edges together with each of your hands. Bend them towards each other and as they get very close, they will twist into a figure 8. As soon as they twist, bend yourself forward at the waist to bend it in half again. Don't let go! Or it will pop open again LOL. At this point just hold on to the edges and turn it until you can see the big wide black elastic that will hold the whole thing together. Once you stretch that across the middle you can tuck in all the excess tent and pop it back into its bag! As you can see from my pictures, this fits either a lounger or a deck chair. I do not see how three people are going to fit into this though. I think two people will fit comfortably in low chairs. Design-wise, I love having the pockets inside to hold things, but don't put your wallet in it because it's clearly visible from the outside. I think those inside pockets would be much more efficient for hiding things if they were not part of the outside screen. I'm quite sure this is going to be just as wonderful at the beach! 👍

Easy
The instructions are attached so it makes it very easy to set up and take down. The set up is the easist as you undo a couple of velcro straps and throw it to an unoccupied area and voila all set. Take down is a bit more difficult as you have to twist to fold it up but again, the instructions are very easy to follow and it might require a couple of times to master it. The only item I would change is to add a cover for the side vents but that it is nit picking at best. I compared it many others that have more splines and are a bit more compliated in construction. One thing I like is that this is very simple and more then likely more reliable. This replaced some sunbrella stick in the ground umbrellas and this is much more easy to set up, lighter, and good wind resistance. Good shelter at the beach but still enjoying the beach
