It’s amazing!
It’s amazing! I can’t believe there is a soy free sauce for some of us who can no longer eat soy. The sodium is high, so I’ll have to be careful with that. What I can say yes it’s pricey, but worth it! But this has that umami flavors that’s been missing from some of the other wanna be no soy sauce. This has a lovely smooth texture, it’s not just salty, it has a depth of flavors, plus it’s not watery. I had bought 2 kinds, one made with pea protein and this one. I compared the 2, as I was happy about the other as of yesterday, but today taste tested the 2, this one wins! My spouse though it was legit tamari. I’m nervous this won’t be around for too long, so I’ll prob buy another bottle just incase. Coconut aminos just doesn’t do it for me and it’s nothing like tamari. I only wish this company made a low sodium version. Yup if you are missing soy sauce this may be the way to go, just be aware of the sodium amount (1 TBS is about 840 mg)

It’s pricey, but it tastes JUST LIKE soy sauce.
This stuff is awesome in a bottle.I’ve tried soy imitators before. I get terrible migraines from soy, which is why I can’t eat it.I looked into this company and found that they are located on an island known for a soy sauce museum. Obviously they know soy sauce.Thank you Takahashi for thinking of those of us who can’t eat soy.

Tastes just like my best soy sauce
The best soy sauce I’ve ever tasted is unpasteurized Ohsawa Nama Shoyn! This product tastes just like it and it is also called Shoyn so I’m guessing that this product probably uses the same process and is also unpasteurized so will have to be refrigerated like the Ohsawa. I deducted one star because of the price. Ocean’s Halo nosoy sauce is also an option that tastes quite good. This product tastes substantially better but it costs four times as much 😳

Gluten free and tasty!
What did I ever do without this? I use it on sushi and in recipes instead of soy sauce. Tastes great. Lots less expensive than quinoa soy sauce substitute.

SHOYU You Won’t Forget
This is a wonderful alternative to the hum drum, everyday soy products. It’s a tasty, fermented favs bean based SHOYU that has depth delicious salad dressings to stir fries. Paired with an artisan fish sauce, it’s great on brown rice or quinoa and steamed veggies with tofu. I highly recommend the product. You won’t regret it!

tastes fine but costs too much
I am soy and gluten intolerant so this product met my dietary needs and it doesn't taste bad so I can continue to enjoy Asian foods. But $20 for only 6.7 ounces of fermented fava beans and water is just too much. My husband makes a lot of his own fermented foods so I am going to experiment making my own non-soy sauce with fermented fava beans. If this product's manufacturer wants to keep me as a customer, they need to cut their price in half.

I can have Asian food again!
After developing a thyroid issue, I've cleaned up my diet and sadly, cut out any and all soy products. I have missed stir fry and saucy rice bowls for about 8 months. I stumbled upon this and figured, well we don't eat out much, so $20 would be like one take out meal. So happy I splurged! Coconut aminos just don't cut it IMHO. This however, this is pretty darn close. I will be ordering this again and again because I'm so grateful to be enjoying Asian cuisine every week once more.

Excellent flavor, great for folks with soy allergy
While a little saltier than the low sodium true soy sauce I use, the flavor was really deep and very much like (if not identical) to soy sauce. This has been a life saver, as my lady has a sever soy allergy. Highly recommend.
