Does a great job with all four different types of plate. Removable plates are a game-changer both for cleaning, and making it much more versatile than a basic sandwich maker. Power is not adjustable but having used it I don't think there would be any benefit if it was.I have made paninis, tortillas, ommlettes (no flipping hassle here), both batter and potato waffles, and of course regular toasted sandwiches. Yet to try pastry, but have heard that can be done too.The waffles are pleasingly big - one per person is enough; two is greedy.The lid is not a floating design, so clamps down hard on highly stuffed paninis; they still taste good but don't look as impressive once squashed and cooked. Tortilla wraps take the squashing better as long as you have wrapped them properly so the filling does not escape.A few negatives: 1) minimal instructions - not that it is difficult to use, but a guide for cooking times for the different snacks would be helpful, as well as ingredients and quantities to make the right amount of waffle batter. Top tip for all types of snack: when no more steam is coming out it is about done. 2) while the plates are easy to remove and clean, the hinge area still gets oily and steamy and is less easy to clean. The unit can be stored upright stood on its hinge, but oil and water that have escaped into the hinge will then drip out, so remember to tip it up over the sink first, and then stand it on a tray or some kitchen roll or you will find a greasy puddle under the machine.3) some sort of holder or sleeve to store and protect the 3 pairs of plates not installed would have been useful. Fortunately I have a 3D printer, so I made my own - this isn't going to be an option for most people, but - Google "Printables Salter Snack Maker" if you do have one!

Well designed and built versatile toaster with one possible exception. This is the clasp which seems flimsy and is mentioned in a few feedbacks. ‘This may not be a problem if the toaster lid is held down securely before clasp is engaged but time will tell. The sets of plates are made of cast alloy which do not distort and the unit quickly heats up and cooks. All together I am pleased with this toaster especially for the price.

Well worth it, easy to use and clean, makes huge sandwiches and alot more besides. Takes a little longer to cook than you might expect, but the results are worth it. Highly recommend.

So far we have tried toasties, brilliant and so easy to clean up. Also omelette same again plenty of space for ham, grated cheese and mushrooms. So easy to clean up.
