ABSOLUTELY A GREAT WATCH, SO GLAD I SAW A FRIENDS, NOW I OWN ONE!!!
A very good friend of mine had this watch and I asked him about it, and he told me all about it and how much he loved it. He is a techie and nerd just like me. We engineers and Ham radio operators always want the best gadgets and a good watch is one of them. Never need to set or change the time, easy to read, charges by sunlight, not a bad thing I can say! Everytime I now use and look at this watch, I say to myself and others.... I LOVE this watch! I like the total all black because the chrome trim one takes away from the display and it somewhat a distraction, the ALL black face watch as shown here is the one my friend had and the same one I got and I am very very happy with it. It also STAYS on your arm and does not slide around or move upside down on your arm. I love that and the plastic band is very comfy! So glad I found this watch. I now tell all my techie, nerd, engineer friends about this watch when I see them, Amazon had the best price too than any local store!

Great value for what you’re getting. Husband loves it!
Got this as a Father’s Day present for my husband. He absolutely loves it. Substantial feel to the materials. Fits well and looks masculine on my 6’4” husband.

The perfect time piece
The best watches I've ever owned by far! This is my 3rd G Shock with the 3rd band on it now. The bands I'm very rough with. I've been wearing one every day since 1981. I wouldn't trade mine for any other brand. Rugged, waterproof, and will take blue collar, hard work and keep perfect time. This is my 2nd solar powered one and that's even better. It sets itself every night and I never need to worry that I have the exact time. You will not regret owning this watch!

Classic and full featured G-Shock
I had a previous edition of this watch for twelve years and bought this one to replace it when the solar battery finally began to die. It is a nice compromise between the bulkier G-Shocks (I own several of these) and the smaller profile 5600 series. The atomic time synched works very well on mine; I wear it to bed and it syncs overnight. It also syncs when in the watch case. I live in SW FL and summer in the Boston area. And it received the signal most nights. It is extremely accurate without the syncing and, if you need it, there is a two dollar app you can get for use in tough reception locales. Mine arrived fully charged and has never dropped below high. While not a fashion statement, this model give you everything the best G Shocks have and at an extremely affordable price. The band is vey high quality and comfortable. The little round dials are impossible to read but seldom needed. Stop watch, timer, world clock—these are all intuitive for the seasoned G-Shock owner, but you can always download the manual from the G-Shock site and toss the hard to read add booklet. Even though I own ten other G-Shocks, I keep coming back to this old favorite for daily (and nightly) use. The backlight is very bright and the automatic illumination feature is handy when waking up at night for those trips to the bathroom. There are several versions of this model, and they all look great. Get one and you’ll be glad no matter how many fancier watches you own.

Awesome watch. Casio fails with countdown timer.
I have always had Timex Ironmans my entire life. I never got a G-Shock because I didn't see much benefit over the Timex. but I am 99% in love with this watch after owning it for a few months now. The things that I love are: 1) Solar - every time I change the battery on my Timex it became less water resistant. this watch arrived with the battery indicator on high and it has not moved from there since I owned it. Even though I work about half the time on overnight shifts. 2) Atomic - No more wondering if you have the exact right time. The watch regularly sinks with the atomic clock almost every evening regardless of where I have it in my house. When around some the equipment I use it work it won't sync. But for the most part, it reliably does it's job. 3) All black - This model looks so much nicer in my opinion than the different variations of the same watch that have colored accents on them. It looks better for most occasions. 4) Large display - One of the major factors for me never considering a G-Shock was that the numbers on the display were always extremely small. I appreciated the large numbers on the Ironman. But this model has adequately sized numbers that are not difficult to see in any lighting condition. 5) Indiglo style backlight - I always loved the Timex backlight. It is bright and evenly lit so seeing the time in complete darkness is not an issue. All of the G-Shocks I ever looked at had some little dim backlight that shown from the side and did not illuminate the entire of watch face. That was a no go for me. This G-Shock has the same Indiglo style as the Timex. The only complaints I have about the G-Shock is that the timer function only allows you to set a minimum countdown time of one minute. There is a very specific task at my job that requires the countdown of 30 seconds. This watch simply does not allow you to set a timer for 30 seconds. It seems like that should be a relatively easy thing to incorporate into the module, but Casio for some reason has decided that no one needs to count down less than one minute. For that reason, I have given the watch four stars instead of five. All in all, I could not be happier with my purchase. I highly anticipate that this watch will be going strong many many years from now.

Very Satisfied. Tough, Accurate
I've had this watch going on 2 yrs. When I got it, the battery was low and the clock was not set for my time zone. At first I was worried because I couldn't get it to atomic set. Was dead of winter in CT. After 9 days, it suddenly set itself in the middle of the night. I kept it in the sun as much as possible for the gray New England winter. Within 2 weeks it was fully charged and on correct time. It's waterproof features are awesome. It's tough, and has been banged up several times. Very slight damage to the face from work. I work on the railroad in all elements, and never not dirty. I'm completely satisfied with this watch. It's still on full charge and has never gone down so far. I set the atomic clock to program it once a week or so, just to keep as accurate as necessary. There are times that it doesn't set itself. That's atmospheric. It's definitely worth the money for me. At first I also felt it was a bit small. And it is. It's not a huge face, but it's just right for me. The resin band is tough but comfortable. This is the BEST watch I've ever had. In forms of toughness, capabilities, charge hold, accuracy, size, band.... This watch has been in the toughest situations.

A worthy successor
I've been rocking a classic DW5600E-1V since 2008. I have changed the battery 3-4 times and it has been nothing short of a perfect and comfortable time-keeping device. I went swimming though and it took on water - not just fogging. So the hunt began. I could have just gotten the tough solar version of the 5600 but I was open to trying something new. I wanted solar, a little easier/practical to navigate, larger than average (for Casio) numbers, and multi-band sync. This checked all those boxes and also had easy to set dual/world time, not to mention you can navigate forward and back (unlike the module in the 5600). Yes, the subdials are mostly for show but you really don't need to know what's on them to operate and set up the watch as you like. I have to admit this looked a little weird - maybe not as much as many over the top G's - but still less conservative than what I was used to. I really do wonder what person or team designed this watch. It has lines that have really grown on me but how did this come into production? I decided to go for it - the large numbers was the biggest initial factor. After wearing it for a couple weeks though I have to say it is hands-down the most comfortable and balanced watch I've had on my wrist. It doesn't rotate, is very light - even as it's a bit thicker than my previous G. It also has a very comfortable proprietary band that is of moderate length and a slick keeper that you don't have to readjust all day. I've been from New England to Virginia and it's been 100% reliable syncing time automatically overnight or manually. Just go through the manual slowly if you have questions (or download it from Casio support) and you'll get to know the features pretty easily. I'll be wearing this until it dies - hopefully another 10+ years.

Stylish, comfortable band, solar powered, ultra accurate, my favorite G-Shock
My 6th G-Shock, which I've been wearing for many years. This is unquestionably the best so far (though I do have a Rangeman on order, due to arrive next week, that could take the lead). The Atomic Timekeeping function is sweet, it will keep your watch accurate literally to the second. I just prop on the windowsill at night while I sleep, and it synchs with the satellite in my area. Also love the solar battery, my 2nd solar Casio watch. Tired of changing batteries, which generally breaks the waterproof seal (have wrecked a few watches that way). Just be sure to keep it exposed to light as often as possible (indoor lighting will work, but direct sunlight better). Automatically powers off at night, display goes blank until exposed to light. Great energy saver. Easy to program, it came with a manual (tiny print) that explained everything thoroughly. Band is very comfortable for my medium sized wrists. Numbers are easy to read, larger than my other Casio watches, good background contrast. The alarm is very soft, if you need this to wake you in the morning, you will be late for work :-) Other than that, perfect. Love this watch!

Perfect watch
I was in need of a tough watch for work and tried a few different brands in my collection. This watch was always on my mind but kept myself from purchasing due to bulk and resin. It had me thinking not very comfortable, or that it might turn out into a regret purchase that should not have happened. Well I was wrong on all accounts it is super comfortable right of the hop the band doesn’t need to wear in like other watches. The features amazing it took seconds to get signal and setup my watch to time and date. The light is bright enough to see everything. Highly recommended purchase. And not a huge watch

Elegante G-Shock, pas trop "bulky"
Jolie montre de la série Casio G-Shock mais sans être trop bulky. Recharge solaire en plus.

Just perfect
I bought this to replace my older generation g-shock and because of the tough solar system. So far so good, it's hard not to love this watch, both design and functionality are marvelous.
