Makes cheap stuff look like pro gear ๐ฅ
Iโve been using matte black vinyl car wrap on random 3D prints and some of my everyday electronics, and honestly it makes them look like they came that way from the factory. It hides a lot of the layer lines and cheap plastic shine, and the finish is that perfect โnot too shiny, not too chalkyโ matte. Once you get the hang of using a heat gun and a squeegee (or an old credit card if youโre fancy like me), it stretches nicely around simple curves and corners. For the price, itโs kind of ridiculous how much more โpremiumโ everything looks. Itโs not perfect though. Tight, complex curves and tiny details can be annoying, the vinyl will crease or want to lift if you rush it. Edges on high-touch spots (like phone cases or remote controls) can start to peel if you donโt wrap them around far enough or really press them down. Dust and lint show up while youโre applying it too, so surface prep actually matters more than youโd think. But for a literal fraction of the cost of special matte filaments or custom parts, this stuff is 100% worth it, itโs basically a cheap little โpro finishโ hack.

Good stuff - got the job done
I used this stuff to wrap the front of a portable AC unit. All of the furniture in my basement is black or with a wood grain pattern so the white AC was really out of place, it was practically glowing. I should preface this review by mentioning that I have never wrapped anything before. A while back I considered wrapping my laptop but with the way I'm so particular about very small details I always felt like the wrapping process would drive me crazy and I would never be happy with the end result. This AC project didn't require nearly as much precision as wrapping a laptop so I was willing to give it a try. The end result was pretty good. I ended up with a few creases toward the bottom around the left hand edge but it's virtually impossible to see that. I was mainly concerned with getting the front of the unit a smooth matte black. Mission accomplished. This wrap was fairly easy to work with. I was able to pull it off and re-apply it over and over as I worked my way down from top to bottom. I didn't have a squeegee or whatever other tools you're supposed to use, instead applying it by hand all the way down. I didn't use any heat at all either. On the bottom I had about a half inch of fold under so I used some electrical tape to secure the bottom edge. I'm not sure how well it will hold up but since it will be inside I think it ought to be fine. If it starts peeling off I'll have plenty more to try it all again. Final notes: - Dimensions: I dunno what dimension is supposed to be 2 feet, but this roll was absolutely not 2 feet in either dimension. I haven't completely unfurled it but I'm assuming that's the 5 foot dimension. The roll I received is 3 feet tall. So I'm pretty sure I received a 3'x5' product. This worked out ok but I was counting on the 2' roll as I would have only had to cut out my piece in one direction rather than trim it in two directions. - Packing: the outer packaging was a sturdy cardboard box with some paper which offered ample protection during shipping. However, there were two very annoying pieces of tape used to keep it from unfurling in its packaging. This tape left a slight oily sheen on the matte surface which I didn't realize until after I had cut the piece to size and applied it. I was able to "buff out" the oily sheen with a dry rag.

Decent quality for half the price of name brand vinyls
This wrap is one of the cheapest out there. Got enough for my jeep for less than $300. 3M 2080 would be double the price. Not the best for beginners because itโs thick, brittle, and pretty stiff material that requires a good amount of heat to work with. The adhesive isnโt the best, did a full post heat and post heated all the corners to seal, but some edges lifted after a couple of weeks. After the 2nd time post heating the edges that do stay but you practically have to melt the material to be sure it doesnโt move. All in all itโs the best price for decent quality just make sure you know what youโre doing. Finish does look great in the end but weโll see how long it holds up compared to 3M 2080 and Avery sw900

The matte black car vinyl wrap is a sleek and stylish way to change the appearance of your vehicle. The matte finish gives the car a modern and sophisticated look, while also providing a durable layer of protection for the original paint. Used for interior piano black, great use if youโre good with wrap.
I used this matte black wrap to cover up the piano black trim in my car's interior. If you can handle the wrapping and cutting process, the finished product looks perfect. It completely changed the look of the cabin and got rid of the glare and fingerprints that usually come with the stock gloss finish. The vinyl itself is high quality and has a nice texture to it. However, the installation was pretty challenging for me since Iโm not an expert at wrapping. Getting it around the corners and making clean cuts takes a lot of patience and a steady hand. If you have the right tools and some experience, youโll probably have a much easier time than I did. Overall, itโs a great way to mod your interior as long as you know what youโre getting into. It looks professional once itโs actually down, but the learning curve is real if you haven't done it before. It is definitely worth it to get rid of the factory plastic look.

Good vinyl, simple to apply
I used this to wrap some off-road lights on my vehicle. They only came with amber covers, but I needed something that would fully block the light, so I decided to use this black vinyl. It worked really well for that purpose. The material is easy to work with and applies without too much difficulty. Once installed, it gives a clean look and does exactly what I needed. Overall, a good and versatile vinyl thatโs easy to use for custom projects.
