Pre-Used No Box, but 100% perfect, Price, Performance and Prompt shipping.
In the past, I have had relativley bad luck with being a preused router. YOu never know what this thing has gone through...Well, apparently this router did not go through much, and not only is it good as a stand alone router, it also compliments mesh functionality......Now if only they had a Netgear Nighthawk X4 AC2200 Wi-Fi Range Extender EX7300 v2 and a NETGEAR EX8000100NAS Nighthawk X6S 1000 Mbps Tri-band Wi-Fi Range Extender, for a similar price, I would be in heaven..Good Product, Good Seller, what more can you ask?

So far, so good
I installed this X6S AC3600 this morning; it was a breeze. Whenever I get a new “computer related” piece of hardware, my mind races back to the mid-90’s, when installing anything tech required you to call Bangalore India and try to understand a person that was genuinely trying to help you, but was all but impossible to understand. Those days are gone forever, but the nightmare remains with me. Perhaps that’s why I waited about a year too long to replace my previous NETGEAR router, which had, over the process of three years, literally burned itself out. Towards the end I was resetting it at least twice a day. So this new router seems to be a breath of fresh air. First, it was incredibly easy to install. The NETGEAR app took the place of the Bangalore phone call, and even guided me thru the relatively easy (but outwardly daunting) task of changing the factory preset SSID, to match my old SSID. As a result, I didn’t have to reset any of my WiFi devices for the new router; it was seamless (I’m talking about three security cameras, a printer, our MacAir, our ‘BigMac,’ and all our tablets, phones, plus the TV, and Alexa... sweet!). It’s range is far superior to our old NETGEAR, and the download/upload speeds have also increased greatly! I’m impressed. Here’s a special bonus for the free world, it ISN’T made in China; buying this router doesn’t feed the beast! It was a bit spendy, but, as the the man said as he was falling down the 20 story building, “so far, so good!”

Support stinks
This Router was expensive and it died at 9 months! called for support and they are most worried about getting you to purchase tech support first before they will even look to see what the problem is. I feel I spent enough money and did not want to give credit card info out with a possible charge of 85.00 being the least. I just called it and off to the trash it goes.this thing worked great until one morning it just stopped would not connect to the internet again. went back to a smaller less expensive router reconnected and back in business. my next router will not be NETGEAR!I feel Netgear could and should handle thing differently.

Perfect signal in all rooms and smart connect rocks
I ordered this product for 2 reasons, signal strength and smart connect. The firmware on my old R6220 Netgear router updated and made it where I had to have a separate username and password for both the 2.4 ghz an the 5 ghz bands that my high speed connection puts out. It initially was not required but to have one username and password to push the speed thru and my devices would use the bandwidth they needed. With this I am getting full strength in my bedroom whereas I did not before. With ONE username and ONE password! I can now enjoy full strength service anywhere in the house. My cable company offers 1 gig speeds so I’m also going to get a 10 gig modem to run higher speeds up to 3.5 gigs which is all this router will push through. Might not need anything stronger than 1 gig but I certainly want to use the router and new modems potential. I believe the tri band and the 6 antennas pushing the single out hard, allows me to get the most usage of my connection. If I had known about this sooner, oh boy would I have gotten it. Was kind of forced to because of the annoying separate usernames and passwords, and weak signal strength of my old Netgear router. Netgear is by far the best and easiest to use and set up. I’m happy to use their products. Best one I’ve ever had so far.

The Nighthawk is easy to install into the home network
The installation is fairly easy. Be prepared to have all your Unames and PWs on hand. Be prepared to extend your power cords and your network cables. Name the 3 bands something easy. Use a easy router password, you will be entering it quite often. I wish the indicator lightson the router were both on top and one of the sides; climbing your ladder over and over to see the lights is an impediment. Monitor all your WIFI devices very closely, some of mine did not react well to the new router. I had to lower the bandwidth to support some of my older devices. It took about a week of tinkering to get all the devices happy in the new environment.
