I used to love this watch. It was a prized possession of mine, read my original review below to see all the reasons why.I now regret writing that review and hope nobody bought a Junghans watch based on my previously enthuisiatic recommendation. I have changed my rating from five stars to one star because of a disastrous design choice made by the manufacturer.I have now had this watch about a year and I have had to replace the crystal twice. It is maddeningly easy to scratch the "hardened" acrylic crystal of this watch. Junghans' Sicralan coating looks beautifully glossy as I mentioned earlier but it seems to offer no protective improvement at all over the basic acrylic crystals found on $10.00 no-name watches you find at Walmart. Take some boxes down from a wooden shelf? That's a big scratch. Bump lightly into an aluminum cart at work? Another big scratch. I have no idea where the other scratches came from.What the "protective" coating does do is prevent polishing solutions for acrylic crystals from being able to buff out the scratches like any other acrylic crystal would allow. In fact when I tried to buff out the scratches on my second crystal the scratches remained but the crystal developed numerous radial cracks.The long and short of it is that I can no longer wear this watch regularly. It just costs too much to keep sending it away for crystal replacement from the very few repair shops that can supply parts for Junghans watches.I do not blame the seller for any of this, their service was excellent during the sale. By all means buy any other brand of watch from them, just do not buy a Junghans watch if it has an acrylic crystal. Junghans' acrylic process provides all easy scratchability of cheap acrylic crystals without the ability to buff out scratches that most experts list as an advantage of acrylic crystals.MY PREVIOUS REVIEW IS BELOW AND IS UN-EDITED. I am extremely pleased with both the quality and style of this watch. It is a timeless,classic recreation of the great Bauhaus-style watches of the mid-twentieth century. It strikes me as an updated version of a beautiful 1950's Omega watch that my father owned, which sadly my family no longer possesses.The photos in this sale listing (or even on Junghans' own website) do not do this watch justice.The crystal, case & crown are beautifully smooth and shiny. The face, hands & markings are precise and perfect even under a magnifying lens. The watch looks elegant and classy from all angles, you can quickly tell that this is a well-made timepiece from a prestigious watchmaker. When you hold the watch you can see and feel the impressive build quality.This is the most comfortable watch I can remember wearing. The leather strap is pleasingly soft and pliant. The strap fits the shape of the wrist closely which keeps the watch in place without having to wear the strap too tightly. The curved back of the case and the size/angle of the lugs help the watch remain centered on the wrist and find its way back to home position after any jostling that occurs. The lugs never touch the wrist and the smooth back of the case feels pleasant against the skin.This watch keeps time as well as any Quartz watch I have ever owned. The automatic movement has proven itself in that I have not wound this watch since the first time I put it on. On a sentimental note I very much enjoy owning a precision mechanical watch again. Watch collectors or anyone who wants an attractive,classic watch that looks great in casual or dress situations would certainly enjoy this watch, or other selections from Junghans' excellent Max Bill line.The vendor delivered the watch to us faster than the estimated arrival date, which is appreciated for a US-to-Canada delivery. Overall I am completely pleased with this purchase.

Die Max Bill Automatik besticht vor allem optisch.Das Baushaus Design überzeugt in der Klarheit und Funktionalität.Das Automatik Uhrwerk gibt keinen Anlass zur Klage.Aufgrund des geringen Gewichts trägt sich die Uhr angenehm leicht.

Die Junghans Max Bill ist absolut ein Kauf. Die Optik spricht für sich, technisch schließe ich mich meinen Vorrednern an. Wer sie einmal am Handgelenk hatte wird sich nie mehr von ihr trennen. Habe lange gesucht um sehr gute Qualität und Design zu einem solchen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis zu bekommen. Würde jederzeit wieder diese Uhr kaufen.
