Works Great for a year or so.....
I purchased the MD Scope 1 year ago. Despite there being no "sleep mode" once the unit is activated, which allows the batteries to wear out in just 15 minutes if not actively turned off, the unit performed well and visualized the ear canal and ear drum much better than traditional scopes. However, the last few months, the on-off switch/image capture button started malfunctioning. With several uses I could not even get the scope to work. Worse, the imaging became so blurry and grainy, it was unusable. I finally emailed MD Scope. They offered to "sell" me a replacement unit at the repair cost ($565). Gee, thanks guys. Does that mean in another 1 1/2 years I get to buy ANOTHER new unit for $565? Otherwise, they deferred to the distributor to repair or replace the scope.I eventually emailed JEDMED, who no longer distribute the scope (I understand why) and they worked out a cost effective way to get the scope back up and running. SHAME ON MD SCOPE for not standing behind its products and instead "hiding" behind the distributor to initiate a solution for the customer.Unless you receive a 5 year warranty with the MD Scope, save your money and invest in a GN Otometrics Otocam 300. It might cost upwards of $3,500, but it is superior in quality and will last.

I purchased this otoscope and it worked great for about a month or so
I purchased this otoscope and it worked great for about a month or so. The main issue was that the image was foggy and virtually unreconizeable and therefore the otoscope was unusable because there is no manual view option. The cap got stuck on quite frequently as well. It is beyond frustrating trying to start an exam but can't because you are fumbling around trying to get the cap off. I do feel like I have wasted a significant amount of money and I would never reccomend this product to anyone.
