Easy to install. Three keys with purchase is great. Seems sturdy. Will keep this in mind if I ever need to change other locks

Seeing how easy it is to break through a basic euro cylinder is pretty shocking. I swapped out the 0 star cylinder for this three star (the maximum rating available), it's an easy swap, 2 minutes with a screwdriver. It's clearly more secure, sacrificial snap points to stop making things easy for a burglar, as well as the keys having two slots, so anyone trying to pick the lock, would effectively need to pick two locks at a time. Just remembered to measure up properly, as these aren't all the same length.

I have recently moved house and wanted a new lock for my front door, and this is the highest star rating (3), and it’s Yale, so it’s a name I know and quality I trust. I’ve also had a similar lock, with the new key design before, and while I don’t love that you put it into the cylinder horizontally, if it makes it a safer lock, I’ll deal with it. I got mine for £26 on an Amazon resale deal, so I’m very pleased with this price. I also received two of the long screws that you use to attach the cylinder to the door, but I think this might have been a mistake — one was still sealed in the packaging, the other was loose. I checked that each of the three keys fit and rotated before I swapped the cylinders out. Installing the new one was easier than removing the old cylinder. I removed the handle and the plate, fought with the old cylinder as the hole in the uPVC wasn’t done perfectly and was about 2mm out. The new cylinder slid straight in and the screw went in easily after a little wiggling to get the cylinder in the right place. I retested all 3 keys after reattaching the handle plate, no problems at all However, the item description is a bit unhelpful. The image that shows you how to measure the size you need labels the external measurement as ‘A’, and the internal as ‘B’. I think most people would assume that ‘A’ would be the first number in the A/B split, but Yale’s own website states “the internal size is always stated first in the product description”. As this is sold directly through Yale’s own Amazon store, yet the image implies the opposite, I wonder if this difference is why Amazon lists this item as being frequently returned. My cylinder is 45 internal, 50 external, so I chose this one based on the UK Yale website’s measuring guidelines. It was what I needed.

Having purchased a Palladio door i decided to upgrade the supplied lock. The only fly in the ointment is you have the perfectly align the key to slide into the lock. Some Yale locks kind of self centre the key into the lock as the end of the key is tapered, the keys for this lock are square ended. Not a major issue when you get used to it. Would buy again if needed.
