LCD screen failed after about 3 months of usage. I barely used it and didn't even handle it that often. Pretty disappointing. Though, the majority of the scale is sturdy and well thought out, the part that houses the screen is a bit flimsy. I'm not sure if it was the flex that did it, or maybe it just had a bad solder joint. Anyway, All-Clad is handling the warranty now, but I would have preferred something that doesn't break considering the high cost. When it did work, I loved it. Response was pretty good, but could be better when I was measuring coffee beans. If you're out in super bright sunlight the screen is difficult to read. I used it sometimes outside to measure pool chemicals which I'd probably be unable to do with other scales due to smaller size and weight limits. Update: It took a while for my replacement to get to me (2-3 week processing evaluation if you read the fine print) that I ended up buying a highly recommended OXO scale. By the time it came, I forgot about it and it sat in the shipping box for a few weeks. When I finally put it to use, it worked for a couple days, then kept giving me an error message. Basically, I thought it wasn't level. As you can see from the 3rd photo, my counter is indeed level. Back it went and I got my replacement after more weeks of waiting. Though I haven't had any problems with this new unit, I'm skeptical since I'm already past the short warranty period they have. I recommend staying far away from this product. Update 2: Another permanent ERR message. It was NEVER used. Sat in the box after I tested it on arrival. Brought it out months later and it's dead. Back in the box it goes to All Clad again. At least they don't question the length of time it's been.

Lasted about 2 1/2 years with light-moderate use. Now won't stay on and is out of warranty. I guess it worked fine for two years, but that's when warranty -- and product -- runs out.
