The MIC-2505 2.5kV 2Tohms Insulation Resistance Tester (Megohmmeter) from Sonel is a professional level meter, designed for undertaking a comprehensive range of insulation resistance measurements on electrical circuits and components, with test voltages, up to 2500V (2.5kV) Test voltages of 500, 1000, and 2500V can be selected. During the testing procedure either continuous insulation resistance or leakage current measurements can be displayed in real time. At the end of the test, the meter will automatically discharge the capacitance from the circuit or object under test. Results are displayed on the large multifunction backlit LCD display. The MIC-2505 has a built in timer with fixed programmable times of 15, 60 or 600 seconds and elapsed T1, T2 and T3 times for measurement of one or two absorption coefficients. During the measuring process the MIC-2505 will sound an audible tone at 5 second intervals to facilitate capturing time characteristics of the measurement. The applied test voltage is always clearly displayed continuously to show the user that the object under test is having the correct voltage applied without any deviations. A feature to protect the user from inadvertently trying to measure an energised object wil block the test procedure if voltage above 20V is detected on connection of the MIC-2505 to an energised circuit. Other features of the MIC-2505 include the ability to measure AC and DC voltages up to 600V and a low voltage resistance measurement with a 200mA for resistance and continuity, and masurement of protective connections and bonding. The MIC-2510 is shipped complete with a professional carry bag with test leads, crocodile clips, pin probes, power supply adapter, rechargeable battery pack, hanging staps, and calibration certificate.
