I have owned the analog version of this product (IRT 3) for five years now. It had work wonderfully. I purchased this digital version thinking it would be a step up. It is terrible. It cannot deal with any humidity when doing insulation resistance testing. I tried during the summer. It would show the heat cable i wad testing failed after about 15 seconds. Tried testing with analog and it read just fine. Turning gfci breaker on also indicated no problems. This digital tester performed equally bad when temps and humidity were lower. Not worth extra money. Stick with the IRT 3. Only wish i had returned right away.

Just what we wanted/ordered.

Insulation test function did not work. I sent it back to UEI for repair. They sent it back promptly and said that it was working fine. I tried it again and could not get a resistance reading on a new motor. Called UEI and they wanted me to ship it back but this time to Canada. I decided to get a refund and buy a Fluke. Don't waste your time on this one.

I work for a pump company and we use these on a daily basis. The older meters work just fine, but there seem to be calibration issues with the new ones. Several times I've megged a motor with the new meter we got and received off the wall readings, used an older meter right afterwards and everything reads normal.
