Just what the thumb ordered
So, I have an overuse injury of my left thumb (partial texting, partial bicycle riding, partial old hyper extension injury). What I need is to stabilize and decrease motion of the thumb so it can rest and heal. My original injury used to be called a gamekeepers thumb (although my tendon is not avulsed). Since I believe in staying with name brands I tried this brace and one by Ace. Both are comfortable, both help remind me not to overuse the thumb, and both have stays, but this one allowed for more flexibility in adjusting the amount of support while still providing some thumb movement, but also really supports the wrist (necessary to adequately restrict the thumb). It also allows for more variation in how much support you create, but even in the looser adjustments still provides thumb support. This brace customizes its fit using velcro closures - 2 at the wrist and one over the thumb. This allows you to create a comfortable fit for the hand yet keep the thumb restricted. You don't need to tighten it way down over the hand (which squeezes the hand) to get the support you need. The stays used in this splint are long (extending from the wrist to over the thumb joint) and are shaped well to place the thumb in a natural but supported position. Compared to the Ace, this is a more robust device, provides much better support and will I think last longer thru washings and extended use. It is more bulky though. I thought about the Grey, but didn't see spending the extra money. In either case it will be obvious that you're wearing a device. I've seen some reviewers of these stability devices say that the device allows for support but continues to allow texting. News flash!. Getting over texting thumb requires stopping the use of your thumb for texting!!! So if that's your goal (to continue texting) this is NOT the device for you because it actually works to restrict the thumb motion in a manner that makes texting difficult to do. In other words it does what it's supposed to!! From a sizing perspective, I believe this device (compared to the Ace) provides more meaningful flexibility for obtaining a good fit with different sized hands. I'm an adult make with moderate sized (7.5 surgical glove size) hands, and there is still lots of adjustment potential both up and down. Conclusion: I really like this device. If you're serious about rehabilitating your thumb injury, I think this is an excellent option. Mueller is a company that's been around a long time. My family has used their stabilizers for other joints as well. They still hold up. Give it a go!!

It's a Good One
This brace is easy to use and it does help with thumb pain. No brace completely eliminates pain but this product is very good. It is easy to put on and take off and allows complete adjustment. The only negative I have is the amount of hook and loop use on the writ adjustment. After several days of taking it off and putting it back on, the hook and loop on the elastic wrist adjustment strap becomes a bit difficult to remove. To solve this I placed a bit of felt over the male portion so that not as mush was exposed to grip the strap. I not only would but it again I have bought it again.

Best one so far
This one works much better than the slightly different one that several other brands sell. Firstly it's made of better materials. Everything is properly stitched. Nothing is heat welded together. It also holds the thumb more stably than the other ones. The velcro is also good quality. The one flaw I find is that the wrist wrap attaches to itself and can lose tension, causing it to slide down your wrist. It would be more stable if it attached diagonally to a different part of the brace. There simply isn't enough extra velcro on the other parts to make that work reliably.

Works great, mid range support brace
Got this for my โMommy wristโ pain (De Quervain's tenosynovitis). I liked this brace because it was easy to put on and off, and it gave support without being too inconvenient. However, if your condition is severe, you may need more support. When I saw a specialist, he suggested a brace with more support. But this brace did help! I wore this guys 20 hours/ day and it held up the 3 months I had to wear it! In addition, I would say this is a size to fit most. I have very small hands and this brace was a little loose around the thumb.

Great price, just what I needed
For the price this is an excellent wrist brace/thumb splint. Comfortable, fully adjustable for either hand (I'm using it for the left). Good wrist immobilization and the thumb especially is securely immobilized from wrist bone to the very last thumb joint. Time will tell about long term durability, but this is a well-designed, well made item.

Good Product
Have worn the item for a day and already find a bit of relief in the tendonitis in my left thumb. It is fairly adjustable and just slightly bulky. It is also made in such a way as to fit equally well on either hand. I had a game keepers thumb on my right hand many years ago and had to tape it up to keep from reinjuring it while doing strenuous activity. This would have worked perfectly to protect the thumb.

If you have De Quervain's Tenosynovitis: read this before ordering
If you're desperate for relief from De Quervain's Tenosynovitis, I would say that there are better options available. I used this splint for approximately two weeks, hoping for improvement in my severe case of De Quervain's Tenosynovitis, but I was experiencing tendon snapping and sharp pain, even while wearing this brace, because it still allows wrist and thumb movement. Maybe it's because the brace is too large for my hands? One-size-fits-all is great, until it doesn't fit you. For reference, I am an average-sized woman, so this brace is likely built with men's hand sizes in mind. The brace itself is easy to use and provides moderate protection from movement. There is (what feels like) a built-in stabilizer along the thumb tendon, but as I mentioned above, the brace is too large for my hands, so movement still occurs. If you have a severe case of DQT, you're going to need something sturdier and more heavy-duty to protect your thumb and allow it to heal. You'll also need something that will prevent all thumb and wrist movement. I ordered a brace that extends beyond the wrist and is specific to the left hand (it also offered small/medium sizing, which helped a lot). That brace is my go-to while sleeping, but I am wearing this Mueller brace during the day because it still lets me type (wearing it as I type this!) and do most day-to-day activities, while also serving as a constant reminder to take it easy on my left thumb. For under $10, it's better than nothing and provides some real benefit, but it could use more sizing options and better wrist protection.

Do a lot of gaming? You might consider one of these.
So at 80 years old I've finally got a gaming injury. I've been playing a lot games like Astro Bots and Uncharted and now my right thumb is so sore. Formal title De Quarvain's tenosynovitis. This Mueller is very help. It provides support while I'm playing so I don't injure things more and it really works. The material is quality mesh that holds up well. Easily adjustable and fits either hand. It does not get in the way while you're playing. Even if you don't have gamer's thumb right now, you might wear one to protect you for injury. Highly recommended

Hand pain and tiredness relief at its best, securely held and with minimal effort to set up
I had a brace to try it out for my diabetic cheiroarthropathy, where there is a steady reduction in flesh on the hands, with the intense symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, along with thumb muscle wastage, amass. There is also nerve damage, neuropathy, leading to painful numbness and a lack of signals reaching fingers and thumbs. I simply cannot fault this product except perhaps for slight bobbling. It holds the thumb in place and reduces pain so much, as I take opiates for this pain when it is out of control. I now simply cannot live without them. I have one for each hand, but you can alternate hands if you want to save money and only buy one. The straps have the labelling along them, so it's better to get them facing the correct direction, once you have reached your final tension required. The main label that advertises Mueller is along the longest strap of the three that there are. To summarise the 3 straps: 1) one strap to wrap around your thumb to the tension that you require - attaches as velcro component so it can stay on the thumb area or be attached to the main body of the brace on the hand; 2) one strap to wrap around your hand, which you extend via the rear side area of your hand, and there is a 'gate' area specifically for this to be achieved to the best fit possible (extremely important and good for security); 3) one strap to wrap along the base of the hand / wrist area, so that the wrist is held in the best possible comfort. It is indeed breathable and I love the warmth that it offers me as my blood circulation is poor after so many years of diabetes. Sometimes my fingers/thumbs appeared really white from poor circulation, but the pain was minimised by this support. I tried to have a break from using it constantly, as I read the customer reviews here and became worried. But I don't really need to worry. It's in use when I do hand muscle building exercises, as it gives the edge that I need to work out, both with Chinese silver chime ball pairs and with stress balls. The only negative that I can see, with relation to bobbling, is that they can get dirty pretty quickly, so need to be washed regularly. For this reason, I honestly prefer having a pair of them. I'm not too dependent yet, but I would much rather use these braces than take opiates (I take fentanyl, so imagine how painful it is). After losing my sole brace at hospital today after my haemodialysis session, I am straight back ordering a new pair of them, so that I can restore my reduction in pain relief use. Honestly, hand on heart, I highly recommend this for any diabetic like me, any carpal tunnel syndrome sufferer, any muscle wastage sufferer, any cubital syndrome sufferer and anyone on dialysis with knuckle pains and spontaneous fractures. I am a small size and it fitted very well. I couldn't ask for a better product for my suffering. I hope that your experience of chronic pain will also be dramatically reduced like I found. This is indeed a product worth paying extra for, that will be worth every single penny. And if you don't look after yourself properly, it's only you who you answer to... Best wishes.

Favourite braces and especially good for price
I bought two of these and they are lifesavers. They're super well priced for how well they work. I have really bad repetitive stress injury (I suffer symptoms of carpal tunnel, trigger finger, tendonitis, de quarvains tennosinivitis/gamers thumb, etc) and, at one point, my hands basically wouldn't work at all. I've tried a couple other types of braces and found they weren't helpful for various reasons. These, however, seem to help quite a bit. The velcro wore out somewhat after a while but I use them A LOT so that's to be expected regardless of the product and they still stick pretty well anyhow. I went from wearing them nearly all the time (be careful if you do this as it can cause atrophy) to just wearing them in my sleep. Make sure that while you wear them you are not doing anything too strenuous to make your muscles/tendons fight against the braces to move as this will cause further injury. Also make sure you don't adjust them too tight. I have really petite hands and they fit me well and you can adjust them to be quite large. So it seems they will fit a wide array of hand sizes. All in all, great product, just make sure you use them correctly (as with anything you use). Hopefully they help your hands too.

Value for money
Great quality. I should have get this in the first place rather than the cheap brand that lasted only for 1 month.
