Soft, natural results, but n Quite the Cool Blonde I Expected
I tried this hoping for a subtle, natural-looking blonde refresh, and it was… okay. The color came out a bit darker than I expected and leaned more neutral than “cool,” so it didn’t fully cancel out the warmth in my hair. It did leave my hair feeling soft and not overly damaged, which I appreciated, and the smell wasn’t too harsh compared to other dyes. Overall, it’s decent for a gentle, low-commitment color, but if you’re really aiming for a true cool-toned blonde, this might not quite get you there.

If you have resistant gray...
...you can leave this on longer so it will cover gray better. This is less damaging than permanent color. I use the dark ash blond for my light brown and blond and grey hair. I like the gentler smell of this color. I am sensitive to scents and this is very tolerable. It will appear a bit dark at first, but to get better coverage I have to leave on for 45 minutes. If you don't want that, go with permanent color like perfect 10. Their dark blond is warmer, but I like that formula and can tolerate the scent. I recommend natural instincts if you have never colored your hair before. Go a shade lighter or a shade very close to your hair color and follow the directions. If this works for you, great. But to cover my very white gray I have to leave it on longer. The color is very good for me. Do not be afraid to try it. Don't go too dark, err on the side of being too light, you can go darker next time if you wish. The color is very natural and so pretty. Limit the use of heat tools for longer lasting color. Shampoo less often if you can. Otherwise plan to use often to cover those roots. You do not want yellow or orange roots. A color is too warm if this happens. And we all know what white roots look like! With a hair color like this, you can get that youthful hair color back. I only use only at front hairline and the crown of my head to blend in with previously colored hair. I use a wide-toothed comb to ensure color is getting down to the root. Use as much as you and, don't skimp where you are applying it to saturate each strand. I also make sure my hair is free of hairspray, mousse, gel, etc. for best results. You don't have to, but it is best. Please do not stop making this. I also have sensitive skin and make sure to rinse it well. Do not color when you are in a hurry. I also use a microfiber towel on my hair. Save your best white towels for your body or your guests. I cannot emphasize how easy it is to use this color. When you color your hair regularly, you will get very good at it. Wipe up spilled hair color immediately. Don't get it on clothing, walls, bath rugs, etc. I sit in bathroom and play games on my phone to pass the time. I have no stress about it, it is just part of my routine. Good luck.

Gentle and healthy
The delivery was on time and the package was not damaged, it works on gray hair HOWEVER it might not cover ALL hair. What does it mean? The light blonde color was sufficient enough and I was happy with the results, but for picky clients this is not full coverage. It left out one or two hairs on my scalp totally gray, I just wanted to point that out in case someone wonders how the product works. I followed all instructions. But generally, I am happy with the color, I will buy again. The product was also really gentle on my hair and scalp and that was my main prerequisite.

Truly covers grays
Demo permanent is the way to go. It fades slowly so there is no sharp grow out line.

Beware very red/gold 7A Dark cool blonde
Back before the change when the product was 10 minutes instead of 20, 7A Dark Cool Blonde was always my go to product. I’d apply it when my highlights were growing out and I didn’t want to spend the money for more highlights. I’d apply 7A all over to get back to my natural dark blonde color which allowed me a few more weeks before a salon visit. The 7A color washed out beautifully over a month or so, nourished my hair and honestly my hair color with it was so gorgeous bc my existing highlights still popped but there was no root growth showing bc 7A darkened my hair just enough. I had a few boxes of the 10 minute formula and life was good. Fast forward to last week when I used the same color 7A as always and I got this horrible brassy super dark gold mess. Sooo disappointed and shocked. I tripled checked the box to make sure I hadn’t used a golden brown or a red color by mistake instead of 7A Dark cool blonde. The first photo is what it always did to my hair. The middle bright reddish is right after using the color. The last photo is after several shampoos with both clarifying & dandruff shampoos and purple conditioner mask to try and remove some of the dark color & tone the gold brassy red out. This is so disappointing. I will be scared to use the 7A product again and honestly afraid to try any of the Demi(?) permanent Natural instincts colors. I’d love feedback from Clairol about why this happened and what suggestions they can offer me. Fortunately it’s not permanent but I’m not looking forward to how this brassy gold color will fade. Very very disappointed.

Not for me!
The 7A Dark Cool Blonde came out very dark on my hair with red hues, like medium brown on my blonde highlights and dark brown on my light brown low lights.. I am not very happy with the color at all. Giving it 3 stars because it does feel well conditioned and it did blend my salon blonde and grey at least even though I don't like the color it ended up. It didn't fully cover my white streaks but I didn't expect it to. I will just have to wait a month and go back to the salon darn. I was hoping this would be a less expensive alternative for me.

Dark brown transition to dark blonde...aging gracefully with 7A dark cool blonde
I got the 7A dark cool blonde. It gave me baby lights without going to salon. I have natural dark brown thick hair. My goal is to transition my natural grey white aged hair into a dark blonde so that I dont have to color often. Everything I read online said I should do baby lights and go to the salon every 8 weeks. This seemed like a pain in the butt. This color is a good alternative. Why create baby lights if I already have baby white hair that I can deposit color onto? I'm glad I didnt go darker. My first time, I applied to entire head for 40 min. Next time, I'll only do the top but I'll have to see how the color fades. This is a perfect color to mute the white hair as I attempt to age gracefully. I love that the chemicals aren't harsh but I still worry about what it will do to my body long term. I may transition to a brand that is more natural once I begin to use this product more regularly. I expect to use this every other month and supplement color with gray away spray. I love that it fits within my vegan lifestyle although. I must admit, I need to do more research on the facts of those claims.

Great if you know what you're asking for - 7A Dark Cool Blonde
Love this dye. Heads up though as I know the "blonde" descriptor in 7A Dark Cool Blonde has the potential to lead to some heartache for those who don't know that a level 7 dye, and especially a 7 ash, is going to come out VERY dark. Hair is generally blonde (yellow) in the level 8/9/10 range. 7 is a dark, dark blonde/light brown and then ash tones make it appear even darker than a more golden/neutral dye would, so this will make your hair an ashy greyish brown for the first several washes. Don't panic! Go lighter if you want a true blonde (and your hair has been lightened to a level 8-10 first)

Doesn’t work for me!!! No color!!!
This color doesn’t even work!! I followed the instructions, the density of the product is very low and it’s kinda like water! After 30 minutes, it was just nothing! Didn’t work, and this is the second time I’ve bought this color, but I’m shocked like why is it not working though!

Very pleased.
Exact colour I wanted. Quite fade resistant for a temporary colour which is nice.
