Great Product
The PIC Gold Induction cook top is as advertised. It boils water so fast that I have had to change how I cook to keep up. It is very easy to clean, it does create hotspots in the center of the pan out to about 3 inches from center (6" diameter), This is mitigated by using tri ply pans with good heat dispersion. which will transfer heat clear to the top edge of the pan or skillet within about 90 seconds. The lower cost pans, including some provided by Nu Wave, have a thin magnetic plate attached to the bottom of the pan and heat dispersion is not as fast or as complete. That isn't the all fault of the PIC but is more the fault of the pans. The cast iron accessories get very hot but still hotter in the center until the heat can disperse. Cooking is so much faster and cleaner that I have not cooked on the stove since I bought the two PICS. A third one would be nice. Also note if you have typical 15 amp circuits or the better 20 amp circuits, you need to use each one on its own circuit. Two will definitely throw the breaker if both are on high power. I found that my Kitchen has 4 circuits, two in the typical locations and one for the microwave and a separate one for the disposal. I plug each unit into a separate circuit and have never thrown a breaker, even with both units on sear, According to the marks on the cook top the diameter of the coils is 8 inches, but the heating pattern when boiling water indicates 6 inches with the rest of the pan - up to 12 inches starting to boil (bubble pattern on bottom) about 1 minute after the inner circle. However a 3 qt pot about 1/2 filled with water reaches a full boil on the surface in less than 1 minute. Again the pans have a big impact on this. The temperature control allows me to make 3QTs of popcorn in less than 2 minutes from the time I put the Crisco in the pan until I empty the popped corn. I don't have to shake the pan, and it has never burned even when left on the burner for 20 seconds after the last kernel pops. I start it grease at 375 degrees and reduce the temp to 350 degrees about 30 seconds later when I put in the popcorn. 90 seconds later its done. I then set the temp to 175 and put in butter, while I wash the lid the butter melts but doesn't burn. I then put the butter on the popcorn and wash the pan. In less than 5 minutes I am back in front of my show with hot popcorn and cleanup done. I love this unit. The only question is how long it will last, but so far no issues.

Works very well
I have an old gas stove which the top is starting to cave on. Rather than spending approx. $5000 to replace it, I found these to be the perfect solution.... I live alone & don't do serious cooking so various appliances do the job for me. This set included an additional 3rd burner & is great because I didn't have to do any electrical modifications. It would have been necessary for me to run a 220 line for the 4 burner units. 3 burners is plenty for me so that's a cost savings too. These units are easy to operate, easy to clean. I can use some of my existing stainless steel pots on them, although I purchased a small set of induction cookware just in case. Fits well on any countertop. The portability is great for traveling & makes it nice to save money on eating out all the time. The burners & pot get hot only when an item is cooking but is safer for curious pets than traditional burners. The temperatures are accurate. The unit heats quickly to the desired temperature & cools down quickly when not in use.. Easy to operate & clean. I chose this set because it came with the additional 3rd burner that has its own carrying case..

Better than my home stove!
Prompt delivery. Quality product. Bought it to use while on vacation. Now I find myself using it more than my regular electric stove. Comes to temperature almost immediately , and really like how easy it is to adjust temperature, and cooking times.

Learning curve, but well worth it.
Was skeptical at first. Sounded too good to be true. But, now it is my go-to cooking appliance. As a recent widower, I have learned to minimize my kitchen, and tailor it to my own eating habits.. Frankly, I hate cleanup and clutter, so I have discarded the plethora of old utensils that are not "Induction Compatible." The old gas range burners are seldom used, and I've found that my kitchen is a safer place. I was disappointed to find that the digital settings did not translate to actual cooking temps; but it only takes one pot of stew to find that a "slow simmer" is achieved with a 175 deg setting, and is totally repeatable. You'll have to learn that you can't use your old reliable long-probe digital thermometer while the unit is powered.. You must hit "Pause" to take a reading, and then "Start" to continue cooking.. It's because the magnetic field causes the thermometer to shut down... The book doesn't tell you that, so don't toss your thermometer. It ain't dead.. My only other gripe is that I got the 1500W model, vice the newer 1800W mod. I was afraid that my old kitchen wiring would not handle 1800W. That was before I knew it had a wattage limit setting on the control panel. Actually the only difference is that NuWave advertises 5deg temp steps on the newer one, vice 10deg steps on my old one.. You still have to use a thermometer to check if small variations are that important.. Your old hand-me-down cast iron utensils will find a new life. And Kitchen Aid offers a very affordable line of skillets and pots that are non stick, very high quality stainless, and very easy to clean. Got myself a new "Joyce Chen" wok and am a very happy camper. -pp

WE LOVE IT!
We are so happy with the Nuwave PIC. It has completely replaced our one-year-old top-of-the-line Bosch range as far as the cooktop is concerned. (We do occasionally have a need to use the oven, of course.) I was worried that the many selection "buttons" might be hard for me to see, as I am vision-impaired. We placed the Nuwave directly on top of the glass Bosch cooktop and the light on our range hood nicely illuminates the selections and I have no trouble seeing them. My husband was very skeptical about the Nuwave but by his second use he decided he is quite happy with it. There is a noticeable noise when the unit operates but it is not loud at all. I've mostly used the preset cooking temperature selections but the temperature can easily be modified. We needed to buy some induction-compatible stainless steel cookware but that was not a problem, as we were in the process of getting rid of all our nonstick cookware anyway and changing to stainless steel. I was concerned whether my husband's stainless steel Pykal teakettle would work by induction, but it works perfectly. The Nuwave unit is sleek and easy to clean. Before deciding on the Nuwave PIC double I had studied all the other double-unit induction cooktops I could find and the Nuwave appeared to be the best choice by far. We haven't found anything about it that we don't like. In the event we require a third "burner" we have a nice stand-alone burner we can use. The quality of this unit is outstanding.

Love this induction cooktop!
Purchased this cooktop while waiting for a new stove installation. It is amazing. It’s adjustable heat levels and ease of use is phenomenal. It’s quiet and easily stored when not needed.

Great… Until it’s not.
Use the original new wave induction cooktop for almost a decade without a problem. I bought this thing thinking it would be more convenient. It was… For just over a year. No either side will heat for only about two minutes and then shuts down. No error codes. Just stops working.

This cook top has many features, some work well and in a boil test, the sides are practically equal
I am testing this new cook top to determine its cooking characteristics. I mainly use cast iron, steel, or magnetic attracting stainless steel cookware. I attempted to heat and control the temperature of two similarly sized fry pans on both burners. The pans are 8 inches in diameter placed on the centers of both burners of this double burner cook top. I set the temperature to 100 degf on both sides and pressed start. The burner on my left as facing the cooktop rose to about 365 degF. The burner on the righ rose to about 225degF. I waited less than 5 minutes to make the assessment. Since the pans are not identical I switched their positions to investigate whether the differences in setpoint and controlled temperature is pan related. I found the left hand burner to be much higher in temperature than the other, about the same variation, so, the differences probably are not pan related. I then tried a higer temperature. The results were the same, the left burner controls at a higher temperature than the right burner even with the pan switch and the temperature setpoint of at 350degF. I guess that the control temperature diiferences are due to a combination of lack of calibration, sensor placement, and non precision components. I had high hopes that this cooktop would be of a higher quality with great temperature control. Putting water into the pans would not be appropriate because the water would boil and the differences in heat input would be immaterial. I will try the test using a weighed amount of water, use the same pan, and time the heating at the same temperature, on both sides, for the same amount of time, and then weigh the water to see if the left burner heats more than the right burner. The higher heating burner should have less water, and I should be able to determine the difference in power input between sides. Right burner 300degF for 10 minutes starting weight 1755 grams, end weight 1600 grams, loss of 155 grams weight. On the right hand burner the starting weight was 1755g, the end weight after 10 mins 1610 g the difference is 145 grams. 10 grams difference is possible due to experimental differences like initial pan temperature, scale inaccuracy, and timing inaccuracy, so the burners are balanced as concerns heat input. So using a fry pan and expecting exact temperature control is not possible with this cooktop. I admit it is a pretty nice cooktop, nonetheless. The timing mechanism works well, Now to try one of those 100 recipes!
