API ACL300-A The Marksman

I bought this stand for my son he is 11 years old and the stand is light enough he can carry it easily. This stand seems to be well built, durable, lightweight and it packs easily. The only issue I have with the stand is the folding brace on arms. The folding brace arms cause some instability when climbing and setting up in the tree. This issue could calls someone to fall so I modified his stand and put aluminum braces on the folding arms to make them stationery for added stability. I climbed in it myself to see how the stand was this is why I know how stable it is instead of just asking him but he agrees with me. This is the reason I gave his stand a 4 instead of a 5. API makes quality products and this Stand is quiet light and climbs easily it just needs to be more stable . I also added the summit foot stirrups for climbing and got rid of the straps they were cumbersome to climb with. I have several stands and this one I would buy again it just needs the braces added for stability. I was very pleased with Amazon's delivery and the Sportsman's Guide the price for the stand is fantastic and I am going to buy a second one.

I've used this stand for the past month and think its great overall. It's sturdy, compact, easy to use, and light weight which was what I needed since I hunt public and private lands and don't feel comfortable leaving a stand. Its pretty quiet and easy to hike a mile into the woods with. I can set it up in about 5 minutes without rushing and make minimal amounts of noise. The only issue with this stand is doing a full day sit. By 4 hours the net seat is pretty uncomfortable and I need to get down. I have to say the seat is fantastic when deer come in though. It slides out of the way and makes NO noise when you stand up to take a shoot. I've recommended this stand to a few friends that also got tired of lugging a 25-30 lb stand with them. It's nice to not be drenched in sweat by the time I'm up in a tree.
